Sometimes it’s a little slow to update the current position on my phone, but always less than 30 seconds or so. The main controller is a little bulky, but should be able to plug into the same outlet as your garage door opener. I have not had any problem with the sensor reading the position correctly. Got this on sale and super happy with it.

The issue I have is with the Apple's Home App. Sometimes it will not communicate with the garage door opener, that can be a result of the wifi signal at my house. But you will get notification on your Apple device when it opens and closes.

There is not adequate information on the product page to make an informed decision, even at the beginning of the instructions, my opener passed their little compatibility check, there is not "learn" button on the wall control, turns out there is one on the opener unit itself, I was only able to find this out after spending a frustrating hour fiddling with the wiring, trying to get it right.
