The cleaning is good but the charge doesn't last for more than 30 minutes or so. This means it can't clean a 2 bed room apartment even. I would have preferred to return it but I was 1 day late before the return window closed.

I went to a Best Buy store in Orlando near the Millenia Mall. I bought several expensive items. I noticed that the salesperson had not included the apartment number. He told me that it would be okay and that he would contact me by phone. I reminded him that I am Brazilian and did not have an international phone number. He said that it would be okay and that he would send me an email and that I would be able to get the apartment number by email. I asked him again to correct it, but he said that he could not. Then my struggle began. At Best Buy they told me that I had to contact FedEx, at FedEx they said that I had to contact Best Buy. I went back to the store and they said that there was nothing they could do and I returned to Brazil without the items. In addition, I could not buy again because my credit card limit was compromised.

I have gone through many generations and brands of robot vacuums over the years. Each time I try one, I am always left unimpressed and wanting more. They either are extremely dumb and try to eat everything on the floor (socks, cables, money...) and would ram into your walls startling you, or just sucked (not in a good way for vacuums) at sucking. So, I honestly was skeptical to try out the Roomba Plus 505, just because of my bad experiences in the past. I just recently bought a new home that has hardwood + tile everywhere, no carpet! Just some area rugs. I really needed help with mopping and saw this and thought, ok why not? Setup was very easy to do, just unbox, fill the water tank put it in, attach the mops and sweeper and you are done! The home base is really nice, it looks sleek, seems well built, and has a little ramp for your minion. I thought the auto map worked pretty well. Obviously you want to do your best job at removing anything that might get in its way. Another cool thing is that it auto detects what the furniture is. So after a few runs, it will know "oh thats a dining table, oh that is a bed, oh that is a couch" and put it on your map, and know how to navigate it better. The spot clean feature is nifty to use in a pinch. But let's get down to what matters the most, how well does it clean? Well, let me tell you, I am actually very impressed with how well this thing can clean. My floors were quite dirty and hadn't been mopped in almost a month so I put this thing up to the test. Wow I could not believe how much dirt it picked up in the dirty water resovoir! I then had it do a deep clean pass after spraying some floor cleaner, and my floors came out better than when I moved in. And to top it off, I didn't have to lift a finger or break my back mopping! And then the cherry on top is that it cleans it's own pads, notifies you when to replace them, empties its own dustbin and dirty water and fills up with new water. It's honestly everything you could want! The only "complaint" is I guess it's slow, it could take a couple hours to clean the whole house and needs to refill quite a bit, but I mean what do you expect? On top of superior cleaning, this robot is quite smart. Like really smart. It never has gotten any of my rugs wet in mopping mode! It knows when a rug or carpet is coming up, and auto retracts the mop pads so it does not get wet. And then it starts to vacuum and it does a great job at that too! And once it is done, it sets back down the mop pads to continue hard wood + surface cleaning. 5/5, great job iRobot!!

Having a big issue with there software on the app and with the robot not working right. Talked with iRobot customer support after some trial and error they sent me a new unit just for it to have the same issue. If it worked the way it is suppose to it would be 5 stars easy.

Your gunna spend more time maintaining this thing and getting it unstuck then it will clean. Waste of time and money. 0 stars. And this company just filed for bankruptcy so updates and support will only get worse.

I was really excited to see how this new Roomba with Lidar performed when staked up against the competition. The auto empty, self washing mop, and new lidar system seemed like a huge recipe for success. While it does do pretty well, I found some pretty big downsides to this product that make it a hard sell at $999. First with what I did like. The mop does an excellent job mapping the house and avoiding obstacles. The only real problem it had was with my sled bottom chairs, which all robo vacs have trouble with. This is the first vac I've had that is able to mop and also vacuum carpet. The pads lift up inside the robot to go over carpet which is very cool. Suction is great and it picks up tons of pet fur while vacuuming. It's also very compact for a mop and auto empty robot. It fits perfectly in the corner of my kitchen. The auto extend mopping arm gets so close to the wall, unlike any robo mop I've ever see. Now what I don't like. The battery life is not great, which causes a long cleaning time. To clean my entire bottom story it takes about 5-6 hours. I start the vacuum around 2am and it won't finish until I get up in the morning. The vacuum also makes very loud noises on my hardwood. It sounds broken at times. I also have two dogs and within a week have had to clean the brush twice because it gets so tangled it won't spin. Not only this, but I can't seem to find a way to get the vacuum to auto empty during a routine. So by the time the entire clean finishes, the dust bin is so full that many times it won't even empty and I have to manually empty the bin. Overall, there are a few things to like but the downsides here make it hard to recommend

I've tried multiple Roombas and have found a lot of issues with them, mostly in regards to connecting to your wi-fi, and staying connected. So with a bit of trepidation I went ahead and requested this unit, in hopes of finally finding the product that can both vacuum and mop without issue. So far I have tried a couple of other non-Roombas, to very little good, and so I was hopeful that now with the market given time and attention to the tech this one would be a winner. Setting it up was very easy, it's on the box what to do. Got the app and got registered there without any issue. Was able to get my until setup after about 20 minutes of messing with the app and we were off and training. The unit is quality, you can tell it's a Roomba by design and the pads are easy to take off and put back on for cleaning purposes. First things first, the Roomba needs to make a map of your area to treat, or not treat, as the case may be. This was something I did with about 65% power, and I regret it. Make sure you're at 100% charge before doing the mapping, and you will save yourself a lot of headache. The next two cleanings worked but I had to rescue the Roomba at the end when it got lost and couldn't find it's way back to the dock. I've had this happen when the charge gets lower, so be aware. Sitting the roomba back into it's dock solves the issue, but you will have to put up with the ROOMBA NEEDS ATTENTION a bit more than you'd like. After two cleanings now, our downstairs looks CLEAN very clean! My wife was very happy with it as well. I'd have to recommend this, despite the poor unit getting lost a time or two near the end of the cycle, I find that the overall ease of use, and very good cleaning results, makes this the new king of the hill when it comes to Robot vac/cleaners. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

First one didn’t work had to take back the next day. Second one worked for 3 months now is in constantly in recalibration mode. Will never buy again.

I would never buy a rumba again. It swept the home and left dirt on the floor . And it never mopped the floors . It would not leave station to mop it just spilled water every where around the station.

Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to try several robot vacuums, and the new iRobot Roomba Plus 505 Combo Robot Vacuum and Mop + AutoWash Dock is now my favorite option for keeping our floors clean. This unit offers so many cleaning options, and it includes a dual mop feature! As a dog owner, this is a must have for keeping our hardwood and carpets free of hair and dirt on a regular basis. What’s in the box: - Roomba Plus 505 Combo robot - AutoWash Docking Station - 1 x Extra AutoEmpty Bag - 1 x Extra Set of Dual Spinning Mop Pads - 1 x Line Cord Setup: There are extensive step-by-step instructions included that are easy to follow (pictures) that made the initial setup a breeze. iRobot Roomba has done an amazing job of simplifying the setup process for the non-technical user. Literally there are only a couple of pieces that need to be put together before initial use. Step 6 in the instructions is a QR code to download the new Roomba Home app. Once connected to wifi and the vacuum, room mapping is the next step in the process. The areas being mapped should be accessible to the Plus 505 for a successful mapping process. This system uses ClearView™ Pro LiDAR and Precision Vision AI technology to map out the rooms requiring cleaning. Once the area is mapped, rooms can be identified, and zones can be setup and customized as desired. There are numerous settings available based on user preferences and desired cleaning mode(s), including 4 cleaning modes: vac-only, mop-only, vac + mop, vac then mop. Cleaning: Vacuuming - The iRobot Roomba Plus 505 uses a single rubber brush and an edge-sweeping brush along with a high suction vacuum. It has handled every bit of pet hair and dirt that’s been thrown at it! For being such a powerful vacuum, the unit runs very quietly making it virtually unnoticeable as it goes about its work. It will auto-sense heavier dirt and increase power and continue vacuuming in that area as needed to completely pick up the debris. I found the combination of the rubber brush and the edge-sweeping brush do wonders for picking up pet hair even in some tighter, tough-to-reach spots. Mopping - The mopping performance on this robot far exceeded my expectations. As mentioned, we have a dog that keeps us on our toes in terms of cleaning the hardwood and tile flooring and it’s now a snap to keep floors clean. Unlike previous robot vacuums, the Roomba Plus 505 Combo does not avoid carpeting when mopping, instead it can do both by retracting the mopping pads out of the way. The dual rotating pads also extend out to (individually) reach those hard-to-get spots along the wall or under counters. This model also offers heated air to assist with drying the mop pads when in the dock. AutoWash Dock – The docking station is also a filled with technology that should not be overlooked. It charges the unit, cleans out the gray water and replenished the clean water, dries the mopping pads and empties the vacuum bag. It’s a powerful dock but almost half the size of the dock from a previous model robot. We placed it in the corner of our kitchen area that leads into the dining and living rooms and iRobot’s modern design allows this unit to match our décor. iRobot Roomba Home App: The app is really the control center behind the robot and is packed with setting for customizing the vacuum, mapping your home and setting desired cleaning modes. It’s also user-friendly even for the non-technical users out there. There are so many features I’m still working my way through them all. Pros: - Easy to set up, operate and clean - Substantial build quality and design of vacuum and dock - iRobot Home app is user friendly and packed with features - Cleaning capabilities of the mopping function are outstanding, including extended reach to pick up along walls and under counters - Very quiet yet powerful vacuuming/mopping and virtually self-sufficient - Auto clean features on the docking station make clean up a breeze - Extra cleaning pieces included with initial purchase Cons: - Due to our dog’s hair, etc. the robot tends to need to recharge more often than expected, probably not an issue for pet-free homes though. Overall: The iRobot Roomba Plus 505 Robot Vacuum and Mop is a top-quality product packed with valuable and user-friendly features. It’s probably the smartest “smart” device we own but is a breeze to setup and operate. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a robot vacuum with mopping capabilities.

It just worked for a couple nights and I stopped working after that

This is Robot Vac number 7 that I've owned over the years, from multiple brands, although this is the third Roomba. I keep coming back to Roomba because they simply just work! I'm swapping out another brand for this Roomba, and that one has similar features and functions. But it was a constant chore trying to get it to work properly to the point that it was easier to just run the vacuum by hand. As a Golden Retriever household, I want something that can just go out once or twice a day and spend 30min picking up "Golden Glitter" while I'm doing other stuff. The mopping feature on this is a bonus because it adds another level of cleaning. Setup out of the box was easy and straightforward. There is a QR code to scan to get the app you need. Once the base station is plugged in and the robot is set on the dock, it'll run you through a quick setup process and then download the firmware updates. After that, wait for it to be charged up and then send it on a mapping run. Once the house is mapped, you can edit the map in the Roomba app by changing room names, dividing lines, create "no go" zones or "no mop" zones, etc. Super easy, although I will caution that adding a "no mop" zone is essentially creating a "no go" zone if you're not doing the Vac only setting. The Roomba will automatically sense carpet and not mop it. That's honestly it. You go in the app, or ask Alexa/Siri/Google to send it out, and it vacs and mops the area. You can have it do the whole level, or ask it to just go to the Kitchen or Living Room, etc. The mop pads fan out a bit to get closer to the edges of the wall, and retract when approaching carpet. Filling the clean water and emptying the dirty water tank is easy. I do recommend emptying the dirty water tank at least daily and rinse it out in the sink so mildew doesn't build up in the tank, requiring a deeper clean. I love that this unit vacuums, mops and self empties both the water tank and the dust bin. Inside the dock, the mop pads will get rinsed off, and when it's done, they will have warm air blown over them for several hours to dry the pads. This is truly an all in one solution and a must have for anyone, especially those with dogs or small children. This might be the first robot vac that I haven't had to "rescue" because it couldn't find its way out from under a chair or got caught on a rug. It does a great job leaving the hardwoods and rugs clean and it is much quieter than other models I've had in the past. Overall, highly recommend this robot combo and couldn't be happier with it!

I have had my fair share of robotic vacuums and mops. Dating back to the first models of the Roomba all the way up to the the Deebot series. The Roomba 505 is the best yet. For my test I have run it consistently in my kitchen for the last few days. Out of the box, I was ready to go within 10 minutes, and once I downloaded the app, I hooked up, and set up my first map within a half hour. The entire process was seamless, and I'm so thankful that you don't have to use a 2.4 GHz band to set up. Lights on or lights off, it had no problem navigating. It follows the maps well, and if it can reach it, there is no place left unturned. Scraps of food to Play-Doh pieces to slight spills and splashes, this vacuum has been able to handle it all thus far with ample satisfaction. The last combo I had was a Deebot series. What was shocking about it was how huge the base was. It was like a small shelf. The Roomba 505 is a great size and fits against the wall without taking up too much space. My wife is a big fan of that as we want to maximize the amount of space that we have in our kitchen where it lives. I have had no hiccups in terms of looping, or anything getting stuck. It has been a great experience of mopping cleaning itself and emptying itself without a hitch. While the app is not aesthetically amazing, it has everything you need to set up your routines and get into a groove and let the Roomba do its thing. I don't have any long-term experience on this model, but in the short term, it has been the best combo I have owned as of yet. I definitely would recommend it. Another huge bonus is that it can clear the lip between my kitchen and hallway. Between these two rooms, there's a slight ramp that's been a hassle to just about every robotic vacuum i've had. This one cleared it with ease. So I am truly confident it can do all around my home without needing to stop.
