Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the Roomba i7+'s self-emptying feature as a game-changer, eliminating the need for frequent manual emptying. Pet owners appreciate its effectiveness in cleaning dog hair, while many users praise its ease of use and the convenience of its scheduling feature. However, some users find the vacuum to be quite loud, particularly during the self-emptying process, and a few express concerns about its price and the cost of replacement bags.

This iRobot I7 has trouble cleaning all areas that it’s supposed to it gets lost, and it never hardly ever empties the bin on its own I think it’s way overpriced

We really like this iRobot but we only gave it 3 stars because we have to pick up after it. It leaves piles of pet hair at some of the turns rather than picking it up. See photo. The photo was take on the 2nd of two back to back runs. Nice thing is since they are piles it’s easy to pick up but I would have expected the hair to go into the bin.

I have 3 labs, they shed. While I love the convenience of not having to constantly empty the bin, Roomba i7+ doesn't perform well on carpeted floors. Clumps of debris (dirt & dog hair) were left behind. The vacuum doesn't always find its way back to the docking station & runs out. My house is a long rancher & I have it run twice a day. The app is great at relaying information. iRobot customer service is very good. They aren't sure why the vacuum is leaving the debris behind. They are sending me new rubber brushes, I hope this can solve this problem. We are also moving the station to different areas to see if that is better. I clicked the "would refer" button. There isn't one for "unsure".

Overall its above the avg. Easy to schdule. Cleans carpets and hardfloor. Requires improvements. Somes times its throws dust to corners and leaves dust when there is up and downs(hardwood to carpets and vice-versa). Makes lot of sounds when empting the dust.

Great on hardwood floors, but got stuck on my carpet, every time. Wanted it to work so much as we have a furry pup! But we also have carpets and robot vacuums are just not there yet. It would get through about 2-3 times, then stop.

Doesn't sound like it has much/if any suction and does not increase when on carpet. It has emptied twice and doesn't feel like anything in the bag. VERY finicky about how much room around the base. Won't dock unless there is 4 feet of CLEAR space straight out from base. Incredibly noisy regarding rollers and turning. Not a fan. Probably going to return. Will try it a few more times.

It vacuums but has a habit of dying before it can figure out the way back to the base station. Additionally, the bag could have very easily been engineered to be re-usable. The fact that you are pressure to buy new bags, when you can just as easily empty the bag your current bag if they let you remove the lid, is a downright money-grab.

I love my roomba except for one thing!!! I have a very low pile carpet and it leaves behind many clumps of cat hair and I only have one long haired cat!!! I vacuum every 2-3 days and I then have to walk around and pick up the clumps of hair left behind…,.it also leaves behind some of the cat litter on the floor! So I usually have to get out my other vacuum to clean that up. If I didn’t have a cat I would give this vacuum a 4.5 as it does leave some fuzz and hair along the edges of rugs.

Shoulda invested in a traditional vac instead

This was a spontaneous purchase. Ive always been interested in these vacuums so I decided to take the plunge. Honestly, I would rather have spent this amount of money on a traditional vacuum. The technology is cool but I can vacuum my apartment (1300 Sq ft) in about 10 mins...this thing takes like 3 hours! I would say that it gets "stuck" about 75% of the time and it doesn't take much at all for it to get stuck on something. Its constantly banging into stuff and it can be kinda loud and annoying if ur running it while home. I can see how this can benefit some people but for me, I wish I woulda invested my money else where. The self emptying feature is pretty nice though IF you do plan on buying a Rooomba.

The concept is excellent, but this unit still has a few issues. It completes the job and returns to the charging station about 40% of the time. It usually stops before it gets to the charging station, and I have to put it back manually. Also, when it makes it back on its own, it does not line up correctly and can't charge.

I've cleaned the Roomba more times than the Roomba has cleaned my house. I did a lot of research and saw a lot of reviews and decided to go for the I7+. The Roomba hasnt completed a cleaning job since I bought it. It never empties itself onto the Base, instead it makes me empty the bin in the Roomba. I bought it so that I can clean the house while I'm at work, but it stops cleaning after 15- 20 minutes and tells me it couldn't empty itself. I come home to see if it got stuck or vacuumed something large, but it's always empty. I'm giving it a fair review because it does vacuum, but the amount of time I've wasted dealing with it is just annoying.

The product is ok. Not as powerful as advertised. It happened a few times that after cleaning the floor is still dirty. Additionally, the cleaning pattern is a bit messy taking more time than other robot vacuums I had. Overall, it is a study product that does what it should - overpriced though.

Works but frequently runs out of power and can’t get back to charging station. Also frequently does not set correctly on charger and does not charge. It does clean lots of dog hair and goes over shag carpet as well as floors. Needs to be cleaned nearly every week and filters and brushes need to be replaced frequently. Seems to go over the same areas over and over.

So far good, given 3 stars because just haven’t used it that much to have complete opinion. I was hoping to see more suction on the tile floor.Seems missing a lot. I will have better idea when I have more experience with it.

First, the good. I purchased this after trying Shark's latest and greatest robot vacuum. It was a vast improvement over that one. It mapped my house really well, and proceeds to vacuum in a methodical way. The cleaning is pretty good, but not great. I like the app integration, and being able to schedule cleanings from my phone. Now the bad. It just doesn't clean very well for such an expensive vacuum. Also, it's loud AF. ESPECIALLY on hard floors. I ended up returning this model, and going with the Roomba S9+. I didn't want to spend the extra for the S9+, but I'm telling you, it's worth every penny. That model is an improvement over this one in every single way.

My husband and I had a Shark robot that unfortunately broke but was still under warranty. We tried to exchange, but they no longer made that model so we got store credit. Was weary to order this roomba because of the reviews of hair clumping, being left on the rug etc. we ordered anyway because we needed another robot vacuum as we have 2 cats and a dog. We just received today and had it run for 10 minutes and will be returning. We just deep vacuumed our house on Monday and we let the roomba “map” the house and there were clumps of hair everywhere that were not being picked up. Very disappointed and not sure how this robot is $900 full price.

It's pretty good. Much better for a larger house than the random-walk vacuum that I used to have - but not perfect. The dock works well, except that my vacuum has a tendacy to miss-dock by a fraction of an inch and run out of batteries. The vacuuming patterns are pretty good, with three problems. The vacuum insists on clicking and clacking back and forth across thresholds even when I've done my best to mark the room boundaries carefully, it has a tendency to snag on power cords, and it occasionally knocks over a water dish or plant. The app is fairly easy to use, but it can be awfully slow to connect at times - I wish it connected faster. I also wish there was an option to 'snooze' a job, so I can pause it for a couple minutes without having to restart it later.

When it works, it’s great. 3 months in and it fails to complete a job 1 in 4 times. Now it needs parts to fix. Not much confidence in it lasting long past the warranty period if I have to replace parts this quickly. Plus the rollers do not prevent hair clogs. Roomba told me it should be cleaned once a week. I only have it running 3 days a week.
