Best buy seems to sell the old version which I believe so not offer heartbeat. Basically no way of telling if the device battery is dead.

Does not connect nor work with the Insteon Hub. Not worth the hassle.

    Works Flawlessly

Does exactly what it's supposed to do and has the ability to send txt and or email notifications based on sensing opened / closed events. Can be used to trigger other Insteon products. In order to use this and any other Insteon product you will need their hub or another manufactures compatible hub as the "brains" of the system. You can also download / purchase software to run on a PC or Mac, but that system has to be always on in order for certain schedules and events to occur. I started with an Insteon starter kit and have been expanding ever since.
