The Roomba 980 is an excellent choice for both hardwood floors and carpets, easy to use, reliable and does a better job than I expected

This item works better than expected. We have it run each weekday to keep up with the hair from three cats and two dogs; we have to empty the container daily. It's able to do our normal carpet and hardwood floors well but has trouble transitioning onto one of her area rugs that has a high lip on it but I won't take any points away for that. It does a great job with coverage. Would recommend to friends and family.

Not only did I purchase one for myself, 2 weeks later I purchased on for my mom...WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG...AWESOME IS ALL I CAN SAY. I should be a spokesperson for this item, I have had several friends purchase from my recommendation!

When you have several pets in the house, daily vacuuming is a necessity. This Roomba has been the single best product I've purchased that has saved me from countless hours of repetitive chores. I just set it up on schedule and empty the bin when I get home to let the dogs out so it's ready for the next day. It only takes a few minutes a week to clean the Roomba for optimum performance. It goes from one room to the next and doesn't miss a spot. This is the Roomba you want, especially when it goes on sale.

Although it does a great job at detecting walls, it seems to have trouble recognizing objects (couch and coffee tables) that sit about 3-4 inches from floor. It bumps them at full speed when approached. Other than that, this vacuum does a great job. Love being able to control it with phone!

I bought this for my wife to help keep the floor clean with two harry dogs in the house, one being a 89lb German Shepard that leaves a trail of hair every where he walks. You do have to make sure there is nothing on the floor to get tangled up in it, shoe laces, curtains etc. It does and extremely good job on all our hard surfaces. The Roomba does good on thick pile carpet but you will need to still facuum with a good vacuum every so often to keep all the dog hair up. I would do it again.

My wife and I both work and were tired of having to vacuum our house for 2 hours every weekend because of our dogs shedding. We have 2 dogs, both about 100 lbs and growing, which are shedding their fur for summer. Before we got the iRomba, the hair would get so bad it would literally be a two hour process every weekend to vacuum up all the fur. Now we run the Roomba 5-6 times a week and have not had to vacuum since! It does a great job and is easy to clean and has given us no issues!

I have had the 980 Roomba for about 2 months. It works very well. Cleans thoroughly, returns to base to charge, and then finishes. So far easy to maintain. At about 4 weeks the latch on the filter door cracked which is apparently a weak spot. iRobot sent me a replacement promptly, same door, so I expect it to crack shortly also. I hope they upgrade the latch and solve the problem. I can not log on my account due to a software glitch on iRobot's part- almost 2 months to fix a software glitch- Really??? Other than that it's great.

Love love our roomba980! Our carpets look and feel great! Goes from floor to carpet with ease! We’re in love!

I’ve been fairly satisfied with my first one purchased last summer 1 thing that bothers me is it stops randomly in the middle of an area I don’t know if it can’t find it’s docking station or what. Also doesn’t always return to the area it leaves to recharge and missed some spots

I was surprised how full the dust collector box was when I first tried it out. Once I found the correct location for the base station the Roomba was able to hit every room in the house. (2100 SQ ft.) Prior to leaving the house, I pit pieces of tissue on the floor in every room and even some under furniture and beds. When I returned the Roomba was in the docking station and all of the tissue had been vacuumed up. Be sure to hand dust the places it can't get around or under.

Bought this for my wife cause she is a clean freak and likes to vacuum all the time and it annoys me so she can have it vacuum house the house b4 she gets home from work! Happy wife, Happy life!!!

We have a large wood floor and pets so we were having to clean the floor 2-3 times a week. The Roomba has cut all that work out for us. It works well and I was surprised how well it goes around things and gets corners. It does everything it was advertised to do. The virtual wall barriers work great as well. It has been easy to use and so far we are impressed!

The review summary says it all. I was a skeptic about the iRobot Roomba, however not anymore! I had the opportunity to watch a couple of them work, and ask the owners questions about them; then I did some research on my own and made my decision. We stopped at our local BestBuy on Thanksgiving evening, something I NEVER do, and picked up a Roomba 980. We have pets and It does a fantastic job IMO...we're happy with our decision. Expensive?...Yes, however we think it was worth it!

Roomba is a big help do our household chores. Easy to clean inside and glide easily on different surfaces. 2 thumbs up!

I was a little worried about buying a $900 robot to clean my floors but after having it for a while, I absolutely love it! This roomba is awesome and can keep the floors looking great. I just turn it on before I leave for work and come home to a cleaner home! You can even use it with that carpet cleaning stuff you sprinkle on before you vacuum and it will pick it up, so then you come home to a clean and fresh smelling home. If you can afford it, you should absolutely buy it!

Pleasantly surprised with how much this unit cleans. Easy to clean out. Remember to buy a few additional filters.

This vacuum is absolutely wonderful! It does an excellent job cleaning all types of floors in our home-tile, carpet, wood, and vinyl. It’s a great backsaver for those of us who have back issues and a super incentive for those who procrastinate. While my robot vacuums, I get the dusting and mopping done. My house has never been more consistently clean!

I LOVE my iRoomba 980. We'd had another brand prior that bit the dust (ha ha) within 2 yrs of purchase. We concluded a good quality robot vacuum was worth the investment. Boy oh boy were we RIGHT ! iRoomba (we named it Ay Carumba) does an awesome job with my linoleum, hard wood and throw rugs. We have a dog and 2 cats. NO problem for Ay Carumba !! So worth the effort. I don't have to touch a vacuum only but every couple months.
