I thought I would love this product, but I didn’t. It’s noisy, and I do not believe it does a good job. It also takes forever to charge. I would not recommend it.

Works how it’s intended. Great robot. Maps everything. Very thankful to run this daily and pick up any leftover dirt off the floor.

iRobot Roomba Combo Essential Robot Vacuum & Mop I was looking forward to using the Irobot Roomba Essential Combo Vacuum & Mop because I felt like there was always something left to do after vacuuming my hardwood floors. Now I have a mop as well. This is the essential version so I knew I would be giving up a few options or luxuries. Unboxing was easy. There was a basic charging stand, the robot vacuum/mop, the mop pad, an extra pad, edge sweeper, and charging stand cord. Boxing was fairly basic, but it did have a hand QR code I could scan to get the smartphone app, Apple or Android. Setup was simple. I plugged in the stand, and it had a handy velcro loop at the back so that you can store the excess cord. I decided to attach the mop pad so that I could vacuum and mop. I also attached the edge sweeper that’s good for corners and edges. You can add cleaning solution or even water (not warm water) to the water bin for mopping. This bin holds a good amount of water to clean a large size area of my floors. I would estimate about 800 sq ft with about half of the bin full when done. You will also want to dampen the mop cloth before mopping or it will streak dry and wet (if you forget.) There is a filter, and a brush and cutter for when the brushes need cleaning. I found basic scissors work a little better if you need to cut hair out of the brush. The app has all of the essentials and a few unique additions. From the top down: If you have multiple vacuums you can switch between each one with a drop down arrow. Status - This should typically say “Ready to Vacuum” and also give you a visual on battery charge. Favorites - You can choose Vacuum or Vacuum & Mop, or you can add a time limit for when you would like it to return to base. This might be helpful if you want to do a quick vacuum before leaving or bedtime. Schedule - This is one of the best features of the app. You can set a schedule for cleaning or even schedule when not to clean with “Do Not Disturb.” History - If you do have a schedule and you are away, this is helpful to see how the robot performed, and check for problems or errors, or even check how long it took to clean. Messages - This will give you tips regarding your robot, or it might tell you when your robot needs maintenance. There’s a special offers section where you can basically shop for other Roomba vacuums. Product Health - This is where it will notify you when you need to replace parts. It looks like you can shop on the Roomba store for parts or accessories. If parts need to be replaced, it might impact the cleaning effectiveness. I did find the need to remove hair that was being tangled into the rollers and wheels. Any person or dog with long hair living in your house and you might find the need to clean the rollers and wheels every 2 or 3 runs. Product Settings - You can see the detailed specifications regarding your robot. You can locate your robot by making a sound. It will need battery and wifi to locate. Cleaning preferences allows you to change liquid settings or vacuum suction settings. You can reboot your Roomba, or change Wifi if necessary. Owner’s Guide - Downloadable PDF to view the guide on how to use. Help Section - You will find a comprehensive help guide explaining any potential problem or error code to troubleshoot your vacuum. When there’s a problem, you will hear a voice and an error code number. From here you can reference the help guide to get familiar with the error codes. I found one the first time I picked up the robot while it was still on so that I could attach the mop pad. You can even find support in the help section by phone, email, or online help. Help section is very “helpful.” There’s also a store section on the bottom right of the app where you can purchase other robots or accessories such as filters, edge sweeping brushes, the main vacuum brush or additional mopping pads. Performance - You basically have 3 settings for vacuum and mopping. They default to medium settings. What I found helpful is the first run through a room I would set it to high for vacuuming. This allowed me to really clean the floors or carpets. Then on the next run a couple of days later, I could move it to Medium or even low due to the floors already being somewhat clean. For mopping, you can choose high if you want the floors wetter or medium if you want them less wet. I found the medium setting only needed about 15 to 20 minutes to completely dry. If your floors are dirty, I would recommend both vacuum and mop set to high for the first run. The battery might discharge a little faster but your robot is smart enough to know when to go back for a charge. I was impressed how the vacuum navigated clutter, rugs, and hard to navigate chair legs, tripods, etc… The robot was able to find its way out of every tough situation it encountered. I fully expected it to get stuck in my bedroom. We have clutter from the baby, kids, and furniture, but the robot navigated the room well. I even found it moving in circles under the bassinet, impressive. Finding its way back to the charging stand was a bit of a challenge from across the house, it uses IR. The robot took a couple of left turns, but found its way back to the charging stand in a matter of approximately 5 minutes. Floors were clean, it navigated around adults, kids, pets, rugs, furniture, walls, and shoes with no problems. On high suction, it discharged about half the battery in 45 minutes when cleaning the master bedroom. It does not have the ability to map a room so when you turn it on, it will go everywhere it can until it’s done, or the battery needs recharging. If I wanted to vacuum a bedroom, an easy move was to close the door, let it do its work, then pause and tell it to go home from the app. Once you are done cleaning you can remove the tray for emptying with the push of a button. Overall, I like the Roomba combo, especially for hardwood or tile floors. For carpets you will need to remove the mop pad (can be removed in about 5 seconds, snaps in and out) and empty the mop water (can be easily drained in any sink, has a basic plug.) The robot navigated well. I would recommend moving clutter pre-clean so that it doesn’t run over anything you’re trying to avoid. I have a dog pad for my chihuahuas and I tried to place shoes around it. The vacuum is rather smart and strong so it was busting right through basic barriers. This is a great budget option for a full combo of vacuuming and mopping. Floors will be clean and there will be little babysitting. You can hit start or schedule and let it go to work. I would recommend this Roomba for anyone that needs a cleaning robot on a budget and doesn’t need any bells or whistles. I would say if you have a robot with the ability to map rooms and no-go zones, it’s hard to step down to the essentials because you can’t custom clean specific rooms from the app. However, I could see the need for this as an additional robot that you use in specific areas of the house. The mop is a valuable tool for keeping hardwood or tile floors clean. Personally I’m using two robot vacuums in my house depending on what my needs are. Pros *Hardwood floors are very clean after vacuum and mop *Smart robot doesn’t get stuck *Scheduling is convenient *Multiple clean settings *Battery life is adequate *Comprehensive app Cons/Needs work *Does not have the ability to map a room, which also means No “no-go zones.” *Robot will push things around such as shoes or anything fairly loose or flimsy *You will have to remove mop pad and drain water when switching to vacuum, which also means you will need to separate hardwood vacuum/mopping with carpet vacuuming. *You will need to manually empty the vacuum (no self-emptying) I'll give it a 4 out of 5. It operates very well for a budget vacuum and mop. It's smart, it's quiet, but I'd like some basic mapping so that I can choose rooms to clean versus an entire area or house. When you're cleaning an entire house you will also need at least one recharge depending on the size of the house. As an additional vacuum, this robot could be very handy. For mopping, it's definitely 5 stars. I loved this feature.

Works great. Haven’t tried the mop yet but the vacuum function works very well. You do need to remove larger debris from the floor to prevent them from getting stuck or the robot getting stuck.

Great if you got a frencie My lil guy sheds a lot so this is great and picking up his fur while I am at work. I noticed a lot less fur when sweeping.

Good vacuum for the price. The charge doesn’t last as long as the previous one but I paid a lot more for the first one
