I wasn't sure of this would work with my Canon Rebel but I took a chance since it wasn't too expensive. It works great!

Love it because of its size...throw it in your pocket and everything is a go. I have the Canon and it's much larger to carry, granted it's digital and great for studio, the Insignia is great for all round photog.

Once we got familiar with the remote - it was smooth operations and great photos out to about a 12'-15' radius. One thing is it does not work with videos so that was a slight letdown. Still it is a very nice tool for taking self-portraits or shots that you usually use a timer for - just gives you more control and timing.

If you need something simple, this will do the trick. You can’t control camera settings, but it does prevent camera shake from pressing the shutter button. The only other downfall is that it’s infrared, so you actually have to point it at the infrared sensor on the camera. Can be a bit of an inconvenience.

I purchased this for a photography workshop. I’ve never used a remote shutter before and this was fairly easy to use. Took me a few minutes to figure it out but that was mainly my camera and not the shutter.

While the packaging and the Best Buy website and the manufacturers website all said that there was a list of exactly which Canon cameras were compatible with this, no one....not my husband, not me, not even the Best Buy guy.......could actually find it......anywhere. I suppose it could be inside the package but I wasn't about to open the package to find out that my Canon model wasn't compatible and then deal with trying to return it!! So I just returned it. Also, there were some reviews of it online that said it didn't work well at all if you weren't sitting right in front of the camera. Sort of defeats the purpose.

I usually take self portraits by setting a timer on my DSLR and running back to get in front of it. At first, I couldn't figure of how to actually connect it to my camera...but that could be a me thing. But, once I did I found it to come in handy. So if you take self portraits, this is defiantly make your life easier.

I have used this on a few occasions. Each time, I find that I have to aim it very carefully in order for my Canon 80D to pick up the signal. Maybe I am just not practiced enough, but a previous remote on a different camera was more forgiving.

The remote works but has to be pointed directly at the camera. This means that it is very difficult to hide the remote in the picture if you are using it to take pictures where you are in the picture. We are using this remote with a Cannon Rebel SL1.

It is absolutely awesome to have a remote for my Canon T6i, as muchas I love this one (great price) I still need one with more distance. I believe this is only good for about 10 foot away. Which is great if you think you will be that close all the time. I would recommend this more for beginners.

It may or may not work when you need it to. The battery compartment is lodged shut and I have been unable to open it at all. Since it's thin plastic I chose not to force it to avoid breaking it. Honestly unless you are in a rush buy something better.

Nice little remote, my only issue was figuring out how to use it on my canon t6i because the instructions weren't too clear. It was as simple as changing the drive mode to 10 seconds/ remote. You do need to face it towards the ir sensor on the front of the camera for it to work.
