Customers are impressed with the convenient ink delivery and the affordability of the Instant Ink 50-Page Monthly Plan. Many appreciate the plan's ease of use and setup. However, some users find the page limit restrictive. A small number of customers have exceeded their monthly page allowance.

I purchased the printer and decided to try the "Instant Ink" feature because it eliminates the need for me to order HP ink and is also cheaper than if I purchased the ink directly from any supplier. To my surprise, within a few weeks of turning on my printer, I received my first "Instant Ink" order without having to do any actual ordering. Because ink is only ordered when I get close to running out, I don't have to keep extra ink on hand. Love this new concept from HP!

I was skeptical about this service at first, but they have a free option if you don’t print a lot (I think the free limit is 10 pages a month). They also have other tiers. If you go over your allotted amount of pages it is $1 for 10 extra pages. Keep your printer on and hooked up to WiFi to send ink level data and they ship you ink cartridges when you are getting low. Pretty cool service if you are like me and completely forget to run out and buy ink until it’s too late. So far this has worked out great.

Being new to this type feature, and not being a huge user of the printer, this program may not be for me. However, with the promotion from Best Buy for 5 months free service to try the Instant Ink service, I did sign up. I instantly received two full, new ink cartridges from HP free of charge. All future ink will also be sent based on # of pages printed and the computer reading my ink levels as I print. We will see how this goes, but right now I am getting free pages and ink!

This subscription service is exactly what I've always wanted. No more late night store runs to get overpriced printer ink when you run out unexpectedly. The printer talks to HP, reports your ink levels and boom, your ink is delivered right to your door BEFORE you run out! We currently have 6 months free so we are subscribed at the 300 page price point. Once our free trial is over, however, we will bring down our subscription because we do not print anywhere near 300 pages per month. Excellent service for families and work at home folks.

Went into Best Buy to find a new printer that used cheap ink cartridges and was told about this program. Basically, you sign up for how many sheets of paper you think you'll use each month and when you are getting close to that amount you were automatically sent ink for your printer. While that convenience is great in and of itself, the plan I chose was super cheap - $2.99!!! Sure beats paying $50 for ONE replacement ink cartridge!! Totally recommend this plan if you want to save money on ink. And avoid the hassle shopping for it in the stores

We chose to try this due to loathing the inevitable: "we're out of ink at the most inopportune time" situation. HP provides 3 different print / month cost options, a free app to track everything from how much you are printing - to tracking the delivery of your new ink, & they offer a free trial prior to your commitment. Plus, they offer free recycling of the empty cartridges. Whether you print a little or a lot- HP Instant Ink is worth trying. Fairly priced plans & ink on demand to your door- before you need it.

Instant Ink what a brilliant idea to come up with. Ink refills costs too much. Instant Ink takes all that worried and cost away, with a affordable monthly charge with a special affordable plan to benefit your budget. Instant Ink talk to me personally and explain exactly how the plans work and I can change to lower costs. I love it, specially when I price the ink carts for my printer, I can't afford them. Instant takes all that and more away from your budget. I appreciate Instant Ink for this outstanding services. Thank you for your services..

Good Responsiveness on Ink Shipments

Was skeptical at first, but a 3 month prepaid plan came with the HP Scanner/Printer I bought 3 years ago and I have been on the 50 page/month plan ever since. After the initial (small) cartridges ran low, the replacements came quickly. 2 years later I was not showing low on the ink level, but the print quality was getting bad, I believe, because I live in the desert SW and the ink was drying up. I was able to "force" a shipment of new cartridges and everything has been fine. Only negative is the HP Smart app that connects to the Ink Management and can also be used to control the printer/scanner stopped recognizing the scanner on one of the user profiles on my Windows 10 PC after about 2.5 years of use. Tried troubleshooting it MANY different ways from advice on HP site and blogs and then tried to deinstall and reinstall. But since it is still on another user profile, it wouldn't reinstall the app. The HP Smart app still works from THAT (rarely used) user profile!

This is a great way to get ink without the hassle of going in the store. You have the option to get free ink if you’re only printing 15 pages per month. You can change this at anytime to your printing needs. It does track the printer ink levels and that’s the only issue for me. Because I don’t keep my printer on or plugged up when not in use and I receive email alerts telling me to turn on the printer. But it’s a great buy.

Ink by Subscription

Seems like everyone is doing the subscription thing. From newspapers to magazines and software. Now HP has jumped on the subscription band wagon. To me, it sounded like an ok idea. For $10 a month I can print 300 pages, black and white, color, low resolution or high resolution. The ink is no longer an issue, just the number of pages I print. I'm self employed and do a bit of printing, but I'm not sure if I will be printing 300 pages a month. Luckily, there are 3 different tiers and I can downgrade any time.
I was VERY lucky when I went to buy my new printer. An HP rep was there and they were doing a promotion so I got a 3 month subscription for free. Then, somehow, the planets aligned just right, the angels started singing and I found a discount code and got another 3 months for free.
Oh, and HP sends out a full set of new ink right from the start, so even if I were to cancel the service (you can cancel anytime), I still get a full set of ink for free.
Somehow, I wound up with 6 full months of being able to print 300 pages and use up all the ink I want for no charge. Thus the 5 star rating.
