Good CPU, but Intel is losing their mind

Good processor, but really no different than the i5 8600k. The 9600k "apparently" uses solder between the IHS and the die, so theoretically you should be able to get slightly lower temps at around the same speeds vs the i5 8600k. But if you're buying an unlocked CPU, you either plan on overclocking it and already have a good cooler, OR there's no reason to buy an unlocked CPU. Intel will tell you that the base speeds and turbo speeds on the 9600k are faster than the 8600k, but that is 100% deceit. The 9600k just comes a little overclocked from the factory. An 8600k should be able to perform the exact same as a 9600k, just maybe at 1-2 degrees hotter. If you are maxing out your CPU, then the 9600k *might* give you a 4-5% increase in speeds overall. I am tired of Intel failing to deliver NEW products on time. It is just delay after delay after delay, and then when a new generation of CPU's does finally come out, there's nothing new about them: they're the same 14nm technology chips with their clocks bumped 100-200mhz from the factory. AMD is already releasing 7nm tech as we speak, and Intel hasnt even released 10nm yet. They just keep delaying everything and selling us the same products with new labels and higher price tags, causing a shortage in mainstream Intel powered laptops and computers and thus jacking up the prices for us consumers and lowering the margins for PC companies. Go with AMD. They are faster, cheaper, more technologically advanced, and will soon replace Intel as the "standard CPU" . Again, this is a good CPU, but you can get much more bang for your buck if you go with AMD.

For a while I researched and debated between the 9600k, 9700k or Ryzen 7 2700x for my new build and I decided to give this a shot. I’m using a Corsair h100i pro and temps are mid 40c in gameplay, although I have not overclocked yet this thing is a beast and I just know the right decision was made. So if for gaming you are building for go for Intel i5 9600k, I’m glad I did.

Coming from a 4790k I was apprehensive about upgrading in the past because I didnt feel the performance was there, but the 9600k changed that for me. I enjoy overclocking and this chip didn't disappoint, 5.2ghz on all cores with a max temp of 68c with a 240 aio left my 4790k in the dust and with much less power. Great chip and I highly recommend it.

After doing much research i decided to go with this CPU because the i7 and i9 of the 9th gen can be overkill because not many apps support then and processing power is going to wait. Works great for games and video editing. Works great with the CORSAIR - Hydro Series H100i PRO Liquid CPU Cooler 120mm Liquid Cooling System with RGB Lighting - Black/Gray.

I was surprised by how cool this processor runs within my gaming PC. I am able to keep it under 38-42 C with my Corsair cooler at full load. Great processor with lots of features that work for my setup. Paired it with a Z390 Motherboard and an RTX 2080 from MSI. This was the last part I needed for my build and it was available for a competitive price at my local store.

While this CPU certainly will not keep up with the i9s and the 2700xs it also isn't any where near those price points. Great gaming performance, however it does struggle a bit with rendering and general workstation extreme loads. But if you just want a gaming rig, this CPU will meet your demands all day long.

When looking for a budget computer, I had a choice to go AMD Ryzen or Intel and I choose to go Intel and give it a shot. I was really surprised by the load times been very minimal for a low end CPU. I gave 5 out of 5 stars because I still have no complaints about it

This is the best i5 on the market. Stock boost clock sits at 4.4-4.7ghz. But thanks to a Noctua NH-D15 cpu coolerb I was able to get a stable 5.2ghz out of mine at 71c. That's pretty dang good if you ask me

The 9600K is an ok cpu. Don`t expect overclocking fantasy. You can squeeze out a lil performance before running into heat issues. Will run the latest AAA games

I was getting bottlenecked on my RTX 2080 with my i3-8100, so I upgraded to this and now my frame rate has increase significantly on some games like GTAV

My only issue was that this is a Gen 9 processor and the original motherboard only supported Gen 8. Once I bought the correct MB the speed was phenomenal.

Was skeptical on going with the i5 instead of the i7, but am very pleased with it. Little guy is a tank. Handles everything you throw at it.

Great processor for the money. However 9600k chips seem to be lower binned chip, hard to get these to clock 5ghz or beyond. But still a good chip.

Solid cpu and still works great for all the major games right now. A good budget choice if your not entirely sold on the i7 or i9.

Was on the fence about a cpu but this was the best you can get in an i5 currently. And it’s darn close to i7 performance for a lot less

Probably the best value for most gamers on the intel side. Quite capable with OC too but stock specs are decent enough.
