Installed processor in a new Asus Prime z490-A motherboard and found that the built in video does not work. I now need to buy a separate video card. Even thought It has been less than a month I cannot return it.

This is a great CPU with awesome performance. It goes through everything no problem. Works quickly in work and play. I have another PC with an i5-10400. Compared to that CPU, there isn't much of a difference. The i7 is a little faster. However, the i7 runs much warmer than the i5. I think the i7 will hold up better over time but I would consider the i5 if you are looking to save money.

Very powerful processor, probably better for content creation/editing than gaming, but good for gaming, too. Keep in mind that even though Intel lists this as a 65 Watt TDP CPU, it will use much more power than that. TDP doesn't mean power use, but in most cases, it's close enough that TDP has become synonymous with power usage. With Intel's current CPUs the TDP is listed as PL1, which means all cores running at base frequency(no turbo). At full turbo boost, this CPU can pull over 200W(for a short time), and all core turbo will pull more than 65W, so keep this in mind for cooling & PSU choices. Still a great CPU.

I am glad I got i7 over the i5 10400. The multi thread performance is amazing, and I won't need to upgrade the processor for quite a while. I had to get a new MOBO, and got a Tuf B460M. Using the Asus Performance Enhancement, and Performance mode significantly boosts gaming performance. Think of it as "overclocking" for locked processors. Best purchase in quite a long time. Got a Noctua NH0U9S cooler, and it does a great job in keeping the CPU nice and cool.

Great CPU. I was worried about it only be 2.9ghz but it performs great. Runs all cores at 4.6 when stress testing. Upgraded from an FX 8350 and the performance difference is spectacular. Averaging over 180fps in games like battlefield at 1080p high detail on an RX 580! Fallen order on high averages over 200fps! The FX 8350 would only average in the 80's on high. Great upgrade. Put a deepcool assasin twin tower on this and it keeps it nice and cool. Games are now buttery smooth on my 144hz monitor. Love it

Great CPU for all regular tasks as well as most games. Runs Super cool with single/dual tower CPU coolers, XMP is enabled for Z490 boards and stays really cool and quiet during a variety of workloads.

Never thought I'd buy a non-K chip but the price was right so I bit. I'm very happy with the boosts, and gaming fps increased around 30fps from my 2700x. (Sometimes more in MMOs)

I installed this on the first pc I’ve ever made and it was very easy to install. Performance is very good use it for videos editing and it’s up to my speed

Great CPU mainly used for gaming and schoolwork. Loads OS really fast and feels great.

A great CPU. Installs easily and the stock cooler that comes with it works great, plus it already has thermal paste applied. Installed in a few minutes. Excellent for Gaming, Office work and multitasking. I paired it with an RTX2070 super, works great.

Absolutely amazing core I7 with an Insane psychical 8 cores. This is a better value buy than getting the unlocked series in my opinion since you save power consumption AND this comes with a cooler already where as the unlocked K doesnt. I've been having an impeccable time using this bad boy.
