I'm getting used to this product however, when setting it up, it would not register on the app by scanning the bar code. I had to backdoor my way in. I don't even remember how. BUT, it doesn't register as a unit that mops and sweeps so i can't get it to do both. The instructions are minimal. AND i keep getting an error that the bag is not on the tank. Brand new bag! Ugh

Literally the worst product I’ve ever bought. Purchased this beginning of October, let it run one time to map the house then actually clean. Hasn’t worked since. After running one time through my house it didn’t empty the bin like it was supposed to, so I manually emptied it then tried running it again. Ever since it has given me an error 26. I contacted iRobot who basically said I ALREADY have to replace the cleaning head which is absurd to me and apparently I’m out of the return window so I have a glorified paper weight sitting on my floor taking up space. All I wanted was something I could run when I wasn’t home so my house wouldn’t be so dirty. Never again will I buy another robot of any brand

The iRobot worked intermittently and its battery life is very short. My house is 2200 sqft and requires 3 battery recharges to be cleaned.
Now the connection to the internet is failing in the middle of the cleaning which requires us to manually bring it back to the station. Very short time (JAN TO JUN) for a product to cause too much trouble.

We have two floors in our house with hardwood and have one iRobot system with schedule to do cleaning each week. It was difficult to carry the same for second floor as only one smart map can be stored. We were looking to buy second iRobot and got iRobot Roomba Combo i5+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum and Mop.
It came with Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal, 1 Extra High-Efficiency Filter, 1 Roomba Combo Bin, 2 Cleaning Pads and 2 Dirt Disposal Bags. Setup is easy by connecting the base with power and charge the iRobot for few hours before first use. I have used existing iRobot app and added this second iRobot. After the full charge, I have used Smart Map to capture the second-floor map and it took close to 1 hour to complete entire smart map.
After creating smart map, I have started the Roomba with vacuum everywhere option and it took almost 1 hour to complete the cleaning and returned to the base to empty the bin as well as for charging. In the app, there are option to label the floor with names like Kitchen, Living Room, Dinning in smart map with room divers. Also, favorites can be created for each room label and perform cleaning only specific to a room. There is option to clean favorite rooms and with one click Roomba will start cleaning the floor immediately. I was impressed with Roomba i5+ and it has better suction and navigate with specific direction instead of going to random places.
It is running very quiet during operation and very loud while emptying the bin. It charges very fast on the dock and schedule can be created in the app to perform cleaning regularly. It Is designed to do vacuum and mop for wet and dry floor cleaning. We had tiles in bathrooms and mop is working perfectly on those areas.
It pulls all dirt and debris with a 4-Stage Cleaning System, featuring unique Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes that adjust to different floor types and avoid getting tangled with hair. It automatically empties the bin, and it holds up to 60 days of debris.
The design of mopping pad is great and provided much better cleaning for hard floors. For mop, water or cleaning can be used in Roomba Combo Bin Tank. It works with Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant-enabled devices and easy to control by voice commands to clean the kitchen, living room, or every room.
I have been using iRobot Roomba Combo i5+ and it does the job well for cleaning and moping. iRobot make quality products for cleaning and mopping and iRobot Roomba Combo i5+ is another great product.

I haven't even started using it because the product arrived without a charger. It was an open box, which wasn't a big deal, but I didn't expect it to come without any charging equipment. It was supposed to be a Christmas present, but now it can't be returned. So, I have a product that I need to spend more money on just to get a charger.

This is a great vacuum for regular cleaning and mopping. It works efficiently, runs relatively quietly, and has an included dust storage bin for self-emptying when done. I don’t have much negative to say about this vacuum as it checks most blocks for what the average home might require.
Pros:
-Stylish
-Smart
-Mopping ability
-Self emptying
-Rubber rollers (prevents hair build-up)
-Easy to clean
-Great app
Cons:
-Mopping requires the removal of rugs first
-No LIDAR or camera
Setup:
Assembly is overall simple. Attach the base unit to the wall, dock the robot, remove any plastic, and pair it with the app. Of note, my unit only paired via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi even though it detected 5 GHz, so it took a few tries to figure that out. Once I used 2.4 GHz it worked just fine. There is a spare bag in the dust bun included as well.
Use:
For the first use, I sent the robot out mapping. In doing this, it got stuck behind a door and I had to let it out, it took a few hours to notice this, and it was still bumping into walls trying to get out, so I was surprised it had plenty of battery left. The issue was the robot closed the door on itself, so I don’t fault the mapping software. After mapping, I let it charge and tried a cleaning run. It ran through the rooms effectively and was not too loud overall. What is loud is when the robot empties itself in the dust bin, this is very loud so I would not use that at night.
The vacuum cleans very well on most floors, and I experienced no issues here. It does not include a camera or LIDAR so it will map things out by bumping into them but it gets more efficient with time. One aspect I wish was better is the mopping feature. It works well to clean but when used, it will mop everything! So be sure to remove rugs from the floor and tell it only to clean rooms that need mopping, do not push “vacuum everywhere” if you have mixed floors in your house when mopping. There are higher-end models that can identify the floor type and stop mopping but this model cannot differentiate.
Software:
The app works very well, and I experienced no bugs. You can easily control the robot's functions and tell it which room to clean, what schedule to utilize, and view history and errors. I found the product health page useful as you can see how many hours are left on the filter, brushes, and rollers before needing cleaning or replacement. You can also enable child/pet locks on the app to keep kids from playing with the device. My device took a few cleanings before it let me label the rooms that were mapped out.

I live in a split level home 2 levels downstairs, and 2 levels upstairs. In the last 6 years I've tried 6 or 7 different robot vacuums in my 4 levels. Originally my first robot "ate" most of the fringe off of one of my oriental carpets. Lesson learned, create exclusion zones, or find another vacuum. All of my floors are hardwood or tile, but most have various rugs. My "good" orientals are no longer on my floors. I still have 3 (that have fringe, in my dining room, family room and in my master bedroom (all on different levels). So I continue to look for "new and improved robots' ". The "new" feature I most vigorously support are the self emptying stations/towers. I love that the robot can run, return to its station to empty or recharge and then continue its work until finished. I recall that my first robot seemed like it needed to have its dustbin emptied every 40 minutes. This new iRobot i5+ should only need to have its cleaning bag changed every 2 months.
First my experience with the i5+. Installation was a breeze, mostly because I already had the iRobot app installed. Adding it to my others was simple (one will go away, as this will replace an older unit). I, probably foolishly, had it map and clean at the same time (can't recommend this). So from the "Map" icon, have it create a new map. It does this faster (and IMHO more accurately) when not vacuuming. I actually had to do this 3 different times before I got an accurate map. The first time it found a wire attached to the power supply, under a bed (that I didn't recall was there) that caused me to restart mapping. The second it got caught in a tight area where it could not get out of, by moving a couch a few inches this was corrected. But if you pick it up while it's mapping you don't get accurate results (or so I found). The third time took 50 minutes, and it included a family room (30x15), bedroom (12x15), laundry area (8x12) and a bathroom (6x5). This seemed reasonable. Vacuuming the same area took about 2h 30m; it returned home once after 2h to empty, and departed fairly quickly after it got there. It did a very good job of getting into corners, but it left a few dust bunnies against a rug that it had to crawl up on (on an oriental w/some fringe). It struggled with the fringe going "up" through it, but had no problems moving over it when coming off. This robot moves much slower on my thick wool pile oriental than it does on a hard floor. On a 1 to 10 score I'd give it an 8 for its cleaning. After its map was complete it no longer got stuck. I connected my Robot to Google home, and was able to use my voice to tell the robot to start cleaning.
The map is pretty accurate, furniture in its way prevented it from being more accurate. In trying the mop function, I was concerned it would go on to the carpet, so I watched it for quite some time, it would bump into the rug but not go upon it. If the robot knows where the rug is, it should show the difference on the map (it would have let me think it knew what it was doing). But it does not, boo! How well does it mop, on a 1 to 10 score maybe a 6. I suspect if I used it over and over it would get better and better, but after the first pass there were some greatly improved areas, and others.... that still needed work. The mopping function uses a minimum amount of water, I would not hesitate to use them on wood floors. Getting the mop on/off the unit is a very manual operation, but the mopping tray swings in/out pretty easily, but you need to raise the robot or bend down to the floor. I understand the more expensive i9 unit can automatically put the mop up/down. But that's not what I have.
So I'm definitely going to retire a 5yr old robot (I know someone that will love to have it). It still works well, but is MUCH louder than this new i5+, in fact that is another big difference. The room mapping is greatly improved, and it's much quieter. And I'd still rather it runs when I'm away. In fact, with its new interface to my phone, it knows when I leave the house, and I can program it to clean when I'm not there (I love this idea). So, other features, well my old unit had three vacuum power settings, this unit is supposed to be able to determine what power level to use automatically, except on carpet I never detected any other power suction changes. This I am still not sure about. The battery capacity on the i5+ is more than double my old unit, which never worked more than 1 hour. I know the i5+ can run well over 2, another big advantage. But the dust bin is my favorite feature. It comes with an extra dust bag, and a place to store the extra (see image). But if I only need to change the bag every 3 months, that will be fine by me. When I use the last one, I'll order 2 more new ones, no rush. Technology moves forward, and brings us better products (again).

Limited Features but Does the Basics

Overall this Roomba Combo does a decent job vacuuming and mopping. The automatic dust bin emptying performs well and the iRobot app is relatively straight forward. However compared to the Roomba j5+ and j7+ it lacks some of the better features and cleaning capabilities but those units cost quite a bit more money. If your budget can’t afford the better models the Roomba Combo i5+ does perform the basic functions as expected.
Pros:
- Creates accurate maps
- Automatically empties the dirt into the base dust bin bag
- Good object detection and avoidance
- Has mopping function
Cons:
- No control over mopping fluid flow
- No indicator on how much fluid is left in the mopping bin
- You cannot create mopping zones
- You cannot mop and vacuum in the same run due to different bins
- Base dust bin uses bags
Setup and Use: I already own a Roomba so after charging the vacuum I opened the app on my phone and added this new one. I then had the Roomba do a mapping run which it did fairly quickly and accurately. Using the iRobot app I then created and named the rooms that I wanted this Roomba to cover. Note that this Roomba recognizes the iRobot barrier devices if you have them. I removed the chairs and throw rugs from the hardwood floor and had the Roomba do a complete vacuum run. This Roomba seems to be noisier and not quite as powerful as I expected. It does a decent job vacuuming and when the vacuum finished the job it does empty the dirt into the base dust bin. After it recharged I filled the mopping bin with water, installed the mop pad and sent it out to mop the entire area that it just vacuumed. I was pleasantly surprised by the consistency and the overall amount of fluid across the entire mopping pad. I didn’t have any puddles or standing water left on the hardwood floors anywhere. On the downside the app nor the vacuum have indicators that tell you when it runs out of fluid so you have to monitor this on your first run to make sure you have added enough fluids. Another issue is that there isn’t anyway to control the fluids so there is no way to adjust how much fluid is actually being placed on the pad. Because the vacuuming bin and mopping bin are separate units you cannot vacuum and mop in the same session.
App: The iRobot app has been around for a long time and its mapping function is one of the best. The maps are fairly refined and easy to create and name rooms. The downside is that this Roomba does not support no-go areas or allow you to create customizable clean zones. You cannot create no-mop zones which is a problem if you have areas with carpeting and hard surfaces. Also this unit does not recognize or report hazards or obstacles such as cords on the floor or pet waste. The app is fairly intuitive to use but the information and instructions on using the mopping function is lacking.

iRobot Roomba Combo i5+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum & Mop - Woven Neutral
Summary: Performant, powerful, multi-purpose compact robot vacuum.
Pros:
* Performant. I have another Roomba and I love it. But this one easily outperforms it in a direct comparison.
* Powerful. This unit feels substantial, and you can feel the power behind the motors/wheels and the performance is clearly visible.
* Vacuum and Mop. Multi-functional robot offers you the flexibility to clean different flooring types.
* Self-emptying. The self-emptying base form factor is different than the jX models. It features a lower wider profile and offers a small chamber to store spare consumables.
* App. The app, once paired, is perfect for controlling the unit. Though, I have the Alexa skill configured and use it to initiate manual cleanings. Otherwise, the app schedule runs 5 days a week. The mapping capabilities are amazing, and the feedback feature allows me to help the robots learn about obstructions, new obstructions, temporary ones, etc. The robot and consumable status are also very helpful.
* Looks. The woven top panel, the materials of the base station, and overall design are pretty sexy for a robot vacuum. Definitely a differentiator as an appliance.
Cons:
* Mop. The mop bin unfortunately, is pretty small. I feel like it isn't practical enough for me to have on the main floor. I will likely leave it on the floor of my home featuring the carpeted surface.
* App. I did have trouble pairing the Roomba at first. I'm not sure why, but the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi config just wouldn't work properly the first time. Second time it worked just fine.
Use:
As I mentioned, I have another Roomba. Though it worked well, it wasn't great at picking up my Corgi's hair. In fact, it would weave yarn with his hair and leave them on the floor everywhere. This unit doesn't do that - it appears to clean the carpeted floors really well and vacuums it all up. I don't even have to enable the "continue cleaning regardless of sensor status." Previously, I had to enable the option because five minutes of run time and the vacuum would think it's bin was full. But it wasn't close. The other vacuum still works well, but it has now been reassigned to another floor.
I won't be using the mop bin, because it simply cannot clean the entire main space hardwood floors without several refills. The main floor is open concept and that is why it is so large.
I know the price point for Roombas can seem a bit higher than competing solutions. But I have nothing but praise for Roomba's latest offerings. If you're on the fence and need a multi-function unit to clean an average sized room, then this unit is for you.

Good vacuum, aceptable mop feature

This iRobot is nice effective little vacuum with excellent battery life. There’s a significant improvement from previous two iRobots that I’ve had. One of the most obvious changes is the rollers underneath no longer have brushes which may be to why it is better at picking up debris and liquids (water and cleaner fluid in my case) I comes with a small additional air filter. There’s been a sacrifice of one of two traditional brushes but it has not diminished the effectiveness of picking dirt and hair. The mopping feature is not as effective as I’d like on tile that has grout but very good on hardwood. The mop cloth is tricky to install but not difficult, it is not that absorbent as the manual larger size ones. Still, for routine and small areas work quite well. It comes with a separate container for water/mopping liquid. The base has a very powerful vacuum with two bags included. It is a bit too loud for my liking, just like a regular size vacuum. It automatically activates once the robot returns to base. These little vacuums are very useful to automate the house choirs.
