Love this camera! I used it when I go off roading, mountain biking and when riding my motorcycle it’s like having a camera man with you always.

By far, one of the coolest cameras I have owned in the action camera market. Just received the product today and got to test it out for a little bit (so will update this review as time goes on), but the one thing I really noticed was the level of stabilization on this camera is insane. Pros: 1. Video Quality (5.7k 30fps) 2. Flowstate 2.0 Stabilization is amazing 3. The number of things you can do with the app is incredible Cons: 1. Battery Life is still no more than an hour (but will try different settings to see average battery life) 2. When connecting the modular pieces together, there is a bit of gap between the battery and the lens/screen, which I'm sure is fine since there is a seal between the connections, but at first I was worried if water would leak in between. Will update after running some water tests. Just kind of unnerving when first putting the pieces together if I did it correctly 3. Screen display is small (which isn't an issue itself), but I have noticed flickering from booting up and sometimes going through the menu (occasional). I'm sure this will be patched eventually Overall, yes I recommend this product to those looking for great stabilization and video quality. I have also looked into the One X and Hero Max, and my personal opinion is that the One R is better than the One X in terms of video quality, but the Hero Max has slightly better video quality than the One R. However, in terms of workflow and editing, the app is incredible and easy to use once you get the hang of it. Can't recommend enough. As an enthusiast of action cameras and amateur vlog blogger, this modular action camera is too appetizing for me. In the process of experiencing disassembly and assembly, the functional modification of the camera is completed. Whether it is a 4k with backpack clip, panoramic with selfie stick, or even a wild accessory to find a thrilling drone perspective, this camera can meet. I was familiar with the video editing method of the app and tried it. The color, radio, and anti-shake really surprised me. I regret when I buy it! Regret buying late!!! ONE R made me believe that modularity will be the future trend of action cameras, and the modular design will make each user's firmware update more personalized and convenient. I hope I can take ONE R to unlock and record more special experiences!

Pros: The iOS app for this camera is hands down the best full-featured app out there for reframing 360 videos quickly. Orders of magnitudes better than GoPro Max in terms of the ease of editing, key-framing and deep tracking features. The timelapse feature with the motion blur also look very cool! The battery life on this thing was also decent in low temperatures. I was able to record over 30 minutes of footage over 50 minutes of usage around 40° F / 4°C Cons: The device by itself was underwhelming. The unit I received was unfortunately defective. The touchscreen was unresponsive and the camera froze up intermittently and the only way to reset it was to detach the battery. Insta360 support was helpful and asked me to ship it in for a warranty repair but it was a slow process and so I decided to return. Despite all these issues, I would recommend this product in a heartbeat if they fix the hardware issues.

Have already brought this out and used on a chest mount more than a few times already and I absolutely love it! Yes it does get hot over time of being used I believe GoPro does it as well. I've compared this to GoPro's cameras and have decided on this OneR camera due to the fact its reliable to shoot and record. Just make sure you have a fast read & write speed micro SD card. I've had one which is a 256GB Sandisk UHS-I V30 for my drone and switched it over to the OneR makes a huge difference. Batteries I would highly recommend upgrading to the boosted (if you don't care about waterproofing) or buy extra batteries $90 for two extra and fast charger in which I did because it will keep the camera waterproof and my batterybacks will charge my batteries while im using the others! Camera shoots very well. Very steady and has its own app for editing before hitting post. Cool thing too is that it all stays in the camera! Microphone can be improved but its not terrible audio surprisingly. I still use an external mic on this but If I forgot to bring my external mic I wouldn't be upset about the audio on board. General things about the camera - Its modular! Its price is still hanging on tight so that means its worth it! Still continues to get major updates and I'm pretty sure any upgraded cameras would be parts if you have the brain and battery or be a big bundle for first timers!

The 360 video is good and comparable to the GoPro max. I own both and like the insta 360 one r colors a little better. The dynamic range is a little better when you hit shadows, and you can shoot slo mo or a higher fps which is the main reason I stopped using the GoPro Max. The action cam module works well and having a front facing screen is super helpful. The audio is terrible out of camera but if your gonna vlog with it there are adapters to hook up a mic. The app is good and you can download it for Mac and Windows. It takes a little getting used to but an hour or two playing with it and you’ll be editing quickly. Pull the trigger and buy it if your researching 360 or action cameras. This one does it all and can be upgraded unlike any other camera.

This price is equivalent to buying two cameras, the anti-shake is really powerful, but the function needs to be improved. There are fewer mobile app tutorials, stiff editing paragraphs, lack of keyframe positioning, I feel there is still a lot of room for development, and I look forward to more perfect editing software.

The insta 360 one R is definitely pushing the envelope of action cameras. With its modular system and high quality specs there is much promise for the future of this camera. There is a good support team which listens to feedback and improves firmware where possible. The one hesitation to give this product 5 starts is its waterproof claims. Because it is modular there is water that gets to the contacts. And there are doors on this camera that do not instill confidence in you because of the questionable build of these doors. One little slip up on closing these doors leads to a water logged paper weight for sure. For 360 and action camera usage I highly recommend. For water use you may want to buy a waterproof housing for peace of mind.

Insta 360 as a company has done what other companies haven't for consumer level 360 footage and that's providing software that is user friendly in the phone app or on the desktop program. also the 4k mod is very capable. It has electronic stabilization and is compareable 4k quality to the gopro Hero 7 black, I do plan on eventually getting the 1-inch leica lens mod. I also appreciate that the audio adapter is only $10 conversely the gopro hero 5,6,7 black had a $50 audio mic adapter and the GP8 has an $80 audio mod and no front screen. Enjoying the 360 and can't wait to try live streaming in 360.

This camera will take your travel and action videos to the next level. You don't have to worry about making sure that what you want is in the frame. Video quality is excellent and super stable. I recently took it to a snowboarding trip to Lake Tahoe and there is no way I would be able to take epic videos of myself if not for this camera.

Great action cam. I mostly use the 360 camera but the modular design makes it robust to use as an action cam or even a webcam when needed.

Insta360 did a great job with the functionality of this camera. The 360 portion is much nicer than the GoPro 360. I’ve owned both and returned the 360 gopro to only use the Insta360 One R. I don’t think the action camera portion is as nice as the GoPro Hero 9. But it’s on par with the hero 8. If you’re looking at getting into 360 filming and want a nice user friendly camera this is the one to get. As you also get the action camera as a bonus. The App is nice and easy, I’ve created all my short videos all from my iPhone.

360 is awesome, and the app is fantastic! Need more time to play, but so far so wow! Handled water on my SUP with no problem.

A fantastic gateway to new & creative images. As I move from still photography to video and beyond, I am excited by the capabilities of this camera. Thus far, it has demonstrated good quality build and great still and video by an amateur. Suggest to view YouTubers who further explain this camera.

This little camera definitely packs a really unique punch. Great image quality. Low light scenarios are alright. The real value comes in the two modules you get in the box. I will advise that you MUST activate an account in the app in order to update the device to get full functionality.

Excellent product delivers great results. Just wish that it could be a little thinner so that it has better stitch result and it comes with a remote control for better experience, given that its app is buggy and slow for the simple task of control.

Had the hero 3, 5 and fusion. This basically is all those cameras in one with a great app to boot. The firmware updates, especially the last one in September makes this camera even better with all the added functionality and improvements!

Its a fun little camera, the touch screen is very small and not very responsive. I did not care for the 4K mod, GoPro beats it at game. Only bought for the 360 function.

The simplicity of the camera is amazing. Just shoot and point later. Even if you are just looking to get some family moments, its worth it. We get our daughter going down slides, swings, bikes etc..
