I've tested multiple times and my brother in law also owns one, he just cut off the power cable because his stopped working too.

I’ve had to remove and re-attach just to find the right spot for me to be comfortable place my phone and it stays very well! Also, some other products have dropped my phones, heavy or not, once I hit a big bump but, not this one. Love it!
