Magnet does not hold well. Unable to use as designed.

Works great in CD player! I love this, it got my phone away from the vents to keep it from overheating, and I like that it can be angled in any direction so it's easy to use while driving. I can clearly see my phone without having to touch it. It's super stable once in place, and I've had no issues with my phone moving at all.

This cell phone mount is good. It inserts into your CD player. That fact is good and bad depending on your car. For me the mount blocked my dashboard camera and the screen for my radio. This may not be a hinderance for you, but it was for me. That is the bad. The good is that the design is unique. The magnet is strong. The build quality is excellent, but if you have the set up I have for my car, the annoyance of blocking my screen is enough to make it lose 1 star. I still recommend the item. Just do your homework.

I already have an iOttie dash phone mount, but for my work phone and sometimes for passengers I wanted to have a second mount, and since I never listen to CDs anymore a CD-based mount was a natural option. This one works pretty well, exactly as advertised, and the documentation warns that the metals plates for the phone and case may well interfere with wireless charging if not carefully placed. So it's not a problem but it's important to be aware aware of it before you stick the plates to your phone and case. In my case I found it did in fact block wireless charging until moved lower, which is exactly what the documentation suggests. So with that one caveat I found this a really nice way to get some good use out of a CD slot I never use anyway. And if by chance I do need it someday, this is super easy to remove when you need to. The mount was secure enough and never came off despite one trip down a particularly bumpy country road on my way to a friend's rustic wedding just this last weekend. My only "dislike" is that being a magnetic mount the phone rotates very easily, too easily for my preference. It's a hardly a major shortcoming, some may even like it, but I found that the slightest bump of the phone or tug on the power cord would change the phone's orientation. It never came off, but with this mount I found myself needing to adjust the phone position more often than I'd like, enough that even though I think it's OK for what it is, it's not a mount design I'd use again or personally recommend.

The iTap2 serves its purpose and has worked well so far. It comes with 2 (1 large and 1 small) adhesive-backed metal plates that attach to your phone or phone case and provide the magnetic connection. Once attached to your device, the adhesive is very strong and leads me to believe that although quite secure, these plates are not reusable once removed unless you use your own adhesive. The instructions say to mount the plate lower on the phone to prevent interference and wireless charging still works on my Galaxy S9. The mount inserts easily into the CD slot and the locking lever takes a considerable amount of force to close. The lever spreads the tabs inside the CD player making it a fairly tight fit but mine still has a lot of up and down play to it. So far so good though as the magnetic connection between the holder and the plate on my phone case is secure but watching it bounce makes me wish the fit in the CD slot was a bit more snug. From the driver's seat of a Toyota Sienna, the iTap2 and attached device don't block any of the vehicle controls or displays.

This is a nifty little device that is handy to use while traveling. If you want something to hold your phone for directions or anything else while you drive, this is it. Setup was super easy, and installs quickly in the cd slot. Held my phone firmly once I attached the magnets to the phone. Only downside I see to this is that it is a bit bulky, and not everyone still has a "cd player" slot on their multimedia display these days. Most newer cars actually come without them. Not to say this has anything to do with this being a bad product, but IOttie is going to have to figure something else out quick moving forward as this device is gonna be obsolete. I would recommend at the right price.

The Magnets on this are quite strong given they are neodymium based. I've actually been using this for my nVidia Shield Tablet and it's been working well, granted it's main purpose is for use with phones and such, it can work with some tablets assuming they are light enough. I do wish it came with more than one set of magnets to apply to multiple devices though as I don't always have my tablet with me. Knowing it holds that fine, I have no doubt it will hold my phone which is an LG V30. I do like that there's no need to put any adhesive on your car and I never use the CD Player so it's not an issue that it's blocked. If you're looking for something that will hold up your device but don't want to start putting adhesive all over your car this is a fantastic option.

It comes with 2 metal backs for attaching to the mount. It REALLY holds tight, just went on a road trip this weekend and it was great, held my Essential phone without issues, and keeps it lower than windshield mounts, which I like. Anyone with vents close to their CD player may have an issue with air blowing on the back of the phone, but mine is just low enough that it works great! (2012 Chevy Sonic)

When I got this phone mount, I was worried that the magnets wouldn't be strong enough to reliably hold my phone while driving. I am pleasantly surprised that this is not the case. Even just slipping the metal piece in my phone case is enough to hold my phone in place, even on bumpy roads.

Mount is great. However if you stick the metal piece on the back of an iPhone X and you use a wireless charger (I use Anker) it won't charge phone threw that metal piece. You can maneuver the metal piece around towards the bottom of the phone, and wireless charging will work, but you are now attaching phone to mount in an awkward spot.

Forreal. So dope. Holds your phone in place. Perfect.
