Works great, runs hot

Out of the box it was instantky going to 100C during stress tests. Did a little tweaking and dropped down to about 95C. May need to do a little more work.

high end at low(er) cost

Depending on your needs, you could get away with an i5 K, or you could spend more money on an i9 whatever. The i7 is the superior choice for the user interested in above average computing and gaming. Excellent for VMs

Runs hot so you need a good cooling system to take advantage. I have a nice AIO and can barely handle it at 100% before it thermal throttles.

This cpu is super powerful allowing you to game without bottlenecking cpu wise for a long time and the productivity is amazing. Don't rely on the just "the numbers", get this for the reliability and because its convenient.

What I expected

Couldn’t tell a difference, but that’s expected because both are fast. The annoyance of the voltage issues I had to worry about was not ideal and Intel has since fixed it. This generation is just as good, if not better than their current gen Core lineup. If you can save some money with this gen you should consider it.
