This robot saves me so much time and does an good job too! Love, love, love it! It works very well with the dog hair on our floors (we have 2 beagles). Excellent!

Well worth the money. Don't let the price dissuade you. I've had a 4yr old model and this one kills it. Buy one. You do have to empty it daily or it won't run.

The 980 is a bit on the expensive side but it really impressed me. It was easy to setup and easy to use. After vacuuming with a Dyson then using the 980 on my carpet, the 980 actually out did the Dyson. The 980 did not miss any spots and very methodical in cleaning especially when it detects a real dirty spot. The dust bin is adequate and easy to use. It’s plastic, so depressing the latches when opening and closing the bin should prevent damaging the latches. It also makes it easier to replace the bin back in the Roomba. Gonna get another one for the upstairs when I can.

It's amazing to even have a robot doing your vacuuming, but to do a good job is even better. And it does do an excellent job. I was seriously surprised at how much it picked up, as I thought the carpets looked reasonably clean from my manual attempt. Turns out I missed a spot. Or hundreds of spots. Or an entire layer. There are two things of note, neither of which would affect my buy again decision or recommendation. This may be more particular to my house or my stuff, but it needed to go back to its cradle for 2 recharges before it finished. That meant a long cleaning cycle. However about the recharging, I have a lot of chairs and things on the floor, so I noticed the Roomba had to spent a lot of time working its way around all my obstacles. This had to take up excess battery time. If my house were more sparse, perhaps one charge cycle could have been eliminated. Also, I had to empty the bin three times I think. That means I needed to be there for it to finish due to it needing the bin emptied. This could be avoided by more frequent vacuuming. Overall it's a great device. I absolutely hate hate hate to vacuum, and any alternative is worth it to me. And if I'm going to buy a robot vacuum I'm going all in with the one that runs from an app or my Amazon Alexa and has maximum power and features. Hence the 980.

I was skeptical but with all hard surface floors, rugs, and dogs this machine saves a lot of time and bending over to get under beds, tables, etc. it was hard to justify the cost, but after 30 days of using it I would buy it again.

Had my doubts that this would be a good buy, boy was I wrong. This was a great purchase, surpassed all of my expectations. Easy to set up, the app works very well. Battery lasts 2 hours, cleans very well, even pet hair. Works on carpet just as well as wood floors. HIghly recommend this product

Does a great job on carpet and hard floors. We were especially impressed with the job it did under beds and sofas.

I was leery at first but after 30 days of use I find this machine awesome. The Roomba 980 finds dirt that my very powerful upright can't, it makes nice lines, sometimes at 45 degrees and sometimes at 90 degrees to its base station which is a nice feature. The scheduling feature and app are also nice feature. % stars for this machine.

The 980 was delivered on schedule from Best Buy. There was no package damage. Unit worked on first try without any issue. The first cycle was about 20 minutes before it went back home to recharge. Subsequent cycles are longer and cleaning is much better than 5 year old Roomba. Overall we very pleased with the cleaning performance, especially the way it handles dog hair without clogging the brushes. The 980 holds more debris than the previous unit and it communicates issues as needed, e.g. caught under furniture.

I was very hesitant to purchase a vacuum that was automatic. Nothing could be a good old hand vacuuming. At first, as the robot was learning the house - my thoughts were, this is just stupid. The robot was erratic and made no sense at all! It took about 3 days, but it finally found it's way! it is amazing to walk in to clean fresh floors every evening! It is amazing what it actually pics up!!! - and we have it set to vacuum daily! The house just feels cleaner! Three weeks in - the dust level in the house is almost nothing on the furniture! How did we ever live without this machine!! We even use it on our second level, once it recharges - and in our airbnb property. You will still have to get out the old vacuum every once in a while to do the corners and non reachable areas - but heck, that had to be done anyways! Get this machine, be patient at first - as it learns your house, you will not regret it!

Simple set up and works amazing! Just make sure to supervise the machine for first run. Can get caught up in certain areas.

This thing is amazing. Expensive, but worth it. Don't freak out the first time you use it, as the dust bin will fill quickly. But that's just because it's so darn effective. After the first use, it easily cleans an entire floor of my house(1500 sq ft) without filling up or needing to charge. You'll be surprised at how much it picks up.

We wanted to purchase a robotic vacuum so we could let it take care of the floors and we wouldn't have to! I had a Roomba Discovery about 12 years ago, and decided I wanted to go with another iRobot product. the Roomba 900-series fit the bill primarily because of the entire-floor vacuuming feature, the 980 because of the carpet boost and the long run time. It has gotten stuck under the couch a few times, but i have raised it a half inch, which solved that problem.

It's better for two reasons: 1. You have the option of telling it to stop (it will return to home base) when it's bin is full. The Samsung R9350 doesn't have this feature. 2. iRobot Tech Support - is so much better than Samsung's that Samsung should be VERY embarrassed. #1 is the kicker though. If the Samsung R9350 had the "stop when bin is full" feature, we may very well have returned the Roomba 980 and got another R9350. We first bought the R9350 but returned it after about 6 days. We do have a review of the R9350 posted. The fact that it kept running after the bin was full (only a somewhat dim indicator light went on) and it couldn't map our house after 4 tries were the reason's we took it back. I could have lived with the poor Samsung tech support. Random thoughts: 1. Both bots haven't successfully mapped our house although iRobot is trying to figure out why. Their tech support is awesome! 2. The R9350 is more powerful. But that that much to make a huge difference. 3. The bigger wheels on the R9350 help it get on top if rugs better. 4. The 980 doesn't seem to have the battery life that the R9350 when it's running. The 980 required 90 minutes to recharge. It didn't seem like the R9350 took that long. It takes the 980 7+ hours to clean the house, and that's not counting a couple of small areas that it hasn't mapped. 5. The R9350, what it was able to map, is far superior to the 980 mapping. The R9350 mapping divides up the rooms and you can name them. You could pick rooms for the R9350 to go and clean. The 980 doesn't have this capability. The 980 can only clean the whole house starting from the beginning. 6. The R9350 advertises a larger bin, but the 980 holds a lot of dog and cat hair! Very happy about this! 7. The 980 is shorter which allows it to clean under beds and such. 8. I think in general the 980 gets places that the R9350 won't. 9. If you get a 980, take compressed air and blow out the paper filter. Shaking it out isn't enough. The cleaner the filter is the better the 980 cleans. 10. The 980 was $100 or so cheaper but we still bought the more expensive one first. 11. These were our first bot vac's we've ever owned. If I think of anything else I'll try to come back and edit my post.

I absolutely love this vacuum cleaner. Yes, it's a tad expensive but unlike previous models (the 800's and below) this one is actually smart! It doesn't just bounce around the walls and furniture. It knows where it is. It cleans my entire 2900 sq foot home. Not in one charge mind you, but it gets it done. Side note: When it returns to its dock to charge it returns to where it left off when it resumes. Just make sure you empty the bin. It does fill up kinda fast.

I first conducted research online on various brands and models of robot vacuums. I narrowed it down to the Roomba, the New Dyson and Samsungs version of a robot vacuum. The Roomba had the best reviews and was one of the pioneers of robot vacuums. It was cheaper than the Dyson but more than the Samsung. The Dyson was the newest one, most expensive, and had the worst reviews. Mostly because it was tall and did not go under furniture very well. Last was the Samsung vacuum. It was the cheapest and was even on sale. I've had bad experiences with Samsung products in the past so I wasn't going down that path again. I ended up going with the Roomba. Yes it is expensive, but well worth it. I have two dogs, one a husky, that's sheds all year round. The Roomba takes care of it all. The Roomba is set to a schedule which is all controlled by the app. The app even tracks when the Roomba needs service. All and all, this is one of the best purchases I've ever made. It does a great job cleaning my carpets and linoleum floors. I recommend it 100%!

This is our first robotic vacuum. We have hardwood and rugs and don't have time to babysit the vacuum, so we bought what we have heard is the best on the market with the mapping feature. We are happy with how clean it keeps our floors, but a bit annoyed that it gets stuck in the middle of cleaning most of the time. We have it set to run while we are away and it notifies me of some kind of problem every time it runs. - There are a few spots in our home where the Roomba routinely gets stuck thinking its on a cliff (a small doormat that is not very high). We think a light/dark spot confuses the cliff sensors. Internet suggestions say to cover them up. I tried that and it seemed to get better, but why not a software config for this iRobot? - It does great on our carpet, but our hardwood kitchen always seems to need extra passes. The software isn't flexible enough to program that into the roomba. - The bin is tiny and always fills up before finishing the ground floor of the house (mostly hardwood with a 10x13 rug there that seems to pull up a lot of fiber.) The Roomba keeps going fortunately.

The robot is a wonderful machine. We had one several years ago but it had to be charged separately and never was satisfactory but this new one is wonderful. The first time it cleaned, it took longer but after mapping the house, it takes a lot less time. It cleans under beds and cabinets extremely well. It will get tangled in wires on the floor if they are not attended to. We are extremely pleased with the product and heartily recommend it to all.

We are very satisfied for having owned it for 1 month. It's so smart that it's scary. What a difference it has made on our floors. We have a yellow lab that sheds all the time. When our son's dogs visit....the iRobot Roomba 980 meets its expectations. This model also truly helps with allergens. I'm noticing a difference!
