Simple to use; fast scanning time. Have not tried it with film or slides yet, but does a good job with some old black and white and color prints,

I copied over 1000 slides to SD card, while you are limited in touch up options the DIY option is much cheaper than sending slides out. Machine worked as advertised.

The product delivers clean, crisp images from my old slides. It's a little cumbersome to use at times but, other than that, it's fine.

Was able to scan dozens of photos and slides in less than an hour. This would have taken far longer on a traditional flatbed scanner.

This is a great scanner for digitizing your family photos. All our relatives have sent us boxes of old photos and we quickly scanned them and burned them to DVDs and cloud albums for sharing and safe keeping. I really like the SD card option so I can travel with this away from my computer or internet access and still scan. Works great with Mac computers and I can only assume it would be equally great on Windows machines.

This product has been very easy to use. You are able to start without reading instructions and you can see the picture on the screen from the negative very clearly. It is time consuming since you have to load each negative but I checked on sending negatives into a company and it ranged from 22-79 cents per negative plus you would have to pay for all of them. On this you can scan only the pictures you want to keep and can also edit them on the spot. I haven't taken any of them to be printed yet so I am not 100% on what the quality will be of it but I now have them on a disc and can upload them to my computer so overall I am super happy.
*I haven't scanned any pictures in only negatives but that looks to be easy also

The instructions aren't perfect, but it's easy to figure out how to make this thing work. I have scanned hundreds of slides, negatives and prints, and most of them look just fine. You could probably get better resolution from sending them away to a processor, but this works great for building a digital library of your photos. And you can fix problems with the photos with the software on your computer. I loved being able to control the digital file - after scanning - with my own cropping and adjusting. Also, it's great that it allows you to scan slides, negatives and prints. Not many machines let you do all three. And if you have a lot of photos to scan, this will save you money over sending them to a processor.

Easy to use, the images from slides and negatives transferred really well, even when viewed on a large screen TV. I did not have good results with photos. I should have purchased this companies product that just does slides and negatives.

This is the second "ION PICS 2 SD" that I have owned. The first one worked well and I was able to scan several hundred photos over several months of use - the images were clear. HOWEVER, when I started the unit up again and inserted the USB cable, the female adapter in the machine broke off and fell inside. The unit is sealed with no way to retrieve the adapter short of cutting a hole. I purchased a second unit and bought the protection plan (strongly suggested). Expecting the same quality of images, I scanned a couple hundred photos. When I reviewed the images, I noted there were shadows and light areas that were not on the photos (the shadows and light areas were consistent on every image). I tried various settings on the scanner but was not successful in totally removing the shadows and light areas short of making the images super dark. Perhaps this is just a defective unit and I can get it replaced at Best Buy.

I purchased this scanner to save old photographs to digital format as part of family history compilation. So far, its worked well on photographs but I haven't started scanning 35mm slides as yet. I don't anticipate any major problems. The instructions could be a little clearer in the way they are written, but with some effort and trial & error experience, the use of the device becomes easy. People considering a purchase should check both the on-line price and the in-store price.... the on-line price was less at the time of my purchase.

This works very well for transferring negatives and slides. The ability to copy pictures is nice, but it doesn't zoom in if the picture doesn't take up the full screen. You can crop it out later, but it takes a little more time. I still really needed something that worked well, and this accomplished that.

Most pictures turned out good but a few were way lighter than orignal. Will have to play around with it more. But otherwise really like.
