I wasn't expecting much from these cans, but was presently surprised. While they won't replace my Sennheiser HD1 headphones, they've earned a place in my bag when I don't want to take the pricey headphones. The first thing I tried was watching a movie on my iPad (2018) and was impressed with the lip sync and overall sound quality for movie watching. Dialogue was clear, music sounded good, if a little warm and it was a good overall experience. Music sounds a little flat at the high end. You can EQ it a little, but then it becomes sibilant. I think these headphones are perfect for movie viewing and listening to podcasts. Modern music sounds a little better than classic stuff as it tends to be mastered for cheaper headphones. Active Noise Cancellation is good, but not too aggressive. These would be best suited to an office situation to drown out distractions but still allow you to hear someone if they stop by the desk. One interesting addition is a "monitor" button. Press it and it mutes the music and uses the ANC mics to hear whats going on around you. Great for hearing announcements on a plane without taking them off! The right earcup has touch controls for volume and to skip tracks. Frankly, I couldn't get the hang of them, but I usually use the transport controls on my device anyway. They can also be used wired using an included cable. It's nice that it takes a normal aux cable rather than a proprietary cable. When music isn't playing there is a little hiss and some fluttering in the left channel for me, but you will not notice it when listening to anything. They're also nice looking and don't have garish branding anywhere on them. The fold up nicely, but do not include a case. Overall I found these impressive for the price and will be using them in situations where I don't want to risk my higher-end headphones.

Fantastic cheap headphones. Sound quality is great for the price, noise cancelling works reasonably well, and the connectivity is fast and reliable. I use these all the time now and they are very comfortable for extended use.

DISCLAIMER: This is my first ever pair of over the ear (OTE) headphones. When I first put these on, I was impressed with the sound isolation. That was before I even turned on the active noise cancelling (ANC). When turning the ANC on, these really shine. So much so that when you take them off, the world sounds a raucous place. 5gstars for sound isolation and noise cancelling! Now for everything else. The sound quality is middling. It sounds like the drivers are fighting against the sound isolation. Being that this was my first pair of OTE headphones, I can't say whether this is true for all OTE headphones. But these sounded like there was some thin media between you and the sound, muffling everything just a little bit. Don't get me wrong, with outside sounds blocked out, the sound is good. It's warm and enjoyable, but it lacks the crisp clarity of great headphones. I've got a pair of $10 wired Panasonic earbuds and $40 wireless Sony buds that sound much more crisp and clear, but lack the warm sound isolation these have. After wearing these for a couple hours, that muddy feeling becomes unnoticeable. It's only if you compare them to better sounding headphones that you notice. 3.5 or 4 stars for acceptable sound quality. The mic on these is awful. I mean, it pics up your voice, so that's good, but it only pics up your voice because it pics up EVERYTHING. It almost amplifies all the background noise. On the other end of the line, your voice is definitely audible, and pretty clear, but so is the traffic, the neighbors dog barking, the baby crying three houses away... You get the idea. 2 stars for the mic. They're acceptably comfortable. I wouldn't want to wear them for 8 hours a day yet. I feel like I'd have to train up to more than a few hours. 3.5 stars for comfort. They did NOT work well as a computer work / conference call set of headphones. Setting the mic issues above aside, there are also some compatibility issues. When I tried to join a conference call, the headphones wouldn't accept the computer audio. I don't really understand why. They would accept the computer sounds and notifications. It worked fine playing music. Then I joined a conference call, and the headphones just stopped working. 2 stars for usability. I bought these for computer work at home to block out noise from roommates clattering around. Being that I can't actually use them for work, they'll have to go back. Bummer.

I bought these when my cheaper wired Sony headphones started peeling on the ear pieces (you know, because of the faux-leather covering). I decided to go wireless and over the ear for a better experience, and I'm glad I did. These have excellent clarity for the highs and mids. Even the bass response is very surprising for something in this price range. They are comfortable on the ears and do a good job of blocking out noise. The noise canceling works best for white noise type sounds, like an air conditioner or fan, although it still does a decent job with other sounds. The bluetooth can be a little funky when using as a headset, because there is a "headphones" output option and a "headset" option. When I was previously running Windows 7, you had to make sure you only selected the headset option if you wanted to use the mic. If you mixed the headphones for output with headset for input, it wouldn't work properly. With Windows 10, it seems to do a better job. I did get this on sale, but even at the regular price, they're still a good deal.

Mixed bag - comfy but disappointing sound quality

I rated this 3 stars as these headphones have two big pluses but one major minus for me. The minus: The sound quality just isn't very good. It has a muffled quality, as if there is a layer of cotton between the headphones and my ears. The bass comes through fine but the higher notes sound suffocated. These headphones are fine for listening to spoken sound, such as YouTube videos, conference calls, podcasts, etc. I'm not an audiophile, but I like to hear the full sound of music I listen to, including all the subtle effects and notes. I also like to appreciate the full lushness of orchestral pieces. These headphones dull the sound down so much I miss those subtleties. To be fair, this seems to be the case with a lot of noise cancelling headphones judging by what others say. The pluses are that they are very easy to use and are very, very comfortable. I have a medium-sized female head and I can wear these for hours without feeling any discomfort. They are also great at blocking out noise. Even without noise cancelling activated, they block out a lot of outside noise. Overall, they're a fine choice if you're not that picky about musical sound quality. I still use these for work activities, as they are so comfortable. But, when I want to appreciate music, I switch to a different pair of headphones.

I was having trouble with hearing the TV. The audiologist said it is age related hearing loss and not quite ready for hearing aids. I bought the headset so that I would not disturb the neighbors. To my surprise, it has made everything much clearer. I don't need the volume of the headset to be very loud. not only are the voices clear, but I now hear "all" the background sounds from the TV. I did not even know I was missing them. They headset is very comfortable. It fits over the ear, so there is no pressure on the ears. The charge lasts for days of evening watching. It recharges quickly. I am not a music lover, so I can't say what the headset will do for music. However, it is GREAT for a senior wanting to hear all the TV programs without bothering others. The price is fantastic!

Purchased these on sale at about 50% off, for that price they're a great deal. The sound quality can be a little bit muddy in the mid-range sometimes, but overall sound quality is good, I listen to jazz, rock, classical, and hard Rock mostly. The noise cancellation works well, certainly not as good as a high-end Bose or Sony, and the sound quality certainly falls a little bit short of those brands as well. But I use these when sitting in the stands for my kids sports events, with the noise cancellation activated, it drowns out most of the background crowd noise, and it's perfect for that. The touch controls, and button controls are all very responsive. And for 40 or 50 bucks, if I did lose them or somebody took them, I wouldn't feel that put out. So, for the average listener looking for noise canceling headphones, these are great! If you are an audiophile, spend the 200 bucks to get a good pair of noise canceling headphones, these will not satisfy your requirements.

    Great Mid-Range Headphones!

As an avid daily walker, I rely on headphones to listen to music in order to keep me moving. As a first-time user of Insignia headphones, the performance of these headphones is really good! I will comment on aspects of these headphones that I found to be reliable as well as useful: Bluetooth Pairing-These headphones paired well with my Android phone. The overall communications from these headphones is clear with much clarity. In the two nights of walking, I have not experienced anything that negates performance such as dropped signals. Comfort-the comfort of these headphones is wonderful! The inner-ear pads are very cushiony, as such, I can keep them on for the duration of my walk without them sweating or pinching my ears. I perspire heavily when walking and exercising which result into headphones making my ears feel hot and fiery which results into my taking them off. NC-The noise cancellation coverage on these headphones is top-notch! While amidst my walk, I activated the noise canceling feature as I took an evening walk due to change in my work schedule. As a result, the track was full of people, which can sometimes cause me to become unfocused. Therefore, I activated the noise-canceling feature from these headphones, and I did NOT hear anything! It truly was a good feeling to not hear conversations, stomping of feet by joggers, and the overall noise produced from the track environment. Calling Feature-the calling feature on these headphones is pretty decent as I made a few calls after my workout. The callers indicated they did hear me well and I in turn heard them well. As there weren’t any distortion, choppy communications, or dropped calls. Touchpads-I found the touch pads on these headphones to be easy to navigate as I have not experienced any delays or uneasiness during navigation. Design-The design of these headphones consist of a hard-plastic coating, which is durable and will withstand accidental drops or scratches that come from not having a protective case. However, I would have liked to have seen a good protective case to accompany these headphones. Overall, I think these headphones are of quality build and affordable pricing to consumers, who wish to own a good pair of noise cancelling headphones, at affordable pricing.

I received the Insignia over the ear Noise Cancelling headphones as part of the Best Buy Tech Insider Network. They are very good for a $130 price point. They're very non- descript, just black with branding on the headband. Very comfortable to wear. I also use them when working out and they cause 0 issues. The music controls on the right cup are more swipe based which takes some getting used to. The controls on the left cup are for power/pairing, ANC and Monitor. The Noise Cancelling is good not great. You can tell the difference when ANC is on versus when it's off. It's more for ambient noises, like a loud A/C unit and the such. You can still hear people with music playing. Outside wind when walking or running does kinda ruin the experience because it sorta creates pressure imbalances. The Monitor function let's you obviously monitor your surroundings but it kinda sounds like you're in a vacuum when used. Overall I like them as they're a great starting price and are simple to use and look nice. I would recommend them to people looking for their first set of ANC headphones but have a tighter budget and can't afford the Bose and Sony where they start at least double the price.

The sound quality is good enough for me. My only issue is with the durability - and that's probably my fault. I wear them when I'm watching TV as I multitask on a treadmill. My sweat finally wore down the material and semi-destroyed the covering over the earpiece. I'm not writing that to ding the product - just to warn others that intend to use these headphones for that purpose.

Since I've been working at home, I needed a nice pair of wireless headphones that was also noise canceling so the background noise of my family would be less of an interruption. These popped up on a Deal of the Day and they are worth every penny. First off, they were shipped overnight which is awesome service to get something less than 24 hours after purchasing. The headphones are very lightweight. Sound level is superb. I'm listening to them at about 25% on my phone. Bluetooth range is pretty far. I can walk outside quite a ways from my desk and it still picks up. I've listened to music for about 10 hours without needed to charge again. I'm very pleased with this purchase :D

I bought these to combat the noise on my commute home. The price is definitely within in reason for what you get compared to other products. The ear is completely enclosed which I feel aids in the noise cancellation. The controls are more than easy enough to operate as well properly placed for ease of access. In addition the battery life is great allowing for little to no worry if the power will last me the trip. A full charge average two hours a day for three days plus hours i was left with 60% battery life. Also the ability to still use the headphones with being connected to bluetooth is a huge plus. The only reason I didnt give it a five is because the audio cord does not have a mic to answer calls.

I bought these to tune out the noise of my mower and the noise from my kids while working from home, and they work great! I use them for meetings and music on my computer devices and my daughter listens to books on the kindle. They block out so much unwanted noise. The only difficulty I have with them are the side controls for volume and other functions. This feature doesn’t always work smoothly, but it could be because I’m still getting used to using them. Overall, I would definitely purchase this product again!

Insignia products are usually seen as the generic brand at Best Buy, but that’s not a bad thing. These Noise-Cancelling Headphones come with features that higher-end or more expensive headphones lack. Pros -Decent build quality -Touch controls are a neat feature -Sound quality is fairly decent -Included 3.5mm cable great for air travel -Bluetooth pairing is fast and easy Cons -The Noise-Cancelling is good, but not great -Bass is a bit much -Ear-cups are on the smaller side and ears start to fatigue after an hour of use -Do not fold down for compact storage If you are in the market for NC headphones and do not want to spend $300, these Insignia headphones will do a good job.

I worked in a production area that had 100s of computers running at once. This created a lot of noise so I needed something to cancel that out. For $60 dollars these Insignia headphone provided everything I needed; some noise cancellation along with enough volume to where I no longer heard any background noise. They are a bit on the dark side sound wise but I am ok with that.

I wanted to like these wireless noise canceling headphones but can’t bring myself around to giving it thumbs up to them. The positives, it was fairly easy to pair up to Bluetooth devices; adequate level of noise reduction (if I had to guess, I would say it reduces about 85% of the lower frequency noises and droning – definitely can’t compare to my Bose QC15); don’t need batteries or headphones turned on to simply function as headphones; and also fairly comfortable even when wearing it for 4+ hours – my ears didn’t feel hot nor did I feel like I was underwater. On the negative side, you can’t wear these headphones to just cancel out noise as it needs to detect input signals or else it automatically shuts off after 5 minutes. I guess it is a good feature for ensuring that you don’t accidentally leave the headphones on and drain the battery. However, if you intend to, like I wanted, just to use it to block out office droning so that you can concentrate, then these won’t work for you. As for listening to music, although I am not an audiophile, I find that the sound reproduction was scratchy and taking away from the enjoyment of the music. I also detected a hissing sound when noise canceling is activated. So bottom line, a very average noise canceling headphones that may work for you if you are price conscious but really not the best noise canceling headphones out there although decent enough.

Pairing the headphones with a device enables the ANC to function without music if intent is to use for ANC only.

Bought these off the "deal of the day" at $49.99. I love how it can use both Bluetooth and wired 3.5mm cable (provided in package). The noise cancelling I'd rate at 7 out of 10. There is a muted option while on BT that while lower volume just above silent to hear around without removing off ears. Also the rt side has a touch feature that works as well, volumes up down, skip track forward and backward. last but not least I'm not big on brand other companies items. The logo is on the top off the band and is in black so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. Very comfy pads, bass is decent and lastly I bought 2, one for the misses.

Great Headphones. I use when I don't want to bother others with the music I am listening to and on Airplanes to cancel out engine noise.
