Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the ease of use, large capacity, and excellent overall cooking performance of the RIO WIDE Plus 7.5Qt 7-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker & Multi-Cooker. Many appreciate its generous size, perfect for larger families or batch cooking, and the improved cooking results. However, some users mention challenges with the lid design and steam release mechanism. The wider pot is praised for its ability to accommodate larger cuts of meat and allows for better browning.

Leaks steam continuously, doesn't start cooking

My IP Rio Wide Plus doesn't come to full pressure and start cooking. I've tested cooking beans in water four times, each time with different amounts. (Never over the 1/2 mark.) After waiting up to an hour I'd turn off the machine and looked inside. More than half the water was gone. The first time this happened I got the constant message "Turn to Lock Lid". I tried to open/close the lid many times but the message would not go away until I unplugged the machine and let it sit over night. Then, I started my tests. Never got the same message again but the escaping steam problem persisted. I see that this is a common problem.

Great pressure cooker. Wider but same volume as our last one. You dont have to go elbow deep to use it.

Total Disappointment – Constant Issues and No Supp

I’ve had nothing but issues with this model from the start. It constantly gets stuck on preheat and won’t cook. I’m always messing with the float valve just to get it to work—something I never had to do with my old, basic Instant Pot. This is supposed to be an upgrade, but it’s been nothing but a downgrade and a waste of time. It’s not even a year old and already drives me nuts every time I use it. I’ve reached out to Instant Pot multiple times and have been completely ignored. I’m leaving this feedback because I’m fed up and frustrated—and honestly, people should know what they’re getting into.

This was so disappointing. I never could get the seal to fit . The instructions didn't clearly show how to do it. I called support but they wouldn't help. All I had to be able to use was the slow cooker without the seal. Just a 200.00 crock pot. Would have been great if it would have worked the way it was intended. I threw it in the trash and bought a $30 crock pot from some where else.

Stopped working after 3rd use. Steam started coming off from the sides and it would not bring to boil.

You can make a good meal with this but plan on at least an hour for the pressure cooker to preheat.

I have an Instant Pot and was looking forward to the Rio Wide. Did the pre-cook instruction and it stayed in preheat cycle until water evaporated then showed a burn notice. Never actually switched to "cook" cycle. Tried making eggs and the same thing happened.

The same flaws in the 10 year older model are in this model: it often does not reach pressure point.

OK, we've been using it for about 40 days now. I really like it. We've used the pressure cooker modes, slow cooker, seering etc. We like that it is wider and shorter than a normal pressure cooker (Insta, cuisinart, etc) More surface area for browning meats before pressure cooking. The stainless steel container is very easy to clean as is the entire machine. Love it so far.
