I've been using this since July. It's been on several trips, including motorcycling, bicycling, air and car travel. Ive used it in extremely hot weather with little to no wind as well as with road noise and motorcycle wind. The sound quality is very good without needing to use the wind guard, even better with it. The video quality is great as well. I find myself using the X5 in preference to my non-360 cameras. Insta360 cameras, in general have a learning curve, but once you get used to the quirks, they really are a great option and very versatile.

This camera is freakin’ amazing! From the quick start and ease of use, the picture quality, and the way it magically creates a 360° video is hard to comprehend and hard to beat. I got this to use on motorcycle rides and was able to take video, clip and edit the video and export it to share without every reading an instruction.

The Insta360 X5 is an impressive 360 camera that delivers excellent video quality and a lot of creative freedom. The image is sharp, colors look natural, and stabilization works extremely well, even when shooting while walking or moving. Videos come out smooth and professional-looking with minimal effort. The camera is compact, well-built, and easy to carry anywhere. Controls are intuitive, and the mobile app is powerful but simple to use. Editing 360 footage and reframing shots is fast and straightforward, even for beginners. The camera connects quickly to the phone and works reliably. Battery life is solid for its size, and overall performance has been very stable. It’s perfect for travel, action shots, vlogging, and capturing moments where you don’t want to worry about framing. If you want a high-quality 360 camera that’s easy to use and produces great results, this is an excellent choice.

Great product! I use this camera for my DJ gigs and I will say the resolution is really good for a 360 camera, this model is also the greatest when it comes to low light since my dj sets take place in the dark most of the time. Overall I highly recommend this camera to djs and or people that want an action camera for other activities!

The video quality on this 360 action camera is outstanding, especially in 8K. The footage looks sharp and immersive, and the stabilization works very well for action shots and movement. The companion software is user-friendly, making it easy to edit and share content. The only drawback is that the battery drains quickly when shooting in high resolution, so carrying a spare battery is almost necessary. Still, it’s an excellent choice for anyone who loves filming adventures or creative projects in 360

I just picked up the Insta360 X5 — and it’s absolutely worth every penny. The 8K 360° video is insanely sharp and rich in detail, and the larger 1/1.28″ sensors + AI-powered PureVideo mode make low-light shooting much more usable than earlier models. The FlowState stabilization keeps footage smooth even when I’m biking or walking, and the “invisible selfie stick” effect turns casual shots into cinematic, drone-like perspectives. Battery life is solid — I’ve recorded nearly 90 minutes of mixed 8K/5.7K footage on a single charge, and recharging is fast when I plug it in between sessions. The built-in audio surprisingly holds up even outdoors, and the water resistance + rugged, lens-replaceable build give me confidence to take it on travel, hikes, or adventures without worrying about damage. Overall — if you want a powerful, future-proof camera for travel, 360° video, vlogging, or social media content — the X5 is a no-brainer. It feels like a compact production studio in your hand.

I have both X4 and X5. Here is the pros and cons. X5 has larger sensor, longer battery life, better night shots, and replaceable lens. X4 has cheaper price now. I used to buy X4 at 499.

We use the x4 for work so i bought the x5 for myself. I am very happy with the performance in low light and the quality is top notch.

This is the most advanced action cam ive used, prior to this i had the insta360 ONE RS which was a great camera but a bit bulky for my needs. I use this camera for watersports, fishing and travel and its done well it all of those conditions. Easy to clean salt water off of. Video quality is amazing however the insta360 studio tales a bit getting used to. Overall best video camera i have.

If you want the best 360 consumer camera on the market, here it is. It's easy to use, has tons of options, and you don't have to "miss out" on traditional flat video since you can choose either 360 shooting or flat shooting like a normal action camera. The selfie sticks are auto-removed from the footage so you really only see a shadow depending on sun angle, and you can get some amazing shots that a normal action camera can't give. Lately I've been using mine at car shows to walk around after shooting photography to capture the whole scene and then knowing it records in a full 360 sphere, you're assured you won't miss any of the sweet cars you've walked by. After the fact you use the editing (whether via app or desktop app) and you can choose the perspective view of what you want the final video product to look like. Think you missed that Ferrari revving up behind you, nope! You already captured it, just turn the view to where the action occurred and keynote frame it in! This is my first 360 cam and I'm amazing at the creative ways you can capture content, albeit only using it for this specific application lately. The default microphone is actually quite impressive and it will fully capture your voice, or all the amazing car sounds happening around you with great "non clipping" quality. Also as far as combining microphone wireless tech, this fully works with DJI Mic 2. One note, if you connect one of the transmitters via Bluetooth, it WILL BE LOWER QUALITY. To ensure you have better quality, you can actually connect the receiver module (via USB) to the USB-C port on the side, and actually use both wireless mics with full bandwidth recording. it my look goofy and add extra dimension to your kit, but that's the sacrifice to pay for combining extra cool tech to your rig ;-). You will benefit from using the Insta cloud share which they'll give you a long trial. This allows you to actually share either "flat video" or a 360 URL link to send to friends and family where they can manipulate and twist and turn the 360 Video footage or 360 Photo to their hearts content. It's quite cool. And you can re-snip or capture from that perspective too. Note that when viewing preview in editing software, it will be lower quality UNTIL you export your final product. You get to choose the bitrate and resolution which is dramatically better quality than in preview/edit mode. I've yet to test the anthroposophy modes and hyperlapse, but have confidence it will be a great end product from what I’ve already explored w/ the camera. Also btw this does great 360 "image" shots. So if you are into Real Estate, walk into a room, snap, capture a huge 72 megapixel image and create your own mini tour, etc. Or just capture a full rez 360 photo-sphere of any place you travel! I give this 5 booms. Watch videos, see if it's for you, and if it is, you'll enjoy the creative content you can get from it. PS, the number of accessories Insta360 has is quite amazing for their products so be on the lookout as more come to market.

Insta 360 X5 was definitely one of the best purchases I've made. We use it on our sport bikes and hiking adventures. So easy to use and the software app for editing on our phones is seamless. Very well thought out product! Very pleased.

Great 360 camara, very user friendly, if its your first 360 camara you wont struggle. It overheats easily, you might need to let it cool down between takes.

I needed to make a wise holiday purchase, one that classifies itself as a "big ticket" item. I did my homework on the top three 360 cameras on the market. Best Buy has been my go-to for many, many years now, especially during the Holidays. There were 3 of these cameras left in stock at my local Best Buy. Needless to say I chose to purchase here over Amazon, even though Amazon offers combo packages with this camera. To sum things up, my son was in awe over receiving this Insta360 camera for Christmas.
