    My wife and I have been amazed how great this little guy is ( kids love watching it). We have hard wood floors throughout our house and a throw rug. It literally has helped keep the house looking great. And having a 4 and 5 year old that is an amazing feat. It helps out so atleast 2-3 times a week it thoroughly cleans our floors. It’s amazing to see how much dust and dirt it collects. Here’s the thing it’s very expensive. And it’s not going to replace a good strong vacuum nor a good hardwood floor cleaner. We thought we were going to give it a try and return it because of the cost. But the performance sold us. It picks up a lot of dirt and dust. We have not had it get stuck. A few times we watched it but it worked it out on its own. Sometimes if it’s doing the whole house it may need to recharge which it takes care of itself and sometimes the filter and debris colllecter needs to be emptied but it will let you know. It did a good job on our rug as well. I can not tell a person who has all or a lot of carpeting throughout the house that this is a great purchase. But for the hardwood floors it worked great

    Best price we could find on the market for the 960. First day of use we had no trouble programing up to the WiFi. The little machine started cleaning and learning the house. It got stuck once from going under the recliner chair from having the foot rest up. It got over throw rugs and medium carpet. Tried to eat a phone wire but we rescued it. We notice it cleaned the same spot a few times but from what we see its still learning. It got better the second day. It knows how to find its charging port and when its battery is low. We love watching it clean. It picks up lots of hair , lint, and dirt no problem. My Two little dogs were a laugh to watch them bark at it. Now they avoid or ignore it. It reminds me of the very old Warner Brothers cartoon of the two dogs living in a modern home version of the 1950's with a mechanical robot broom coming out of the closet with a dust pan and sweeping up what ever falls to the floor. Great machine. Spend the extra money for the 960, its well worth it.

    We have been using this vacuum for well over a month. I did not want to write a review until I felt that I knew how it performs. The app is great because you can start the vacuum every day or every other day or once a week depending on what you want to do. The app shows you what areas the vacuum cleans etc. We use it every day and it always picks up dust, cat hair, litter etc. Vacuuming use to be my task and now I have not had to use a regular vacuum since we got it. I will need to get the regular vacuum out sometime to vacuum the chairs and couch from cat hair. Otherwise, I would not need the regular vacuum. The vacuum will run about an hour and a half and returns to the docking station to recharge and then finishes the job. I would highly recommend this product!! Occasionally, the vacuum will get caught under a piece of furniture, but not very often. This is the cleanest that under the bed, dressers, and tables have ever been.

    I am happy with this machine. I do wish I would have gotten the next step up because I have housemates and it's difficult to get everyone to empty the bin. So having a location where each run is connected actually makes sense and is worth the extra money. There were some issues with it getting entangled in cords. So I took the time to organize all the cords in the house and that made a huge difference. I would also like to mention that on a fairly regular basis it gets stuck in the bathroom due to some particular issues with the way the door closes in that room. I will probably use the electric fence to avoid the bathroom. On the other hand, I would recommend this for the mapping that seems to be built in. It was much better cleaning patterns and I am glad that I returned the earlier version after trying it once or twice. I would recommend this for those who are willing to change the bin after each use.

    I was hesitant about getting a robotic vacuum as consumer magazines and other reports commented that they were not as efficient at vacuuming as a regular vacuum. So, why waste your money? Still my wife wanted one and everyone we knew that had one loved it. Well, we love our little vacuum robot "Robbie" and were amazed at how much material he picked up right after we had cleaned the house. Every time we use him he finds more dirt and he leaves the carpet looking freshly vacuumed. What amazed me is how smart he is in plotting out obstacles and reaching all over the house through doorways, under tables, under beds, and around corners. Robbie is now one of the family. Obviously we are happy with our purchase and if you have funds for such a buy, we believe you will be really pleased as well.

    I have used the iRobot Braava mop for wood floors for 2 years and loved that and had been reading up on reviews for the Roomba, finally got this model when it was 250 off. It really works! The app set up took few tries, the voice controls work very well with Google assist/ Android. It cleans the entire level (Approx 1000sqft) in one charge and picks up stuff/debris. I did the first run after using my regular vacuum and was amazed at how much it had picked up! It transitions between carpet and wood ( with a small dip) easily. It doesnot get on my small rug (I think the color pattern get it confused, because even if I place it on that rug, it does short back n forth motions and then rolls off) So far hasn't gotten stuck anywhere (I do have a clutter free floor) The noise level is very reasonable too, you can watch TV with it running. Im glad I got the higher end model for a deal. I would recommend it certainly!

    Summary: The Roomba 960 is not as advanced as the marketing suggests. The hardware is upgraded, but the core navigation firmware still feels old. Pros: - The app is convenient. - The waste bin is easy to empty. - The rollers are surprisingly good at picking up debris like cat litter. Cons: - The "visual guidance system" is not very smart. It is constantly ramming into my furniture. - The device has trouble finding its way to the charging station in a 2 bedroom apartment. - It does not provide a way to manually remote control the unit like previous generations. - It gets stuck under and on top of furniture a lot. It is really good at climbing onto things, but it can get stuck on a 1" table or chair stand.

    As a first time owner of a Roomba, I was a bit skeptical of its capabilities. No longer! Since we started using it, it has done a tremendous job of cleaning up our new home of dirt and dust from construction, plus keeping up with the dust blown in from a nearby white rock road. Also, we have a dog who sheds like crazy in the warmer months, but the Roomba has managed to overcome that, too, and make our floors a delight to walk on with bare feet! The (very useful) app lets you know if the Roomba has a problem, like getting stuck or having a full dust bin, but the Roomba also tells you about these kinds of problems itself. It works on our LVP floor and several rugs we have down, with no problem. It just does its thing and only requires minimal attention. Highly recommended.

    We have a yellow lab who sheds like a fiend! He is the sweetest boy, but the hair drove us all crazy!! No more!! Roomba sweeps up all the messes on the hardwood floor, and leaves a trail showing his work on the (low pile) carpet. I put off purchasing because they are so expensive, but wait for the coupon that comes out a few times a year for certain models (and best buy will match competitors pricing, I think) I have a friend who has 2 older irobot models and she recommended hers highly, so other models would be worth checking out too - I spent a long time researching which one to get, and honestly, don't know that it matters a whole lot - think they are all pretty well rated. Oh, and as far as the app for the 9hundred models, it seems that you have to be on the same wifi for it to work... so that's kind of a bust - it isn't like you can set it to go while you are out and about, but it does alert me if it gets stuck somewhere in the house (as long as I'm home on the wifi. It can display a map of its work, keeping a history of where it has cleaned. So far, it is easy to clean the different components. There are tutorials on the app.

    Very happy with our purchase. I come home to a clean upstairs floor despite having 3 cats and a Pomeranian which is a stress reliever. Roomba takes approx 3 hrs to clean 1000sf and does so in a somewhat random pattern but gets full coverage. I haven’t needed to dump the bin or clean the wheels during a job since the first week of ‘catch-up’ cleaning. Roomba is noisy so I like to run jobs just before I get home or while we’re doing other chores, it’s too loud to run while watching TV or having a conversation. The front sensor does very well as we watch Roomba slow down before reaching a barrier (wall, chair etc). We have noticed a bit of wear on our woodwork but are unsure if it’s due to Roomba or our previous manual cleaning with the larger vacuum. Love the control from iphone feature that allows me to start a job from anywhere and the coverage map to know where Roomba has been. Overall we love having Roomba and are considering buying the 980 for our thicker basement carpet.

    Loud, delicate sweeper

    After less than a year of VERY LIGHT use (average of twice per month), the plastic clip holding the filter in place broke. There's no way to replace the flimsy filter door without buying a whole new canister. Further, the extractors, filters, and sweeper brush all need frequent replacing making maintenance costs on this vacuum similar to that of a car (especially if you follow the manufacturer's recommendations). Likewise, the vacuum has continued to get louder with age. It occasionally squeals and otherwise makes more noise than it originally did. The vacuum also can't get everything, you'll still need spot clean even if you were to run it every day. With maintenance costs and the fact that basic components (like the filter door) break with no easy replacement, it'd probably be cheaper to just pay a maid service... And they'd clean far better than this thing can.

    I have a one story house (1,300 sqft) house that was getting dirty in between full vacuuming, and with construction in the neighborhood, I didn't want to pull out the full size one. The Roomba 960 was the answer. Worth spending more for the camera version which helps it navigate around with fewer bumps and knocks, and as far as I can tell from the CNET review, a better value than the more expensive 980. It does a great job on my mix of hardwood and area rugs. It doesn't get hung up on the tassels at the ends of each rug, and even if it runs out of power during a run, it has found its way back to the recharger station every single time. The bad? It can get stuck on floor vents for my AC as well as under some headboards, I've bought two extra virtual boundaries (it comes with one) and set it to avoid areas where it gets stuck. That fixed it, and now my house is clean. Using my iPhone to start and schedule cleanings is great, but being able to link it to my Echo Dot and telling Alexa, "Roomba, clean my house" and off it goes is the cherry on top. One of the best pieces of tech I've ever purchased.

    We have two dogs and this is a great item to have in our house. It runs when we are not home and minimizes the amount of hair and dander that collects by the end of the week. It has issues and has been getting caught up in our smaller rugs, so we are looking at how we can fix that without having to pick them up each day. Other than that, it works well and the empty feature is tricky at first, but when you figure it out, its a cinch. We found that we paid over $100 MORE FOR IT at the TC store. So, when I tried calling to get the PRICE MATCH guarantee, I did not expect the fight I had to go through to get the match. I think they expected me to give up after lying to me stating that I was looking at a USED item, even after I sent the links that clearly show, NEW PRICE. It was painful, but they eventually honored the price. I do not suggest calling the 888 number for help, I finally got help by using the CHAT online service.

    Not as good as I had hoped

    I really wanted to like this, but it was not to be. Had some problems connecting it to our wifi, after several attempts, it finally connected. Has been rock solid on that front since. My issues are that it leaves clumps or strings of pet hair all over the carpet, which I have to bend over and pick up every morning. I clean the bin, clean the rollers after each run but it still leaves behind the clumps of pet hair. We have 2 dogs, who shed moderately and chose this model because it was recommended for pet owners. Recently, it started stopping during the cleaning instead of returning to its base. This is not a big deal, except now every morning it is sitting in the middle of the room and my wife already stubbed her toe on it when she didn't see it early in the morning. That was pleasant to wake up to an angry wife cursing out the robot thingy. I will probably return it.

    Works OK, but gets stuck every time

    The Roomba 960 does a great job on hardwood floors. The app is pretty decent and the mapping tool is cool. However, we have used it 8 times now while at work, and it has gotten stuck all 8 times. By the time we get home, the battery is dead and we have to reschedule for the next day. It gets stuck against furniture, yanks power cords out and then gets stuck on them, has climbed on top of a pair of shoes and gotten stuck, and climbed on top of some electronic equipment and scratched it all up. It navigates carpet/rugs of any height quite well, however all it does is suck up carpet/rug fibers and fill up the dirt container, so that even if it wasn't getting stuck it would be full and not able to finish the job. It also starts depositing large chunks of carpet/rug fibers around the house making things worse. We haven't had one complete job yet, which is getting frustrating for a $700 vacuum. I guess it would be OK if we were home to quickly get it unstuck, but I got this so I didn't have to be home and/or participate in the cleaning. Will be giving it a few more chances before I return.

    We've had this Roomba for three weeks now. It has the house mapped out and runs just like it's supposed to when it's supposed to. The only issue we've found this far is it gets full so darn quickly. Is that a Roomba problem or a "we have a dirty house" problem?? :D When the unit gets full, it goes back to it's docking station and beeps letting you know it needs to be cleaned. That's a great feature to have except when you are trying to SLEEP! LOL. In other words, be prepared to clean out the dust bin every single day. Sure, that can get annoying but it sure as heck beats having to vacuum your floors every single day! Worth it? Dang straight! Yes...we still have to run the vacuum from time to time but that is NOT absolutely necessary. We just have numerous animals that like to shed everywhere and kids who don't know how to pick up all their junk.... Oh, and it also likes to get stuck under my recliner (all the time) and will pick up charger cables as well...so just pick them up off the floor and you'l be fine. :)

    Every Mom or Mom to be NEEDS This!

    I'm the proud owner of 2 giant white Great Pyrenees dogs and 2 cats. With that, comes the never ending cycle of vacuuming their hair up off my hardwood and tile floors, as well as rugs. As a wedding present, I was given both a heavy duty Dyson vacuum and a hand held Dyson vacuum for smaller pick up jobs. Thanks to my 4 fur babies, I was vacuuming at least once a day, if not morning AND night. The tumbleweeds of white fur and cat dander were everywhere, as well as the dirt and grass they tracked in from outside playtime. Fast forward to now, and I'm 7 months pregnant. I can't be vacuuming everyday... it's exhausting. This Roomba is a GOD SEND! My floors look like I don't have dogs or cats! I set it to clean 2x a day on the mobile app and VOILA! (I can even instruct Alexa to tell it to clean for me) I come home from work to clean floors and I go to bed while it vacuums for me. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TREAT YOSELF! I did some research prior to purchase, and it's the best one of the series. Seriously, do it.

    I've had several older Roomba's over the years. These new ones have a camera to detect objects and have came a long way with tracking it's progress and cleaning. The app setup was a bit tricky at first but afterwards works flawlessly. There are somethings I wish the bot would do. When it's bin gets full it will stop and stay in its position waiting for you to empty it. If your not home for the day you may come home to a dead battery in your roomba and it can't complete the cleaning until it recharges. I think it should return home for any necessary maintenance so that it may charge while waiting for your assistance. Otherwise this gadget works great. I'm amazed at how much dust or debris it can find on a daily basis. I usually let it run around the entire downstairs which is only about 1100 sf. Roomba usually cleans this area without having to recharge and continue. I've already purchased a second one for upstairs!

    This is my first robot vacuum and I was hesitant to purchase at first because of the price. After about a month with the vacuum I am happy with my purchase and would definitely buy again. It took a little getting used to but now my family knows to pick up before leaving for the day and let the Roomba do its thing without getting stuck. If you live in a home with someone with long hair (3 girls in my house) you need to pay attention to the rollers and side brush, they pick up a LOT of hair which degrades performance. Now that I know to look for this I check each week and remove the hair. The virtual wall is awesome and really helps if you have a use for it. I used it for the room I had my Christmas tree in and it works as it should. It doesn't pick up everything, which was the reason I gave it 4 stars, but it does pick up enough that a quick walk around the house with a cordless vac will take care of anything that was missed. Overall this is a great product and the app / Alexa functions work better than I thought they would.

    This is my second roomba and it’s amazing. I love the mapping and when it completes a cleaning job, it gives you a map of all the areas it cleaned, square footage cleaned, and WiFi map with areas in the house with poor WiFi signal. The first few times I used it, the robot picked up a ton of dirt, food, etc but since I’ve been using it regularly, my house is much cleaner. If the bin fills up during a cleaning, it sends me a text and pauses the job. This thing is a great time saver. My wife makes fun of me because I like to just sit in the room it’s cleaning and watch it scoot around. I even put test pieces of food on the floor to see if it gets it...it always does. I also like the extractors under the robot that pull up the dirt, hair, etc. very easy to clean the rollers/extractors after a cleaning job. This robot isn’t cheap, but so worth it.
