Customers value the Core i9-14900K's overall performance, citing its excellent capabilities in handling demanding tasks and delivering a great user experience. However, some users have noted that the processor runs warm under heavy workloads, suggesting the need for effective cooling solutions. Positive feedback highlights its strong performance and ability to meet expectations. Concerns regarding heat generation should be considered when planning a system build.

It's a good chip if you need lots of threads. If that's not as important, the 14700 and 14600 are both better value for money. Additionally, motherboard manufacturers do lots of dumb things to make sure their boards perform half a percent better than competitors' offerings. The problem with this mentality is that on Intel platforms, it means they often exceed Intel's specs by a lot. In the case of both MSI and ASUS, they do not set power or current limits. This leads to excessive heat, power consumption and shortened CPU life due to degradation. If you run one of these chips, you should definitely consider setting PL1, PL2 and ICCmax to Intel's recommended values depending on your cooling.

Zips through compressed files like no other. Great Gaming performance when paired with a high end Graphics card.
I’m running this on an MSI z690 Unify-X motherboard and I have no issues at all with it. It runs well. Power consumption is high but it gives my custom loop purpose. I have a 32GB kit of DDR5-7200 RAM and it runs XMP with no issues and I don’t have to make additional voltage tweaks to make it work.
I wish the E-cores had less latency. If you’re moving files around you’ll sometimes see it takes the E-core a bit to ramp up and get going. This is because some of the E-Cores do not have direct access to the L3 cache.

Before you purchase this CPU please also purchase alongside of it purchase a 360 AiO as well, this CPU is in need of it. I'm not trying to say that to scare you but it runs warm. In my (asus) bios I turned on "Disabled-Enforce all limits" so that the motherboard doesn't try to do on the fly OC to keep temps low and stability up. I haven't had any crashes or stability issues at all. I did a full platform upgrade from the 10900k to this, I kept my RTX 3080 and the performance bump was actually fully noticeable. I'd say my average temperature for doing basic computing is around 37c with my Lian Li Galahad II Trinity 360. It's a monster of a CPU genuinely and if you are in the market for an upgrade don't hesitate you won't regret it.

I bought this CPU and paired it with a 4070ti, I genuinely cannot find a game that won’t run 1440p 240hz at max settings. This processor is so good that I’m convinced my monitor is a bottleneck now. 15/10 would buy again.

Wow, this CPU makes my head spin. There have been reports that this CPU runs hot. So, with the in mind, with no overclocking and Corsair H100I water cooling, CPU temps are 32c to 37c in very warm room under normal Windows. When playing Call of Duty, temps are barely hitting 40c. Now Lightroom is the big test with the program running without a hitch and extremely smooth, with temp running around 50c.
Intel's top dog does not disappoint!!

This processor can handle anything you throw at it! I had to upgrade my older 7700k because it was causing a bottle neck. I knew to expect a jump in frames while gaming but this blew my mind. One thing to keep in mind is that this processor will get hot. I would recommend getting a 360mm AIO just for some peace of mind. These can run hot and are still safe, I just like to see lower cooler numbers for my own personal sanity.

Upgraded to the i9-14900K from a i7 and it’s been nothing short of incredible. This chip chews through everything I throw at it — gaming, streaming, editing, you name it. Temperatures stay manageable with a good cooler, and performance is buttery-smooth across the board.
Games launch instantly, multitasking feels effortless, and heavy workloads finish in record time. You can really tell Intel pushed this one to perfection — it’s fast, responsive, and future-proof for years to come.
If you want top-tier performance without compromise, the 14900K is 100% worth it. Easily one of the best purchases I’ve made for my build!

Holy macoroni, this thing is a beast from the east... its the fastest cpu ever made... the problem is out of the box its a enthusiast cpu.. it runs extremly hot.. which means you need enthusiast cooling... out of the box it doesnt work. You have to go into the bios and change settings for it to work. Once you dial it in, its a jet going mach 10... but you need experience in the bios and experience with voltages/sa voltages...

These get a lot of bad press but honestly I never see a problem with any of the 6 intel gen 13 and gen 14 i9 cpu's that I own spread across several pc's .
USE WITH WATERCOOLING !!! Don't even think about an air cooler . I have used this chip with ARTIC liquid freezer 3 420mm AIO and the temps hover in the low 80's at maximum output in Cinebench . If your looking for low temps in the 60's youll need to use direct die cooling and liquid metal

This chip is a process improvement over the 13th gen chips. If you want to plug and play this isnt it. The power limits are set to unlimited on most motherboards so this thing is like that one uncle who shows up when the party is open bar, it will take all it can until its too drunk to dance. Setting appropriate limits in your BIOS will reign it in and you could see some performance gains over 13th gen chips, but mostly it will perform about the same while using less power. Youtube DeBauer 14900k or JayzTwoCents 14900k for an explanation. PL1/PL2 @253 is Intel recommended. If your already on a 13900k skip this, it's not worth the cost. 11th, 10th, or earlier gens, it could be worth it.

Intel's Core i9-14900K processor is essentially the Core i9-13900K with a slight clock boost, but a bit more prone to overheating and throttling. If you can find a 13900K for less money, opt for it, as the 14900K is much the same chip in practice.
