Looks like a great deal, clean and mop great, but is hard to understand how it works.

Ehhhh... It cleans really good. I just had to replace mine twice. It keeps having issues backing up the dock once the pads are wet and getting error codes all over the place. But when it works it works great

I've learned that brand reputation only carries you so far, eventually, you need to keep up with the tech. The Roomba Plus 405 Combo represents iRobot's attempt to catch up with competitors who've been eating their lunch for the past few years. While there's definite progress here, particularly with the long overdue addition of LiDAR navigation, this robot vacuum/mop combo still feels like it's playing catch-up rather than leading the pack. Setup was refreshingly straightforward: the AutoWash dock found its corner in my kitchen without dominating the space, and the sleek black design definitely looks more premium than my previous robot vacuum. The new ClearView LiDAR mapped my house quickly, though it took two attempts before it successfully captured every room (lighting seems to make a difference here, more light seems to be better). The revamped Roomba Home app did crash once during initial mapping, and it seems like the app could use a little bit more work still. Coming from someone who troubleshoots enterprise systems daily, having to restart a consumer app or workflow process a couple times just to use a product can get annoying. The hardware tells a more promising story. That 70x suction claim sounds impressive, and on hard floors, it handles daily dust and crumbs adequately. The new single rubber brush design resists hair tangles better than other brush systems I’ve used, a welcome change for anyone with pets. What really caught my attention was the spinning dual mop pads that automatically lift when hitting carpet. Smart feature, right? Well, yes and no. While the pad-lifting works reliably, the mopping itself leaves puddles behind. The AutoWash dock does its job washing and drying the pads, but when the fundamental mopping performance is this flawed, even the best maintenance system can't save it. Daily usage revealed both the potential and limitations of this refresh. Navigation is precise, the LiDAR keeps it moving in efficient patterns rather than the drunken wandering of older models. But here's the thing: it lacks any real obstacle avoidance sensors beyond basic bump detection. My charging cables, cat toys, and that rogue sock under the couch? The 405 plows right into them. For comparison, competitors at this price point use AI cameras to identify and avoid obstacles. The cleaning performance on carpets also disappointed, in my tests, it left behind more pet hair than other robots. If you're deeply invested in the iRobot ecosystem and want their latest tech without jumping to a Max combo, the 405 makes some sense. The AutoWash dock reduces maintenance, and if you primarily have hard floors and minimal obstacles, it'll keep things reasonably clean. You’re paying a premium for the Roomba name while getting mid-tier performance. Is it perfect? Not by a long shot. Is it worth considering? That depends on what matters most to you. The Plus 405 Combo shows iRobot is listening to what users want: LiDAR navigation, self-cleaning capabilities, and a more modern approach to mopping. While it stumbles in execution (looking at you, app stability), these are largely software issues that could improve with updates. For die-hard Roomba fans or those who value the AutoWash convenience above raw cleaning power, this represents real progress. After years of the same old tech, it's refreshing to see them trying something different.

So far so good. Wish that it came with the mop solution

This is definitely a step up compared to my combo vacuum and mop j7 plus, but after seeing what competitors have released over the last 3 years, Roomba is still definitely behind. Unfortunately, this model only has the lidar scanner and no camera which makes the obstacle avoidance for small objects, cords, and toys terrible when compared to my much older j7. The spinning mop brushes are definitely an upgrade, but having to continuously return to the dock to moisten the pads and then having to have the air dryer blowing for 4 to 6 hours to dry the pads. Since this doesn't have heated, air is a major con. I give it three stars and I think it definitely would be worth it if it was half the price. But like most people, I'm probably going to get a roborock or eufy vac.

Works great this machine give me freedom to work on something else while its cleaning

This product is good but not excellent. We were waiting best results for the price. The mop is the problem. It doesn't dry well and leaves a bit of a stain on the mopped floor.

I got it as a Christmas present. But I own 2 myself, one being really old but still working like a new one. I strongly recommend them, makes life easier.

Love it. Works great.just wish there was a way to adjust the home location after moving it with out have to remap it.

Great product but sucks connecting to the app and randomly disconnects itself from wifi so won’t work from your phone unless you reconnect it to your wifi

Worked for a while but never cleaned right. Dust bin on roomba sometime didn't empty when docked. Currently my machine stopped functioning. I purchased 4 months ago.

Decent robot, a LOT louder than the old one I had! Love the auto fill and wash.

Great product, had the roomba J7+ for years and had to upgrade during the sale. Love the functionality, and the ease of use. The mopping isn’t great, but it is good. With 3 dogs, we need all the help we can get!

I have more issues than not, very noise, the dust bin never emptied automatically i had to manually do it, than it just stopped all together. It did not detect things in its path, ran into the dogs while eating. Got stuck on blankets shoes and toys

This Roomba works excellent. I was surprised at how well it works.

I’ve only had it a short time but it’s working great so far. I hope I’m not being hasty on rating it. I’ve had many Roomba Robots and a few good ones but a lot of problems with others.

Love it so far! I want one for my house. I bought for my son’s house
