Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the Roomba i7+'s self-emptying feature as a game-changer, eliminating the need for frequent manual emptying. Pet owners appreciate its effectiveness in cleaning dog hair, while many users praise its ease of use and the convenience of its scheduling feature. However, some users find the vacuum to be quite loud, particularly during the self-emptying process, and a few express concerns about its price and the cost of replacement bags.

The first one we've ever owned. Keeps our house clean with 3 dogs and one cat. Love the schedule we created for cleaning the litterbox floor every day and vacuuming the house 3 times a week while we work.

I love the new technology, this is my 3rd Iroomba purchase , 4th if you count the Braava Jet (2nd gen mop). Pros: love that it maps my home and I can create boundaries on the app. Older model may have done this but I never used it. Now I’m all about using product to full potential. Love that it empties every time it docks, and it finds docking station with out a problem. Love that if lost somewhere in your house (haven’t had to use this feature yet) you can find its location. This was a pain with older model as it would die somewhere and we all had to hunt for the iroomba in a 3700 sq foot home. LOVE that It links to my Alexa and I can remotely make it clean as well as program it to clean daily by naming the rooms. Con: I find it doesn’t have the same determination to cover all areas. At times I find left over residual after it’s vacumed floor/rug. Never had this with older models (800 series). Possible I may need to just reset it to pass over flooring/rug more than once. Can be done on app. Yup that’s about it for the cons.

We have owned several iRobot vacuums in the past. We recently moved into a new home and decided to try the latest S9+ model, this model arrived perfectly packaged but when we powered it up, it would clean only a small area and then the red light ring would appear. We returned that model and when we could not get another S9 without having to wait for weeks, we decided to replace with the i7+ and glad we did, it works beautifully. We have had some minor connectivity issues and during a mapping it got stuck but these are common and easy fixes. When the vacuum returns to base the dirt disposal runs and empties the bin. The i7 is also the model most recommended for pet households (great at picking up all that cat hair). Would recommend.

Pretty sweet, dynamic duo I7 and M6...

I got the I7 and M6 price matched as a combo over the holidays and saved quite a bit, pretty much got the m6 free. My 2 story has mostly hard flooring so take that into consideration. Initially my kids and I spent alot if time watching the robots navigate the house. They were seemingly lost, cruising around with no real dedication to any room. The 2nd time they both seemed to be determined to follow walls and borders, still not thoroughly cleaning. So after that, I got notification that the little guys were ready for prime time and asked me to set rooms, which I did. I did this per robot on each story, and was given 2 maps as a result. I was rather skeptical about them at this point because the cleaning left alot to be desired from something so $$$. So I targeted a specific room and hit clean on the I7 and was amazed at the difference in the results. It went from wandering around aimlessly the 1st 2 episodes to b-lining straight to rooms around couches and chairs, night and day. It took several passes the 3rd clean and really left very little to nothing at all behind cleaning in rows. This actually was the case for both robots. Since then scheduling their routines was a breeze, and they don't seem to miss a beat. I like them and I guess if I was to judge between them the M6 obviously cleans deeper, fits into tighter spaces, and makes the floor shiny, Yet requires more maintenance from the user. The tech in the I7 makes it quicker to find rooms and seems slightly more at home navigating I'd say. Just to see, I let the dog hair pile up for a week at set them loose. The I7 got most of everything and the m6 got the left over dust and brought it to a shine. I'd buy them again, but I'll admit I'm curious of how well a high end hybrid would compete for the $$$ -1 star because hybrids do both for cheaper and I'd imagine that 2 robots would take longer than 1, especially with initial set up. I'm a little surprised that the results of mapping a floor cannot be shared between robots, each have to map the area separately. Also the I7 didn't get all of the hair out of the carpet when it was allowed to pile up, even on the 2nd try. More of a maintenance machine on carpet, suction isn't the strongest, initially use your standard vacuum before relying on the I7. The M6 has issues with elevation changes between my tile kitchen and my laminated wood floor living area. The M6 treats the transitions like walls and will not cross them.

Vacuum is a lot quieter compared to the 980. Setup is super simple and easy to do. The cleaning base is very loud so be prepared for that. Price tag is still pretty high to other brands. Checkout YouTube for the Roomba i7+ Unboxing, review, 980 comparison, setup, and first time cleaning job video for more in-depth details.

Once I got my house mapped, the robot does a good job. I received error messages while in training mode, and trying to find what they meant and how to resolve them was like working my way through the levels of a video game. There is no comprehensive users manual on the iRobot app. One must navigate to the frequently asked questions, and enter keywords or phrases and hope the subsequent search brings up the information you’re seeking. My biggest disappoint with this unit is that it presses against my white baseboards so hard when it’s cleaning that it leaves black streaks along the entire length and even around corners. If not for the issue with the baseboards and the lack of a users manual, this would be a 5 star rating.

So far so good, it takes awhile to map out house but excited to have it programmed to a schedule. Had one before but pets messed it up. Not Roomba’s fault, this one seems to recognize when you are having issues vacuuming. That’s a great feature.

Pros: Maps the rooms perfectly Smart enough not to leave any spots uncovered Switches from carpet to hard floor seamlessly Decent battery life for covering larger areas Empties dirt into the bin effectively reducing a lot of hassle Keeps room clean when done periodically. Saves a lot of time Cons: The sweep brush at the side sometimes pushes dirt away rather than drawing it in Capable or picking up loose dirt/dust and for light carpet cleaning only, Powerful but sometimes not adequate, but unfair to compare with an upright vacuum or Dyson Not very effective to homes having pets

This model is picked due to the self emptying process. It is a great idea, however robot gets confused time to time. Misses the prescheduled times, mostly due to it needs some assistance. It works great when all is good. Just need to keep it clean from tangled hair and clean the metal connections once a month; replace the filter per schedule and keep an eye on the side brush since it requires to be replaced once in a while. The bag in the base unit for auto emptying is big enough for a few weeks in our case, depending the size of the home and the dirt to be collected. Overall a nice machine, but have to admit that we spend more time to keep it maintained well. The previous model was less maintenance compared to this even with the non-auto-emptying function. The app is easy to use to see which parts need to replaced and when, also change/adjust/update/add to the schedules. Have it setup for multiple days going into different rooms which helps a lot. Nice little helper at home.

This is my third roomba since 2019. It works. It vacuums. The consumables are reasonable and I DON'T need a subscription for it. It is louder than the S9's it is replacing and I have no idea of its longevity, hence the 4 star review. Does a good job on pet hair though.(3 dogs, 5 cats for reference)

It works well however at times can be a little louder especially when it docks once cleaning is completed. The vacuum does pick up well and is easy to set up a schedule via the app.
