The product is easy to install and it does the job, however, I bought it in order to check the door when I'm away from home and it only works whenever the phone or mobile device is using the same WiFi network as the Garage Door Controller. The only workaround is to have an Apple TV (which I don't have), an Apple HomePod (don't have that either) or an iPad staying at all time in the house (I have this but now can't take the iPad with me out of the house). Maybe it was my fault for not researching how Apple HomeKit works (this was the first device that I had to set up this way), but I think that since this product has several warnings about not to buy it if you don't have a strong WiFi signal in your garage, at least one informing that you'll need an additional gadget to enjoy its full capability would be very thoughtful. I felt hopeful for a moment when I realized that there was an Insignia app but unfortunately it doesn't work with this specific device. I have a few other smart devices set up at home (cameras, thermostat, sensors, alarms) and they only need to be connected to WiFi and can be accessed and used without relying in any additional gadget so in the end I'm not very satisfied with this.

While this was easy to use, setup, and is very convenient, it doesn’t work about half the time. It’s great when it works, but seeing accessory not responding on a very regular basis and having to use the regular opener is extremely frustrating. I should be able to use this without needing to make sure that I have an alternative ready because this decides it’s not going to respond at least half the time.

I am an apple guy and found this at the last minute when I was researching the WEMO bridge and hub. Nice piece of tech. My garage door works with Siri or HomeKit. iPad, iPhone, HomePod, AppleWatch & Apple TV.

Great garage door remote and one of the few I could find that works with HomeKit which was a must. Installation was very simple but did have some minor issues with HomeKit finding the device at first. Went through setup a second time and worked fine.

I’ve been using this HomeKit enabled garage door opener for a few months. It’s simple to set up. So far, no glitches, no dropped service, no resets. I like that I don’t need a hub. Excellent product.

This was super fast and easy to install, 15 mins maybe. Works great with Siri, the home app or even my Apple Watch. I can’t wait to see if i can use IFTTT or short cuts to add more home automation with this.

AWESOME. Absolutely AWESOME. Easily connected, connect to garage door opener at the ceiling then install the second part to the top of the actual garage door and your in business. Best WiFi purchase yet.

The initial installation isn't too complicated. I have an older Garage Door opener and it was compatible and easy to connect to. HomeKit found the Controller rather quickly. I've had a few times when HomeKit as unable to connect with the Controller because of signal issues. I installed a WiFi booster and it solved this issue. If your router is in close proximity to your garage your should not have any signal issues.

I purchased this because I heard many complaints about the MyQ. I am slowly trying to build up my Homekit devices in my house and jumped on this $40 deal because I read a lot of positive reviews here on BB for the product. The setup was fairly easy and was up and running in a matter of minutes. It worked perfectly the first time and never worked after that. I even removed the device from Homekit and added it again. It works one time and then I get the NO RESPONSE on Homekit. From the looks of it, there is no way to use the Insignia app for a possible future firmware update. I had really high hopes for this product. I do not recommend this product at all unless they fix the issue. Insignia folks, please fix this, it's a great product IF/When it works.

It’s very convenient that I have this now. Easily can check if accidentally left garage door open. Very easy to install. So far working great and no issues at all.

I wanted this to work, but it just hasn’t. Maybe 20% of the time does it actually open or voids the garage, not enough to be reliable. We have great WiFi signal in the garage, so it’s not that. Also the sensor to detect if the door is up or down never works. At least it was cheap?

Works as it should. I have tried several other options that say they work with HomeKit but not very reliable. This product seems to function m Just fine

I have an older garage door opener. One that is not compatible with the various add-ons that allow for smart phone & remote operation. After contemplating buying a whole new garage door opener (big $$$), I stumpled upon this product. Did my due dilegence to make sure it was compatible then bought it. Install was a piece of cake. Took less than 10 mins. I can now control my garage door through the Home app in iOS, via voice through Siri, on my Apple TV & even my Apple Watch. Huge upgrade! Highly recommend.

Have had this installed for the last month. Overall I’m quite happy with it. Have had a few instances of it displaying the wrong status of the door however those seem to correct the next time the door is used.

This garage door opener is only good with Wi-Fi even for Apple HomeKit. The box and flyer was a little misleading... it mentions Wi-Fi on the box but when you read the instructions, you get a sense that it works remotely as well since the Homekit doesn't need you to be on the same Wi-Fi to activate your devices. Look out for the returnable date, it is also shorter than most products.

Works great. Requires a little work to install since the connection is direct to the garage door lift rather than using a signal but good product so far.

Very easy to set up and works perfectly. It allows me to check that the garage door is closed and is a great way to link my garage door to HomeKit.

Super product, great price and had zero problems with HomeKit applications. I bought 2 , one for each existing garage opener, simple to install and setup.
