This is very much as advertised. User friendly and saves much work. We recently put ceramic tile in our entire downstairs of our house, so we went with this model to do an entire floor level. It's true you need to empty the bin to do an entire level, but I think the more often we schedule the Roomba to clean, the less that will be required. Small issue with the small rotary sweeper binding up, and will occasionally require attention to free it. Only requires unscrewing it, clearing any hair causing binding where it can't spin, then replacing. Not really much of an issue, but the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

Takes a while for Roomba to learn floor plan, but it cleans very well, even under the bed.

It works great on carpet and wood floors and the transistion including small uneven areas.

It goes bad if you release it into a space greater than the designated 2000 sq ft. It does a good job of cleaning, is a bit noisy but fun to watch.

Roomba cleans our hardwood floors very well and it has no trouble transitioning into the carpet (where it increases its suction power) or going over small elevated areas. It fits under our furniture and that is what made us return the Dyson robot and get this one. It does not get stuck often and it cleans our entire three bedroom home in one charge (about 2 hours of work).

It does a great job on all surfaces. I wish I had it before now.

i am very glad that I got this Roomba. Does an awesome job of picking up dirt and debris from the floor. Doesn't miss a single spot in the house. The only downside is having to empty the dust collector after 2 or 3 runs in a 1000 sq. ft. I highly recommend getting this Roomba.

I absolutely love my Irobot Roomba 980! I have had 2 cervical spine surgeries and have been told countless times by both my spine doctor and chiropractor that I need to quit vacuuming ... easier said than done, because no one else is going to do it for me! So, when I was asked what I wanted for my birthday this year, I went for the splurge and came up with the idea of the Irobot Roomba and I have to say it's the best gift I've ever picked out for myself! Hazel does a wonderful job of keeping my floors spotless. We have a small "non-shedding" house dog and I am very particular about my floors always being clean . She does the job that I can no longer do and I couldn't be happier. She has gotten hung up a couple of times under the kitchen cabinet, but other than that I have no complaints whatsoever. I am in the process of picking out an Irobot Braava right now ... after all, if vacuuming isn't good for my spine, mopping can't be either! :)

It does a really great job! It cleans very well! You just got to keep emptying the dirt collector.

I love my Roomba! It does a very good job vacuuming, and at the end of the day it only takes me a minute to empty out the bin. My carpets look great since they are getting vacuumed daily!

I hate to vacuum. I was convinced the iRobot would do a poor job, but it is awesome!

Never thought it could do such a good job. I did purchase a hand held high pressure blower to aid in cleaning the filter and bin. Helps a lot. Found that dividing our house into sections using the “no go” sensors or closing room doors to isolate a job to do different sections daily is the best way to go. Also, removing table chairs and other floor items results in greater effiency and more logical cleaning patterns. Does as well as our expensive upright or canister does. Weird to see it ignore an area then suddenly turn around on the other side of the room and go back and clean the missed area. Gets there eventually. It takes about a month to develop its own logical pattern. It does learn.

This vacuum worked very well overall and picked up a ridiculous amount of dirt, hair, and dust build up every single time I ran it. I was shocked every time I emptied the bin to see how much still came out even when it looked so clean after every run! The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 star is because it stops and constantly says trash bin compartment full, even after I just emptied it. Sometimes it takes multiple pauses, empty, wipes sensors, restart until it is finally satisfied and runs without the error light coming on again.

We have a new puppy and 4 kids so this is a huge timesaver and it does a great job.

Works great on hardwood, carpet and tile. Im waiting to see what Irobot will come up with next.

Best purchase I've ever made. I have 2 children under the age of 6 and 2 dogs that shed. This vacuum is the best investment for busy moms!

I could set up when I need the Roomba start cleaning up my house using my cellphone

I’m completely amazed by my IRobot. I have 2 dogs, one who sheds. I set RahRah(my name for it)on the app and come home to spotless floors and perfectly vacuumed carpets showing a perfect pattern that every corner was covered! I am frankly amazed.

Very happy with the unit. Especially like the app so I can start cleaning process when not home.
