Unfortunately, this did not work well for me. The mount area was too small to securely hold my iPhone 11. The phone kept spinning on it with car movement. Had to return.

I was excited to use this since the other magnetic chargers for the vent. when I tried to put this in my cd slot it was too thick and couldn't go in

Phone keep falling off. Don't think the magnet is strong enough. Also can't put any pressure on the phone as it will fall off.

It’s too low hits shifter in car. It is sturdy . You have to have phone sideways instead

Doesn’t stay on tight on cd holder. Not sure if it fits better on other cd holders but feels like it’ll fall with a severe bump on the road.

I took mine for a quick spin after installing and experienced no issue with the Smart Phone slipping or falling while rotating from portrait to side view. Overall, I think the iOttie iTap 2 Magnetic CD Slot Mount is a great hands free companion to have for your Smart Phone that will enhance your driving experience as needed.

The phone doesn't stay on it for long, specially once you are driving any little bump and it falls.

Just not strong enough for larger current generation phones

The iOttie - iTap 2 Magnetic CD Slot Car Mount is perfect for my needs. A quick, easy mount for my iPhone in the (very rarely used) CD slot of my car dash. It installed in seconds and has been used ever since. Two things to consider: - You need to place a metal plate on the back of your phone for it to connect magnetically to the mount. When I had the plate in the middle of the back of my iPhone, wireless charging (Qi) did not work. I moved it higher and have had no problems since. Try out the position of the plate before using adhesive (if you choose to). I don't use adhesive, as my thin case holds the plate in place. - If you have a phone case that is too thick, it may not stick to the magnet as well. For me, this is exactly what I needed and I highly recommend it. P.S. The mount also can be withdrawn from the CD slot quickly and easily for those times you do need to use it.

The magnet holds my iPhone but it’s hard to get it to stay upright when driving unless your driving on a smooth roadway.

I took it back. My iPhone 11 Pro Max constantly fell off.

After installed went to test it on the road. Sadly, any medium bump and the phone tilts and drops. Will return item.

This product doesn’t work at all. I placed it in my CD player and it sticks out way to far. Okay, not what I was expecting but I can get over that. I placed my phone on it and began driving. After the first bump, my phone fell off. I kept trying it for the remainder of the day but the same issue kept coming up. Bump, fall. Bump, fall. There are better products out there, search for them.

I returned this product because I didn't want to place a magnet on the back of my phone or case.

Crap - the phone rotates and then falls off - even on a smooth road..

Could make it better. This is not good for iPhone max due to screen size.

Best mount ever — and it fits in the obsolete cd slot. I’ve had the magnetic mounts that clip to the air vents, and they divert the precious cold air in the summer. This mount is sturdy and holds my phone and iPad mini without any trouble. Be forewarned that if you use wireless charging- you’ll need to swap your phone case every time you drive or rig a phone holder that clips to this so it doesn’t block charging when not mounted. I was reluctant to stick the magnetic plate on the glass of my iPhone XS Max— and much to my surprise, they included a clear protective film that you can stick the magnet to. After discovering the wireless charging issue, I simply removed it and put it in a case [with the magnetic plate] only when driving.

I have an iPhone XS Max and it doesn't hold up well, but if you have an iPhone X or a 'regular' sized phone it works well. The magnets are super strong. The device utilizes two of our car's cd players and we dont' swap out discs often anyway. Definitely more sturdy than the ones that connect to the air vent. I feel that this is a hit or miss depending on the size of your phone, so it'll be 5 stars or 3 stars, hence 4 stars to be conservative. It does its job for regular-sized phones. I would still recommend this.
