Not the best product for your phone. It often falls off the magnet. I have tried several different tilts with this and none of them he’d the phone. It would fall off with any bump or rough spot on the road. Do not recommend this product.

it sucks for large phones, continuously tilts and fall off magnet. I now have a holder that has N,S at the top and S,N at the bottom. it sticks and has not twisted it self off due to car motion. Hope this helps.

Unboxed it, slapped the metal plate on my phone. The CD slot clamp was too weak put phone on magnetic thing. Fell to the floor. Can't return unless I want to damage my phone case to remove the metal plate. 25 dollars for a metal backplate whooptie doo.

I wanted to love this product, but it just isn't sturdy enough for the job. I use an Iphone XR which to me is moderate size of today's devices. The mount was flimsy and constantly moved and I returned the product because of this.

This product didn’t work very well. It was easily dislodged with the slightest touch which meant our cellphones fell several times. Frustrating.

Just what I've been looking for

I've had a few of these (not this brand) that clip to the vent and grip the phone, they've all been horrible. They either don't hold the phone or don't stay on the vent. To start this is made of metal, that in itself is amazing considering the throw away society we've become and everything being made from cheap plastic, somebody finally built something to last. I took it on some bumpy roads and railroad tracks to see how it would hold up. Of course there was a little bit of shake but the phone did not move from the base and the base did not fall out of the CD slot. For us older people who still use CD's and don't stream everything it doesn't effect playing CD's except for having to remove it to put one in. You do have to kind of twist the phone to remove it so you don't pull the whole thing from the slot. I used the external plate on my phone case, it is fairly thin and looks like it is part of the case. The only downside I can see is the metal plate you stick to your phone. This is such a quality made product that I think it will outlast your phone, especially the younger people who get a new phone every two years. For that reason I wish they had given 2 of each of the plates so you could get at least 4 years without having to buy a new plate from the company or trying to find a way to attach the old one. Other than that this looks like and feels like a quality product meant to last.

Would not hold up ANY of the three phones we use, even without the case on the phone. Maybe ours was defective who knows but I’d encourage you to look at other brands before you purchase this one.

Returning the mount because it blocks the AC control and/or the radio controls. Being magnetic also prevents the phone from being charges by a wireless charger.

This mount works great to take advantage of the CD slot most people do not use. It mounted perfect without having to use the adapter in my truck. You get two size magnetic plates for your phone. The smaller one secured to my phone well. It holds securely when connected to the mount and easily adjusted.

The iTap2 magnetic CD slot phone holder is an ingenious idea. If your car's vents are the type that can't support holding the weight of a bracket and phone, then this could be your answer. The iTap2 is very well constructed and sturdy. It has an innovative design that has you insert rubber-covered "fins" into your CD slot in the dash. You then tighten a clip that causes the middle fin to move upward, creating pressure against the edges of the CD slot that holds the mount in place. Once locked in like this, it's basically impossible for it to fall out. It's also pretty tough to unlock that clip, so it's best if you are able to leave it in place for a while. You also shouldn't have a CD in the slot when you use this mount. I'm not sure if this would hold true for multi-CD players, so you may want to see what others are saying about that. Depending on how much you use your CD player, this could be a big drawback. The part that holds the phone is a magnetic base on a ball joint. This allows you to move it to whatever position gives you the angle you want. This is difficult to move, but that's as it should be, since you don't want your phone moving around while you're driving. The magnet connects to a metal plate that you put either on the back of the phone itself, or inside the phone's case. Two sizes of plates are provided, a larger one and a smaller one. The small one is designed to be small enough not to block the Qi charging area on your phone, if you have that. Ideally, you want the plate to be in the middle back of your phone, so that it doesn't spin around, but that will depend on your phone and what works best for you. Once everything is in place, the mount holds the phone securely and works very well. The only issue I found (and this could be a big one) is that your phone may block access to buttons on the dash. You'll want to take this into account before you buy the iTap2. The position of your CD slot makes all the difference. If there's nothing you need to access behind the phone, then you'll have no problem and this mount will provide a secure and well-built alternative to window mounted holders or vent mounted holders. If all of this sounds good to you, then I think you'll enjoy the iTap2 magnetic phone mount.
