Stopped working after 2 months, great quality.

It served me well for 2 months until one day it suddenly disconnected from my home wifi and wouldn't reconnect anymore. I tried performing a factory reset and re-run the initial setup in the google home app but to no avail, it constantly got stuck at the wifi setup with the display showing "nEt" and wouldn't want to go anywhere beyond that. Now I'm just left with a fancy brick.

    Great Sound Terrible Connection

Constantly disconnects from the internet. The sound is great but I wouldn't trust it as an alarm since the alarm needs wifi to work and the wifi randomly disconnects all the time even though it is close to the router.

I bought this speaker/clock on sale thinking it would be a good replacement for my Google Home Mini on my nightstand. I've wanted a more traditional alarm clock for a while now, since it's kind of awkward to have to ask Google what time it's (not to mention I've to remember how to phrase, "Hey Google, snooze" while half asleep in the mornings.) While it's not quite what I was expecting, I actually like the fact that this is basically a Google Home with a display. My biggest complaint, though, is that it must ALWAYS be connected to WiFi to have any functionality. My WiFi occasionally goes out, and the clock will just display --:--. I wish this was fixed with a software update. Seems like a relatively big oversight to sell this unit as an alarm clock, but have that functionality be susceptible to internet outages. I'm glad I got this unit on sale, because otherwise the upgrade from Google Home Mini would not have been worth it.

The appearance and concept of this device is nice but it's a Google Home device with a clock. The manual is not useful. Day 1, it failed because the WiFi went down and 3 days later I woke up to flashing clock.

For the price, this is a good speaker. The sound quality is not as great as Amazon's Echo, but is cheaper, so it balances out. Also, the connection to the Wi-fi somehow is not as good as the Amazon Echo.

I want to love this and it's got some nice features. Integrates with Google home but the Wi-Fi only connection is a bit wonky. One this for sure if you have this in the bed room and you loose internet connection this darn thing will start talking at 200am saying that it cannot connect to the internet. This is OK I have four of them so we can play music throughout the house.

The music player has Great sound and can pickup my Wi-Fi nearly 150 feet from my house. It responds well and accurately to our commands, BUT here is the down side. It hesitates A LOT, maybe buffering, maybe weak Wi-Fi. .

I own the Google Home as well as the JBL Link 300 (with Google Assistant) and wanted to replace my aging iPod docking alarm clock so why not a Google assisted clock? This Insignia Voice speaker has the Google Assistant as well as a very clear clock & temperature displayed on the front. The display's brightness can be controlled by the touch buttons on the top that only appear when your hand gets near it and the buttons also control the volume. There is a button on the back that shuts off the microphone for times when you want absolute privacy. The sound quality of the device is incredible. It's clear and robust for a device so small. I brought it to my computer club meeting and demoed it and people were amazed by it's sound quality. I would gladly bring it to the meetings every month to amplify the club's computer but the one problem it had was it wouldn't connect to the library's WiFi. As a result of not being connected, it kept announcing that it couldn't connect to the WiFi every 10 minutes or so and we couldn't find any way to tell it not to connect. Outside of that I really enjoy the sound quality and the overall design of the device. Considering it's almost half the price of the Google Home there's not reason to spend more.

Generally happy with this, like the fact is resembles an alarm clock - time display on front and I use it for a daily alarm. Voice activation works well, was able to sync easily to my Zwave modules, Google Home, Nest thermostat, Smartthings hub, etc. My one complaint - it seems like this loses the wifi connection, so has to reestablish and there is a delay at times with voice feedback and/or home automation functions. But, it works and the voice commands to turn on lights, etc. very nice, cool to "snooze" the alarm in the morning just by "Hey Google, snooze the alarm for xx minutes." Overall, pretty happy with this.

Tried multiple times with multiple phones, this thing can not even be used as a basic clock or Bluetooth speaker until it syncs with your WiFi - which it doesn't do. I tried multiple locations, my other devices sync fine, but not this one. It doesn't look too bad as a paperweight, but even if you need one of those, there are cheaper options. I don't think there's enough weight there for a boat anchor either. ;-) I'm going to try to return it, will update review if I have any luck.

Everything works perfectly but only on select networks. At my university, the wifi has something that does not allow it to connect, so it is pretty much useless to me.Also, at my apartment, the same thing. Buy it if you want to, but test it on your wifi the same day and if it does not connect,, do not even bother to fix it; just return the item. Asides from that, it is really good and even shows the weather. Speech recognition is average but google assistant is really good!

It's a great value at discount and generally works well as expected.but. . has been 1 minute fast for a while... It's the correct time zone. It's been reset as it occasional loses Wi-Fi as people have commented. But generally it works well and is worth the discounted price. The led could dim further as its still bright for a night clock.

Terrible product - wifi does not work

I purchased this product on ebay-bestbuy last week based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews on this site. I bought a google home mini in December and have enjoyed using it, so thought this would be a great second speaker for my bedroom. It's not. I submitted a review on ebay as well, but it was not displaying, so I'm reviewing here to hopefully add some helpful criticism for anyone else purchasing it. This speaker must have the wifi antenna in a poor location or just a weak antenna. I'm unable to get it to connect to the internet, unless it is about 15 feet away from the wifi router. I use a TP-Link Archer C2 AC750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router IEEE 802.11ac/n/a. This router provides signal throughout my home. I set this up in two locations and it did not work in either places. The google home mini worked in both of the places. I tried putting it on the shelf right next to my google home mini and the only response I got was "there was a glitch" or "something went wrong." I'm unable to use this in my bedroom for an alarm clock as planned. Based on this experience, I would not recommend anyone purchase it. Stick with a google home mini.

I bought 2 of these on a Deal of the Day for$25 each and they're pretty much the same as a Google home but with a clock. Now a few down sides to it is that when the wifi goes out so does the clock on the screen which doesn't make sense to me. Another is that I've set these 2 in a group but for some reason I can't give it a command from my phone. Ex. If I say "play a certain playlist on that group" from either of these or from my other Google homes it will play it. But from my phone it just plays other types of music in the same genre. Other than that for the price is a good buy.

Ok, I received this item for free when I purchased a small kitchen appliance. I can't say much about the speaker because I haven't been able to use it. You need to download the google home app to set the speaker up. I wanted to use this as an alarm clock in my room, which is the farthest room away from my modem. I sat for an hour trying to get the speaker connected to my WiFi with no luck! I tried moving the speaker closer and still nothing! I got so frustrated, I quit! So, maybe I'll try again later, but until I have a working clock/speaker this product is a dud.

      Hi there,

Congratulations on your new Voice Smart Bluetooth Speaker. We want you to enjoy all of its features.

For the setup process to be succesful your smart device (phone/tablet) must be on the same WiFi network as the speaker. Please try to configure the speaker close (6 feet) to the WiFi network then you can move it to final location. Consider a WiFi extender if the signal is not strong enough.

    Can't match Google's version.

I had great hopes for this product. Alas, it did not hold up to Google's version. The wifi range on this is terrible. It needs to be in the same room as the wifi router. My Google Home works on the other side of the house. And even when it is near the wifi router, it takes a few seconds longer to respond than my Google Home. Another annoying thing is that it errors out a lot... i.e. "There was a glitch" "Something went wrong" "Please try again later" That is something I rarely ever get on my Google Home device. I did like the clock display and USB power-out port on the back. I returned this item to the store and bought a Google Home Mini for $30 less.

Bought this to replace my aging Chumby Alarm Clock. It works great but the Display and the Power LED at the Back are way to bright. So I used electrical tape for the back and tint foil for the front. Now its perfect. The hover over function is great. Sound is really good for the Bedroom. Wish it had the equalizer Function the regular Google homes have. Alarms work flawless. I hate that when Wifi is off the display only shows NET, no time. Since I turn my router off a few hours at night this is less than ideal. Wish Insignia would update the firmware more often.Overall its a great product for the Price (if you buy it on Sale).

NS-CSPGASP SKU: 5865801 I bought 2 speakers when they was on sale. I really tried to like Insignia product but this will be the last time. The speaker worked well for 2 weeks then one day one of the unit keep saying "there's glitch, please try again later" , At 1st I thought it was Google server but when I test on other Google home products in the house and they're working fine and there's nothing with my Wifi. I reset the device a few times & even delete my Google home app and reinstall it in an attempt to reconnect the device then another error pops up in my app "unable to connect to the cloud". This is when I begin to suspect that there's something wrong with the device wifi antennae that prevented it from connect to the wifi. I ended up returned the device at a local Best Buy. My other experience with Insignia product wasn't good either. I also bought 2 Insignia digital radio clocks and they too died after a year when the light on the digital number failed to glow and the other just died. Over all, I am very disappointed with Insignia products. Insignia is more than welcome to contact me for further info on the products. I should just spend a little more in the beginning to get a "name brand" device and save on future problems & extra spending. PN
