Coming from the Roomba 690, which I’ve used and loved for the past couple years, I was curious to see what the Braava jet m6 mop could do, both in the department of being a mop instead of a vacuum and having the extra mapping and navigation features my Roomba does not. I came away from my experience impressed and I would not have a problem recommending this to anyone with a mostly hardwood/tile floor plan.
In the box you get the mop, the charging dock, and a drip tray that attaches to the dock. You can attach wet or dry pads to the bottom of the mop and there are 2 of each included (single-use), as well as small bottle of cleaning solution for the mop pads. I feel like iRobot was a little stingy about the amount of supplies they include in the box, which only gets you 4 cleaning runs before you have to go out and buy more stuff. The extra pads and solution aren’t terribly expensive, but for how much you’re spending on this there should be more in there.
Setup was straightforward and simple with the app. Having been through it before with my Roomba the process was somewhat familiar to me. I like the charging dock/tray combination - it takes up more space than my Roomba’s dock, but it feels more secure and less likely to get knocked askew.
Once the m6 was charged up I attached a pad and put it through its first run in mopping mode. There’s a small tank inside of the m6 and I filled that up with water and some of the cleaning solution. The m6 runs in a back and forth motion; going forward a few feet, backing up, spraying some water, and then going forward again to the next section. I live in a townhome that’s all hardwood on the first floor. The living room, hallway, kitchen, and dining area are all in the same general space, but are segmented by some walls. The m6 navigated the whole area well and due to its smaller size was able to get into spaces my Roomba normally cannot. The way in which it moves is fairly predictable with its navigation sensors and it doesn’t just bump into things and head off in a random direction like other vacuums do. I did notice that as it went on and the mop pad became more damp it started to leave streaks on my floor, which concerned me at first, but eventually it made dry passes back over most of those spaces and cleared them up. There were still some streaks in some of less open spaces, but those faded after a while. Another nice thing was that it detected the beacon I had already setup for my Roomba, which I wasn’t sure if it would do, and avoided my dog’s food/water dish area. Overall the first mopping run took about 2 hours on my 300ish square foot floor plan and it did not have to go back to charge during that time. I was very satisfied with the results and it cleaned the floors just as well as my normal mop. I was hoping that after the initial run I might be able to squeeze another one of the same single-use pad, but looking at it afterwards I knew I would not be able to. I guess that speaks to how effectively the m6 cleans, but it still brings back my frustrations about the lack of pads included in the box. I ran the m6 with the sweeping pad a couple days later and it completed its run in about half the time, which makes sense since it doesn’t need to run the sprayer and do the back and forth motion that the mopping mode does. The m6 automatically detects what kind of pad is attached to it, so there’s no need to specify what mode to run it in. Though I was not able to test this as my first floor is all hardwood, it’s also supposed to be able to detect when it’s on carpet (via the additional resistance on the wheels) to prevent it from spraying.
You can start and schedule cleaning jobs in the iRobot app. The app is well designed and easy to use. It’s got some basic settings for the robot and you can adjust the cleaning power, as well as the amount of liquid sprayed in mopping mode, which may help with streaking issues I mentioned earlier. You can also connect the app to you Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa and command by voice, which I was able to do without an issue on my Google Assistant.
The app also has the mapping data that the m6 takes on its cleaning runs. After the initial run it was shown as 50% complete, even though the map itself looked complete to me. I ran another cleaning job and a couple more ‘training’ runs to get it to 100%. My guess is it needs to make multiple passes to confirm the room dimensions. I like the Smart Maps feature a lot and it makes it very easy to insert virtual dividers and segment rooms. You can choose to clean the entire floor or specific ‘rooms’, which is handy if you need to clean one space more often than others.
After using the m6 my overall impression is that I won’t be needing my Roomba on the first floor anymore. If you’re deciding between a robot vacuum or a mop I would definitely recommend the mop for hardwood/tile floors, though the cost of purchasing the pads will add up over time, which is why I eventually plan to get the reusable pads

I'm a stickler for clean floors, always have been. So much so that my family knows not to bother cleaning them and allow me to obsess about them; at least that's what I tell myself since I'm the only one that winds up cleaning them. I have had several high end vacuums over the years, from handhelds to robots and everything in between. That being said, I was excited to add the iRobot Braava M6 Robot Mop to my playlist in an effort to give myself more "me" time and not obsess as much. At first glance, it seems pretty underwhelming but after a couple uses I have been overly impressed. I was a little concerned after setting it up, downloading the smartphone app and letting it bounce off my furniture as it seemed to take forever to maneuver between chairs and around rugs. However, after it's first run, I opened the app only to realize it had mapped out my hardwood floors for future cleaning. Since it is a bit bigger than the previous model, it covers more floor space but is still small enough to find it's way under chair and table legs. Mind you, I take pride in my clean floors by cleaning them at least once a week but the stuff this little robot picked up made them look even better and might have put me out of a job. After the second and third cleaning, I now can rely on the Braava mop to keep up the maintenance on the floors and you can set a schedule for the cleanings in the app; you just need to make sure you have a clean pad on the bottom and a full tank of cleaning solution. My only gripe is they only included two disposable wet pads, two disposable dry pads and a small container of cleaning solution in the box. I would plan on investing a little more money in reusable pads or additional disposable pads along with more cleaning solution in the first month. I also would suggest only buying the iRobot cleaning solution because it not only did a great job picking up the dirt and dust, it did not leave unwanted streaks on my floors. I would recommend the iRobot Braava M6 Robot mop to anyone with a floor obsession like myself if you're willing to fork out the money which, in my opinion, is worth it for the time I'm saving not having to obsess over clean floors.

I am older now and mopping hurts my back. So my floors were not maintained well. I needed something that worked. I use my robot vacuum first then the robot mop. My floors have never looked better. Do yourself a favor and the the washable pads.
Pros- App is very easy to use. Works with Alexa and Google home. Cleans well. Once the home is mapped it works very well.
Cons- If you want to add cleaner to the water, you must use the IRobot cleaner or void the warranty. (work around, put the cleaner of your choice directly on the floor) Mapping the home takes a while. Larger homes may require two separate maps.

The Good:
- Setup was simple as with all iRobot products
- Connected to wireless network in minutes and integrated with Amazon Echo right away
- Packaging is well made and what you would expect from a higher cost product
- First mopping job is running as I write this review and seems to be doing a reasonable job
- It did about 1/3 of the space in about an hour. It is back on the dock charging since it was only about 50% charged upon arrival.
- Floors look fresh and the included bottle of iRobot brand wet cleaning solution smells nice
- Major, major upgrade from Braava 380t is the auto dock and recharging capability - worth the price of admission for previous Braava 380t owners!
- It is my understanding it will learn our floor layout over time and we can selectively identify which rooms for it to go clean. I'm really looking forward to this since we often do not use our Braava 380t in every room but just the ones that need some extra cleaning - kitchen especially!
The Bad:
- Not thrilled about the high cost of wet and dry mop disposable pads (roughly a dollar USD per)
- Limited approved cleaning solution options. iRobot's support site directs you to use iRobot brand cleaning solution only and it will void the warranty if you do not!
- There is a support article for the Braava 300 series that indicates the use of Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner, Clorox Ready Mop and water are the only other non-iRobot pre-approved cleaning solutions. The Braava m-series documentation does not. It says only to use the iRobot brand cleaning solution.
- Navigation back to the dock needs improvement. It does not take into consideration the area it has already mopped. Not as big a deal for dry mopping or vacuuming but when mopping it can leave streaks. I am hoping iRobot can adjust the logic to do a trim pass or similar along the exterior of the space to reduce the amount of streaking that can happen.
Final thoughts (for now):
- If you get excited by technology, love integrating things in your home and value your time more than things like mopping the floor, I personally feel this is a good purchase.
- Looks and feels like a $500 USD product - modern look, great integration with mobile app and third party systems like Amazon Echo
- Major upgrade from the 380t - auto docking, water reservoir, floor mapping and connectivity features
- Would like to see iRobot create a partnership with a few liquid floor cleaning solutions that would be considered "approved" and not void the warranty
- Would like to see a "bundle" option where I can buy the pads and the cleaning solution together

I will start by saying that I don't know why people rate it bad.
If we understand that this is a small robot, we shouldn't be so harsh on it.
Ok, it might miss a few spots. It's not a person. its a small machine.
But why don't we look at the overall result? A very clean apartment!
Remove the obstacles and let it do it's magic! You will have a very clean house! I am using it on an apartment, so flat surfaces with hardfloor wood.
Awesome, clean, spotless floors every time!
Contrary to the roomba vacuum, which can sort of jump on slightly uneven surfaces (i.e. the surface between the bathroom tiles and the hardwood), this cannot do it. It cannot do it for a reason:
It can only mop, if it's very low, touching the floor, pressing on the cleaning pad. That means it won't be able to overcome even the slightest surface.
If you are ok with it, it is amazing!
If I had a house with carpets, uneven surfaces, stairs etc... I think it wouldn't work.
But for a flat apartment its amazing! the house smells divine and the floors are super clean.
Also, it is SUPER QUIET!
I also have the new Roomba S9+ which is powerful but VERY LOUD and this Bravaa is so quite I can easily sleep next to it. Sometimes I try to hear if it still works in the other room! very pleasant in the sound.
Overall : amazing to me. Well done Roomba, I love you Brava M6!!

I received this as a gift for Mother's day after we received our new puppy. It takes a few days for "moppy" to learn your floor plan, and when you get to view the plan it is not easy to tell what direction you are looking at the mop so creating rooms is a little tricky. The mop itself works great, most of my area rugs it was able to tell right away they were rugs and did not mop there. The only issue it had is my thin rug. It could not tell it was a rug and would mop there until I used the app to make it a "do not mop" area. The mop is a little sensitive you have to follow an almost exact routine when you refill and change the mop head, or it might not run as scheduled. The mop doesn't hold a ton of fluid (water) so I have to refill before every mop run. Also I use both the reusable and the single use wet mop pads, the single use is easy to tell how much it picked up, the multi use often I wonder if it cleaned anything. I have only used water and the robot solution (you can order a case from the manufacture), the result is great little to no streaking, no stickiness, and clean floors. I run mine every morning before the house is really up and moving (the mop has to have light to work), it would be nice if they could run at night. The mop is quiet, you can hear it but its not annoying. I love my mop!

Overall, when the robot does its job properly, it is excellent.
With that said, there are times when the robot will get lost or stuck. When I woke the other morning it had stopped about 6 feet from the base (in perfect line of sight) and died because it couldn’t find the base (the base is positioned as recommended by iRobot). Also, when the robot gets stuck and no one is around to rescue it you’re left with a partial job complete.
The robot does a great job dry and wet mopping, but it seems like the robot will “obsess” over certain areas and take less time in others.
One other frustration is it will not enter other rooms if a transition piece over a certain height is present. We have a transition piece between our kitchen and living room and living room and foyer. The transition piece appears to be at or slightly higher than the height the robot uses to detect what could be an obstacle or rug. Frankly I wish you could control it and tell it to try harder to pass those transitions. Once in a while the robot will take a proper angle approach and make the transition, but that is rare.
The mapping software is good and the robot will focus on your whole floor plan or certain rooms you dictate using the mapping. Room barriers can be created to show the different areas and you can tell the robot to work only in a specific room.
I’m the beginning I was having problems with the robot getting stuck in its base. Contacting iRobot for help proved useful and they were able to help resolve the issue.

I have never owned a robotic vacuum or mop, but did quite a bit of research before buying this one. It was recommended by a friend with hardwood floors. This thing is well worth the money. We moved and a majority of one level of our house is LVP (luxury vinyl floor). Too much to mop by hand...so we used this. It really works hard and the floor looks amazing. I use only water, no chemicals, and had to use it with no wifi, while we wait for internet to get hooked up. We even picked it up and took it to another area in the house with LVP and it did really well there too. Battery and water last a long time and it goes back to its station when done, battery is low or water is empty. I used washable mop pads and they have been washed a few times with no issues. Compatible with iPhone and android. Highly recommend this sweeper/mop.

Can’t be happier to have this wonderful mop it actually works well. Everything was there high-quality of the two I would only buy one that actually does one thing well and this does it well.

After all the research that i've done for mopping robots, it appeared this seemed to be the only real option considering it actually sprays. Most of the other ones use wet towels or something to that degree to 'mop' the floor. I read the other reviews and I do agree that just because of the name irobot doesn't mean that it is so great.
To be honest I was less enthusiastic about it as my wife was. One thing to note is that it is really quiet. Initially my frustrations seemed to be set aside once I got the tank filled and set it on the charger. There after connecting it to WIFI I decided to do the recommended room scan. I completed that twice and not once did it get stuck (thank god).
It has only been a few weeks, but so far I'd say it's good, but far from perfect. It did get stuck once or twice during an actual cleaning session, but that doesn't bother me as much as my other irobot. Furthermore, it is extremely quiet which I like and wish my other vaccum would be more quiet, but that isn't the case.

I’ve had a Roomba ( and different brands prior to that) for half a decade and have been searching for something to match it for mooping. When I originally searched years ago they just weren’t effective enough to consider. The original had a small range or could cover at random and you had to remove the battery and charge it after use. Fast forward and I finally one I love . It uses bona solution (which is what I used already) , it has a mop and sweep feature (it knows which mode automatically when you connect the pads) and has super smart navigation.
Found it on sale for 300 (normally 450) and I wasn’t let down. It took about four hours the first time I mapped it all out . It returns to the charger automatically and then goes back and finishes what it started so battery is irrelevant. It mapped the entire place and it suggested names for the rooms ( living room, kitchen etc.), you can then create keep out zones ( yay no more extras accessories to block it from no go zones). You can even go as far as name sections (in front of the coffee table for example) . You can even use Siri or Alexa to tell it where to go. It learns every time it goes out and can approximate the time it will take for the task.
Navigation is great and it won’t stop until it finishes the area, even if it has to go back and recharge. You can see a map of where it covered once it’s done. The mopping itself was far more impressive than Imagined. The mop pad has some sort of Brussels that help remove dryer up stains. I would say it covered 95 percent of the floors so little for you to retouch.
I would highly recommend this to anyone that has more hard floors than carpet. If you have just your kitchen and bathroom , skip it. It’s been a huge time saver and I have very little carpet.

Does a good job cleaning floors after the vacuum picks uo the dirt. You can transfer the map from the vacuum. Dislike is it can only transfer the map if the mop/jet does not have a map. Meaning, if you have multiple maps, you have to delete them all in order to transfer the bacuum map. Id rather be able to add maps to its library. Another dislike is it comes with concentrated cleaning solution but they no longer sell the concentrated solution. You have to purchase pre mixed solution. Overall it does do a decent job especially since i have a lot of hardwood floors. It has trouble getting over things like a small rug or a floor divider that sits between hardwood and laminate floor. It just cant get over that hump even if I put a threshold on the map where it is located.

I recently purchased a robot mop and I must say, it has been a great addition to my home. The mop is easy to use and does a great job of cleaning. It is able to navigate around obstacles and can be programmed to clean at certain times. The mop is also very quiet and efficient, so it doesn't disturb anyone while it is in use. Overall, I'm very pleased with my robot mop and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient cleaning solution.
It does not get up tough stains. Its good at sprucing up

I HATE mopping. In fact, over 40 yrs ago, I told my husband that I do NOT mop. Needless, to say it was a "shared" chore. Guess what I received for my 65th birthday...this amazing, quiet, works like a charm little beauty! I have never been more excited over a gift other than my chainsaw! Seriously, this really is a great gadget. Fabulous for an open floor plan in particular. Is it better than a hands n knees scrub? no. Do I ever do a hands n knee scrub? Absolutely not. It takes a minute to "map" out your floor plan. Once done, you can customize your "zones" and set up individual mopping schedules. Mopping time depends on your square footage. My home's main kitchen/living area is roughly 500sq ft and takes about 1.75 hrs to mop which is time I can eat bon-bons. I suggest purchasing washable reusable pads too. If you are a get-out-the-bleach-and-wax--gotta-shine-person, do not buy this. If you are a gotta-live-life-I-hate-mopping-person, THIS will make you cry with joy! Guess what my daughter's are getting for Christmas...because life is too short to mop the dang floors. Awesome item for the price.

All and all the M6 is good for upkeep/maintenance. It does not do a deep clean of floors. I still suggest having a normal routine for your floors.
Think of this as an automated Swiffer. The pad doesn't vibrate or move, rather it pushes cleaning solution around on your floor just as a Swifter does making it good for quick cleaning and floor maintenance inbetween your deep cleans.
The mapping on the M6 is great, though it does take a while and quite a few trips to complete.
The robot itself is very quiet, especially when using the sweeping mode as it doesn't activate the sprayer.
A common problem with the M6 is when it's attempting to dock. The wheels become wet from mopping the floors which sometimes causes them to slip when rolling on to the slick plastic dock. There is a grip spray that can be purchased from any hardware store which will remedy this issue.
All in all this is a good robot for maintaining your floors but do not expect it to deep clean.

We bought the highest-end Braava mop because we already have a Roomba J7+ vacuum, which we love and use regularly. We like the Braava a lot, and think it performs significantly better than hybrid robot vacuum/mops. But if you’re used to a Roomba, you immediately can tell that the Braava’s mapping algorithms and navigational prowess around your home are just not as robust as a Roomba. It’s a long and annoying task waiting for the Braava to finally learn your entire home layout (this is much easier with a Roomba), and you can’t easily share your Roomba’s pre-existing home map with it, either. Once it finally learns your house, things get a lot more convenient, but it still can’t find its way out of a jam (lost, stuck, etc.) as easily as a Roomba can. If the navigation was improved, this would be a five star mop. Still, it’s the best thing out there.

Bought the m6 about two weeks ago to augment our Rumba i7. It took about four runs to establish a map. At first it had a hard time crossing several thresholds. It is interesting that it would enter and exit the kitchen by different portals to solve the problem which says something about the logic. I used the threshold feature which disengages the bump sensors within a geofenced area and this solved the issue. One of our thresholds is rounded and rather high. The m6 solves this issue by approaching at an angle rather than head on. I find this logic impressive. I notice that the m6 is more systematic than the Rumba in going the straight lines across the floor. This makes sense since it is mopping in straight lines. Still it is impressive. As for cleaning, similar to the Roomba for vacuuming, you run the m6 multiple times and eventually it will pick up less dirt per mopping. At that point the m6 maintains the cleaning level with each mission which is what this robot is best at. You can adjust the amount of spray and the length of the mopping stroke but I find that the lowest setting works fine and covers more area before a thank refill. This setting we will get three or four mopping sessions for an area of about 1000sf. If you have an area with dried, stuck-on food or other material the m6 would have to go over it many times to really clean it. For those areas you can just use a damp cloth to clean. While you may argue that this defeats the purpose of the robot, I would argue that it is best for maintaining floors at a good level of cleanliness. Given how often we mopped before (not often) the m6 is awesome. In this regard it is like the Roomba. It runs regularly and gives you a good level of cleanliness. If you have areas that are particularly dirty then either use a vacuum cleaner (Roomab) or a wet cloth or mop. For the initial set of runs we used disposable pads which can be easily changed. I noticed streaking at first (due to dirt it was picking up). After more runs this was much reduced. Now that we are at a nominal dirt level we will switch to the reusable pads (we bought extras). We will see how that works out.
Overall we are very satisfied so far with our m6. It does a great job of maintaining our floors on a regular basis which was our expectation. If this is your expectation you will be happy.

This thing is basically a tiny janitor with Wi-Fi. I set it loose and watched it glide around like it owned the place — and now my floors actually shine. It maps my rooms accurately, cleans in neat rows, and gets under furniture I didn’t even realize was dusty.
Setup was quick, connecting through the iRobot app took less than five minutes, and now I can schedule mopping from my phone like some kind of floor-cleaning wizard. It even returns to charge itself and picks up where it left off — no supervision needed.
Pairing it with my Roomba was the cherry on top. They tag-team like a cleaning power couple. If you hate mopping (and let’s be real, who doesn’t?), this gadget is absolutely worth it.

I bought this for my wife for Christmas while it was on sale over like Black Friday and we both love it. The mapping function is what sets it apart from the rest. The mop will map your house and you can then go into the app and tell it where you want it to mop and where you don't.
It's so simple to use, but it does a very good job as well. I have three elementary school aged children, so they're always dropping food and stuff on the floor. This bad boy makes sure my floors stay crumb free!
I also love that you can start it remotely (via wifi) from wherever you are in the world. That's pretty neat. Not a deal-breaker, but pretty cool.
