I bought the Insta360 X4 8K 360° Action Camera as a gift for my husband a little over a year ago, and it has easily become one of his favorite gadgets. It’s been through just about everything with us — car meets, K9 training sessions, house hunting adventures, family trips — and it has performed flawlessly every time. The 8K 360° footage is unbelievably crisp, and the stabilization makes even the most active moments look smooth and professional. The camera is lightweight, easy to use, and surprisingly durable, which has been perfect for all the different environments we’ve taken it into. My husband loves how creative he can get with the shots, and the editing features make it simple to turn everyday moments into amazing videos. After a full year of use, it’s still going strong and continues to impress us. If you’re looking for a high‑quality, reliable action camera that captures everything around you, this one is absolutely worth it.

The X4 raises the bar for 360 action cameras. The 8K footage is incredibly sharp, and it makes a big difference when reframing shots — details stay clear even after heavy cropping. FlowState stabilization is excellent, keeping everything smooth whether mounted on a car, helmet, or handheld. The app integration is one of my favorite parts: reframing, tracking, and exporting clips is quick and intuitive, which saves a lot of time in post. The battery life is better than older Insta360 models, though I’d still recommend extra batteries if you’re shooting all day. It’s slightly bulkier than the previous generation, but that trade-off is worth it for the image quality and new features. Overall, the X4 feels like a must-have tool for creators who want flexibility and cinematic results from a compact setup.

Doesn’t work, very disappointing, every time have errors

Upgrading from the Insta 360 X3 to the new Insta 360 X4 has been a huge step up, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. The X3 was already a solid camera, but the X4 feels like a whole new level of performance. The video quality is noticeably sharper, especially in low light, and the stabilization is even smoother than before. I also really appreciate the improved battery life—it lasts longer on shoots, which makes a big difference when you’re out and about capturing content. The touchscreen feels more responsive compared to the X3, and the overall design still has that same sturdy, compact build that I liked about the previous model. What really stands out is how much more efficient the X4 is—it’s faster to process footage, and the editing workflow feels less clunky than it did with the X3. If you enjoyed the X3, the X4 feels like the natural next step. It’s familiar enough to feel comfortable right away but refined enough that you really notice the upgrades.

I am a long time GoPro owner/user. With all the "bugs" that have been causing me to lose a whole lot of footage in the recent models I have been looking into camera options. The main comment that made me take a long hard look at the Insta 360 cameras was they don't have "bugs" like GoPro. After a whole lot of reading reviews, watching videos, and reading actual owner/user feedback I invested in an Insta 360 X4. I have only used it a handful of times but my initial impression is good. The video editing definitely is different than what I am used to and to be honest is one of the things that kept me from getting an X4 sooner. I've used the editing program a few times and have been able to get through it to make a few videos and it does take extra time but it's not too bad. The X4 is amazing. Being able to pick out any view I want/need is awesome. The video quality looks excellent to me. The camera seems to be fairly straightforward to operate. I have been only a little confused with finding the settings I want to change and getting them set where I want. As I said I have only used it a handful of times so I can't say much of anything about the long term use and or durability. I will say that the battery life is fairly impressive. I got more life than I expected and I am using the X4 in the 8k 30fps mode. Well done Insta 360.

Great camera. Sturdy on my motorcycle. Clear images and videos. The editing app is SICK. Picture is a still from a 360 video at 60mph, check out how clear it is! Only thing that sucks is that without the longer stick, the distortion is pretty significant. The picture is with the camera mounted directly onto my handlebar.

Amazing quality and easy to use. Battery life is decent for the quality it produces but i recommend getting extra. My favorite function is the 360 recording and the ability to edit in 360 as well. It traces objects and has many more exciting features. Ive bought 2 already!

Impressive camera! I was skeptical of these after seeing distorted videos, then I thought about using it for an inspection project and was pretty impressed. I was hoping for more detail when you zoom in, but overall it gets the details needed for the task. Battery charges fast, fairly intuitive controls, about the only negative I've found is that it gets hot fast and the lenses seem vulnerable. Video is fairly poor in darker areas.
