Since we entered the COVID era, clean air has certainly been on my mind. The Instant Air Purifier is a great addition to my growing arsenal of air purifiers in my house. With its 3-in-1 filtration system and plasma ion technology the Instant Air Purifier works to remove many contaminants from the air, most importantly 99.9% of the virus that causes COVID-19. The unit itself is sturdy, and setup is easy, just open the unit up and take off the plastic on the filter medium and replace. Plug it in and turn on, the Instant Air Purifier will then start to measure the air quality in the room that you place it. Indicator lights show the quality of the air in the room Red / Yellow / White from worst to best. The great thing about the Instant Air Purifier is its designed for continuous use so it will monitor and filter the air in your chosen room constantly, keeping you and your family as safe as can be (from an air quality perspective). With all the lights and indicators on the Instant Air Purifier, if using in a bedroom, there is the option to lower the brightness to 20%, 60% 100% or even 0% bright so those who need totally dark room when sleeping (like me) can have it with the 0% setting. The Instant Air Purifier is also VERY quiet and suitable for use in the bedroom for that reason. Overall I am very pleased with the Instant Air Purifier and would recommend it to anyone searching for a clean air solution.

The Instant Home AP 300 Air Purifier is an incredible home air purifier that was extremely easy to get up and running. With everything unnecessarily trending towards being “smart-enabled” nowadays, it was refreshing to see that this particular air purifier does not require the use of any sort of app for setup or maintenance purposes. Instead, all you have to do is unbox the product, open the bottom of the unit to access the filter, remove the plastic packaging from the filter, reinstall the filter, plug it in, and turn it on. That’s it. The air purifier automatically begins running in “Auto” mode which in my opinion is the most ideal mode since it does everything for you. No need to adjust fan speed or anything like that. It increases and decreases the fan speed on its own based on the quality of the air. Another really great feature is how it automatically goes into night mode depending on the amount of surrounding light. No need to setup a schedule through an app, it makes all of the necessary adjustments for you! Overall, the Instant Home AP 300 Air Purifier is one of the best air purifiers I believe you can buy based on how well it works and how easy it is to setup and maintain and I highly recommend it!

It cleans the air but it always seems to need help in auto, so no automatic setting. I have to run on medium until it senses bad air then back to auto. It's like a water pump, you have to prime it before it runs. Not happy.

Review for Instant AP300 Air Purifier Large I’ve tried a number of air purifiers over the years, but I have to say, this is the best one I’ve ever had! The Auto setting defaults to just about everything you could ask of such a device: it tests the air and runs at a level required to clean it quickly, it ionizes to remove germs during the day, it quiets down and dims its lights at nighttime, and reverts to Eco mode once the air quality is great in order to save energy - all with no adjustments on my part. The filter is an all-in-one combo of HEPA, carbon (for smells), and anti-bacterial. It’s easy to replace and should last 6-8 months, depending on use. Mostly, I like how quiet it is. Once the air is clean, the fan runs on low, which is practically silent. It shuts off on Eco mode, which then retests the air every ten minutes, and runs again as needed. The ambient light is stylish and color-coded to the level of air quality. You can set the brightness to three levels or turn it off.

For starters, I will take any advantage I can get to clean the air around me with so much sickness going around. I love how this tells you the air quality as a percentage because I can visually see when it is going to work when I burn something nearby such as a candle or food. The percentage will drop and if it drops to far too quick, it really powers up to take in more air to clean out the room faster. It always knows when I've done something to change the air quality. Even vacuuming it recognizes some extra pollutants in the air. I don't have allergies but my significant other does and I definitely notice less pet complaints. I positioned it right by the vent in the living room so it could grab any dust that makes it through my furnace filter too. I also like the design. It doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. Great addition to the instant family of products!

I have both this and a Dyson air purifier fan. Between the two, I actually prefer this one. The Dyson is much more focused on being a fan, but you don't always want a fan running in your room. While the Dyson does have "smart" features allowing you to adjust settings from your phone, the Instant Air Purifier just works. Plug it in and don't worry about the rest. Controls: You can set this up to run at different speeds and have the lights at different levels, but all in all, this is really just a set-and-forget system. I set it for "auto" rather than any particular speed. It detects when there is more particulate in the air, and increases the filtration when needed. I don't have to worry about filling the apartment with smoke when cooking bacon or other meats, because this kicks right on and cleans up the air as we go. Between a Dyson fan and this, definitely save yourself some money and just go with this air purifier unless you are dead set on always having a fan running.

This is my first Instant Brand product and I am impressed. It seems very well made/sturdy. It was packaged very well and easy to unpack and set up. The filter is a 3-in1 that captures 99.97% of the particles in the air. Super easy to install the filter too. I opted to set this up in the master bedroom as my husband has allergies and I've been looking for something to help him out. This is a great product especially with night mode sensing. It turns off the display lights and lowers the fan to almost silent. When you first turn the purifier on it cycles for 30 second countdown to analyze the air quality. My initial set up went from an orange color to white after running for some time. I do notice it turns orange after I shower and use the blow dryer too. It eventually turns back to white as it clears the air. I try to keep the fan set to the high setting during the day just to grab the dust and allergens that bother him and it does seem to be working really well! Note, this high fan setting is a little loud but you know it is working!! The one thing I don't like is that the buttons on the top are hard to read if the room is not lit. The icons can't be seen at all and should be illuminated. Otherwise, this is a very nice room purifier.

I couldn't find much that I would change about the Instant Air Purifier. It’s not controlled with an app, which is a plus in a way, because it makes the controls simpler. It comes with a booklet with complete instructions so I didn’t have to find a website to get all the needed information. It was packed very well and wrapped in plastic, which prevented any scratches or marring. It is super quiet. I only know it’s on because the light’s on. There is a large intake area which allows for rapid air purification. The display can be toggled between % air quality and micrograms per cubic meter. It will clean the air in a room that is 419 square feet or less in size. The filter is large and has an activated carbon filter to reduce odors and a HEPA-13 filter to remove ultrafine particles, allergens and smoke. There is an Ion button to produce positive and negative ions to break down harmful impurities. This is the first time I’ve seen an air purifier with that feature. The display light intensity can be toggled to off, 20%, 60% or 100%. This is a nice feature if using it in a bedroom. When set to AUTO operation, the ECO mode function automatically engages when air quality is high. This shuts the unit off until air quality decreases. The manufacturer states that this feature decreases energy usage up to 50%. There is one area that could possibly be improved. Some air purifiers show % filter life so that there is some warning before the filter actually needs to be changed. As far as I could tell, the Instant purifier only alerts when it is time to change the filter. I normally have good air quality - at least 95% - but I had several occasions during testing when the air quality dropped. I cooked something in the oven and grease dripped onto the heating element. I didn’t think much of it, but when I turned on the air purifier to do some testing, the indicator light was red and the air quality was down to 55%. The fan quickly ramped up and the air quality was at 85% in an hour or so. The fan then went back into quiet mode while continuing to purify the air. It took it about 3 hours to get back to 95%. I was impressed that it recognized that type of odor, which really didn’t seem that strong to me. The next day I turned the air purifier on before turning the oven on and when the smell became noticeable, the air purifier instantly recognized the decrease in air quality and began removing the odor. We have also been experiencing some forest fires that make the air smoky. When I have the door open and smoke comes into the house, the air purifier shows a drop in air quality and goes to work. I did notice that in Auto mode the fan doesn’t come out of quiet (low) speed until the air quality is below 80%. The air quality eventually gets back to 99% on Auto, but restoring air quality quickly requires manually increasing the fan speed. I would expect it to automatically ramp up at anything less than 90%. I would recommend the Instant air purifier. It is extremely quiet and is large enough to maintain air quality in a fairly large space.

Received this item and tested it out. It’s easy to set up and is quite a large unit, I actually put it in the corner of my family room and it’s a low enough profile to stay out of sight. It has various settings on it to switch between seeing how dirty the air is and also particle matter etc. it appears the filter inside would be easy to change out and it opens and pops right out. If you keep the settings on auto it will stay pretty quiet and unnoticeable. I did try to notch the setting up higher and it was pretty loud. In all a pretty decent device and I am at peace knowing my air is being cleaned and monitored.

The Instant Air Purifier is an excellent choice when it comes to cleaner air. We have four pets so cleaner air is very important to us. Typically we just have it set to “auto” and that does a great job at cleaning the air. If you bump up the speed all the way the fan can get a bit loud but it isn’t too bad. In auto mode the fan is silent, however. There is a nice light at the top of the unit that provides a nice ambient glow while it is running. You can turn down the brightness or turn the light off entirely if you so choose. It is also nice having the plasma ionizer option to help kill any potential airborne viruses and bacteria. We also have this running 24/7 and it has worked well. Overall, the Instant Air Purifier has been an awesome addition to our home. If you’re looking for cleaner air I highly recommend this product!

    Better Options for the Price

As an allergy sufferer living in a high-allergen part of the country and with a new kitten at home, I am keen to keep my indoor air as clean as possible. I began exploring air purifiers mid-pandemic, when the added benefit of capturing airborne viruses tipped the scales in favor of giving air purifiers a try. Having used two highly-rated models for a year now, I was curious to see this new product from Instant brands. I recently moved to a larger apartment and was in search of another purifier. The Instant AP300 attracted me with a streamlined design, powerful AHAM air cleaning rating and real-time air cleanliness display. I appreciate that Instant offers three similar machines in different sizes to suit different rooms and cleaning needs. The AP300 feels relatively well-constructed, with an all-plastic body and shiny touch-sensitive top control panel. I feel the "charcoal" color is a lot sleeker than the "pearl" color, but that's more a personal preference than anything. The charcoal color has the added benefit of better concealing the air intake grille holes, which are much more obvious on the pearl color. Setup was dead-simple: twist open the bottom of the unit, unwrap the round filter, put it back in the unit and twist the bottom closed. When you plug in and power up the AP300 it defaults to Auto mode, measuring the indoor air quality for 30 seconds before giving you a cleanliness readout and selecting a speed based on the particle count it measures. Every time I've done this, I find my indoor air quality to be 97-98% or better. The AP300 also uses an LED ring underneath the control panel to show you air cleanliness from a distance, giving the unit a high-tech appearance. You can manually override the automatic settings and adjust the fan speed yourself, which I found myself doing regularly. After running in Auto mode and detecting clean air for a period of time the AP300 will go into a ultra low speed Eco mode, moving very little air unless a wave of pollutants are detected. While this saves energy and makes very little noise, it also allows dust and dander to settle on surfaces rather than be sucked into the filter; I follow the recommendation of many professional testers, which is to run the unit continuously on medium. Over the course of a week alternating between the Auto setting and the medium fan setting the AP300 never registered lower than a 97.5% air quality rating, even after turning the unit off for a night and then restarting it the next morning. I'm pleased that my indoor air quality appears to remain high at all times, although this does bring into question whether I even need a purifier in my space. While the AP300 did a solid job of maintaining my high air quality on all settings, I was disappointed in the amount and tone of noise it makes, even on the low setting. In addition to the expected sound of air moving that all purifiers will make, the AP300 introduced a constant whirring/rattling sound on low and medium fan speeds, as well as an electric motor whine. The highest fan speed drowned out those noises with the rush of air but was far too loud to use except when needing to rapidly clear the air, such as if the room were to fill with smoke or dust. Additionally, one of the marquee features of the AP300 -- automatic night mode -- did not work on my unit. The AP300 is supposed to detect light levels and automatically turn off its lights and enter a low fan speed mode in the dark so as not to bug you while you're sleeping. Despite repeated tests, I could not get this feature to work, although I was able to manually cycle through four light levels. I had hoped to use the AP300 in my bedroom, but the annoying fan noises and ineffective night mode rendered the AP300 unsuited for this use. While it does clean the air as advertised, these little annoyances should not be present on a purifier at this price point. Comparing it to the similarly-priced, highly-rated purifiers I already own, the AP300 is sleeker in appearance, but much noisier/more annoying in operation. It also demands filter replacements every 6-8 months, versus yearly with my other units, and the proprietary Instant-branded filters don't come cheap. I think the AP300 could really improve in this area by adding a washable/cleanable pre-filter to catch larger dust and debris, preventing these from filling up the HEPA filter and shortening its lifespan. Overall, the AP300 is slick in appearance and usage (minus Night Mode, at least on my unit), but really let me down in the noise department. I'm sitting underneath an air conditioning unit as I write this and I can still hear the whirring/rattling from the AP300 over the compressor noise. This, combined with frequent, expensive filter replacements, makes it hard for me to recommend this unit. You can find equally-effective filtration at this price point that won't annoy you with noises or require a pricy maintenance schedule.
