Between 4 to 5 stars. I have owned this for over a year. I have three dogs and three cats two of which are long haired. I must say I do recommend buying the Best Buy warranty depending on how much you use it. My previous Roomba models ran for over a year and a half to two years running a minimum two times a day for 5 days a week with cleaning times ranging from a half hour to an hour and a half and the warranty does pay for itself. With that said the j7 Plus with the camera is great for my household due to scheduling cleaning times and being able to see what the robot considers as obstacles or hendrances to cleaning an area. More times than not it might confuse dog toys with messes and avoid that area but definitely has avoided hairballs from my cats. The j7 Plus I run two to three times a day to keep up with the dog and cat hair and dirt that my dogs track in from outside on a mixture of hard flooring in my home. It does okay with low pile rug and not so great on higher pile rugs. I also have it paired with Google and able to command it to clean a certain area that I set up through the app for those times when maybe the floor feels a bit gritty from Dirty Dog Paws. Between the mixture of animal fur and dirt I definitely appreciate the self emptying feature in the clean base and depending on time of year a clean base bag can last 1 to 3 months and the power of the suction to empty into the clean base is powerful and there's no doubt when the time to empty the bag from clean base. The bags have always been fully packed and heavy when it was recommended to be replaced. Best Buy also has the best prices on replacement bags and they are very easy to change out and no mess at all which makes it very nice especially when dealing with fine dust and hair in which when it does empty the Roomba you do not smell or feel dust in the air like I had with previous vacuums when emptying the bins into garbage. The vacuum itself is not always perfect does lose connection with Wi-Fi has issues with Docking at times but definitely easier than pulling out the Shop-Vac every day to do the amount of cleaning that it does. Sometimes if it can't get back on the base and lose its charge it'll tell you to empty the bin. I just wait for it to recharge then reboot the robot and then on the app use the empty bin feature and you don't have to touch it. Dog and cat hair definitely can get tangled on the brushes and get into the nooks and crannies of the robot but periodic cleaning for me roughly once every 2 weeks take the brushes out and clean out all the hair and it's doing good

I had a previous Roomba that wasn't one of the smart ones that did alright. This new one with all the mapping capabilities it has makes it much better. The way it navigates rooms is more calculated and thought out as compared to the chaotic ramming into things of older Roombas. It's gentler when it bumps into walls, actually slowing down a little bit so it's just a tap. Noise wise I think it's a little quieter than previous versions. The loudest noise with this is when it empties itself. It takes around 4-5 seconds and it's a vacuum on full blast. I have a dog that sheds a ton and I was hoping the bags would actually last the 60 days it says. Unfortunately, that's not the case. So far these bags have lasted me about 14 days or so each. The bags are a little pricy and I'd like to see a bagless or re-usable option in the future. The automatic empty and resume features make this vacuum much more set and forget than previous ones I've owned. You will still need to vacuum every week or so to get what the roomba doesn't. I have mine setup to run daily due to the amount of shedding so it keeps it somewhat under control.

Was very hesitant about a robotic vacuum, especially sense we have 3 dogs. I had heard the horror stories and just didn't see it working. In addition, we have furniture and decorations all over the house, and I didn't have any confidence a robot could do the job. $200 off of the j7+ made for a great incentive, and the absolutely guarantee on pet accidents made it a safer bet. After 2 months of use, we couldn't be more pleased. Set up was a non-issue. Take it out of the box, let it charge, turn it loose. It was that simple. It was fascinating watching it explore the house, with literally hundreds of challenges. It poked here and there, finding ways under kitchen chairs, around cords, and getting tight to walls. In a matter of two days it had mapped the 750+ feet of our lower floor with only one mishap...it got stuck once and needed some help to get itself out. It has asked for help when it got a leather shoe lace wrapped around its wheels, but we did ABSOLUTELY no prep of the floors. After mapping it took minutes to identify rooms and setting out of bounds areas couldn't be easier. We can schedule hall areas for daily attention while allowing for a regular schedule on the rest. I wasn't sure about spending the considerably extra amount on self-emptying, but we know feel it was a great investment. The vacuum is completely hands off...we don't touch it or worry about it. It is very loud when emptying, but it takes seconds and overall is quieter than our dyson stick. This thing isn't cheap, and it was a big deal to throw that much at a vacuum, but it's been a great purchase and addition to our home. Also...our dogs were modestly interested at first, but they simply ignore it now and it doesn't frighten them as much as the regular vacuum.

The iRobot Roomba J7+ is our first robot vacuum and boy are we impressed!  Over the last couple of days a few members of the household have been gathering around and just watching in awe how the “bot” goes about its business, around furniture obstacles, even over the thresholds between the living room and kitchen. The object detection of the J7+ works quite well and ties nicely right into its intelligent mapping capability.   iRobot makes everything so easy from the very start - even the unboxing has simple instructions. Once out of the box and bagging materials, just plug the home base in and wait for the Roomba to fully charge. Take this time to download and install the iRobot App on your smartphone and complete the easy setup process that includes creating your iRobot on-line user account if you don’t already have one and get the Roomba connected to your Wi-Fi network.  Once fully charged, which didn’t take long at all, let the fun begin...The Roomba starting its initial mapping going first in straight lines back and forth, then some diagonals and more in between rows making sure it covered every available spot of the floor it had access to. I was a bit nervous shortly after it started, as it was heading toward the stairs, but it clearly knew when to stop, turn around and not fall down the steps.  Then it proceeded to go over the fairly high threshold between the hardwood floor in the living room and the tile floor in the kitchen and dining areas.  Once in the dining area, it had to navigate around several chairs which I should have moved out of the way a bit, but I didn’t really have to, because it managed to find its way inbetween the legs and back out when it couldn’t fit.  The show went on systematically for just over 40 minutes, covering a total of 237 sqft.  That included going over an area rug and under the coffee table.  Once it was done, it found its way back to the home base where it actuated the self-emptying routine which I must say was fairly loud, like a jet airplane taking off, but completed in about 15 seconds. Another nice touch is the home base came with a waste bag pre-installed and a spare right next to it.  Moving on, the next day, I ran the Roomba again and it took nearly five minutes less to cover the same areas, since it already knew where all the obstacles were and perhaps the floor was also cleaner. Now on to using the “vaccum everywhere” function to go down the hallway and discover the 3 bedrooms and bathroom.  Make sure there is enough light so its camera can see open space and objects - the iRobot Roomba J7+ is mighty but a bit “afraid” of the dark :-) All in all, if you can afford it and especially if you have pets that shed a lot, this is the one robot vacuum to get.

I enjoy trying out multiple robot cleaners for my home and can say this one is very self sufficient and fun to use. For the Carpet, the robot cleans the carpet very well and very quickly. It was very through and avoided obstacles easily. The App, has a lot of great information when it comes to the robot, settings and configuration. The zones were easy to setup and the app was great to see all the available information of the robot. Overall the robot is really good to use and feel at a great price point (as of this review). I would strongly recommend this product.

Have an Australian shepherd and it still keeps the floors clean! Kind of loud and squeaks occasionally after only a month of use. Takes a little over an hour to clean my small first floor. The docking station holds a lot of debris! Amazed I don’t have to change the bags often. Mapping/execution needs more work I feel like it’s inefficient in its travels and could do the job in less time. Being kind of loud like a normal vacuum you’d rather not hear it for 1.25hrs unnecessarily. Overall….it keeps the floors very clean every day and requires little maintenance without me lifting a finger. Very cool. Slightly overpriced.

I’m giving this a 4 star because I haven’t used the mop feature yet. Set up was simple and it keeps the floors vacuumed. Gets in the corners too. Great for weekly upkeep but not for deep cleaning. Crosses thresholds just fine. I use mine for hardwoods and tile. I bought 2 because they were on sale for $230.

This product is quite outstanding! I admit I was frustrated at first and almost ready to return it when I tried to fire it up on Christmas Day and getting it working but I figured the backend online services were having an issue. After resetting it for the fourth time I decided to wait until December 28th to activate it again and this time, everything worked like a charm and it has been really good every since. The automapping feature, taking pictures of objects, and alerting you through the app is quite nice! This is a solid product, especially with pets, and overall, I am happy I finally took the plunge and decided to have some automated help around the house.

I like this machine, but getting it to map my house has been complicated. I’ve moved furniture so that helps, but to get a really good clean you need to plan ahead. Pick up everything from the floor. Put chairs on the table. Keep lights on in your house. The robot has trouble docking, especially when it completes a full cleaning schedule. You have to keep both the base and the robot clean. Wipe off any dust. Make sure it sets snug against a wall so the base can’t move when it’s docking. However, it has picked up stuff from under baseboards that must have been stuck under there from the previous owners. It’s loud when emptying the bin so make sure you set the schedule when you’re not home and especially when you’re not sleeping. It will pick up large items, and when it does, it will damage the roller. Do a walk-thru before it runs a schedule. My floors get dirty so I’ve got it on a 3-days per week schedule. I do love that it really keeps pet hair picked up. Just watch large items.

I am very happy to have purchased the self-emptying roomba. It does a great job of mapping and vacuuming our house. It does have errors that I can see through the app but no guidance on how to fix them which is frustrating. About 50% of the time it roams and cleans, returns to base and charges/empties, then returns to cleaning. The other 50% of the time it dies somewhere in the house and I have to pick it up and return it to the base.

We have pet and it helps me tremendously in cleaning the house. It was easy to navigate by using the app. It has automatic scheduling that you can set and the places to clean and which to avoid. It has a camera that helps detects obstructions to avoid. It will tell you if the bin needs to be replaced. I can't be happier with this purchase. Having a dog and kids around the house this is heaven sent

Best botvac yet. We've had 4 botvac's in the past 7 years. This is our first iRobot brand and now I see why they charge more than everyone else. Compared to the others, it's simply amazing. We have 3 cats and in the 2 years we've been using the j7+ it's only found one pile of cat puke. All others it has avoided thanks to the camera & software. The filter & brushes last longer with this model as well. If you use an air compressor to blow out the filter it'll last 3 times as long. The dock is by far the best part. It parks itself, dumps the contents that it's picked up on the last run and charges. When done charging, it goes back to where it left off and finishes it's job. This botvac's system maps your house and allows you to create keep out zones, cleaning schedules and allows you to name each room. You can tell the system 'go clean the kitchen' and it'll do it and return to base. The only complaint I have so far is it's difficult to draw lines separating rooms. You have to do all the initial set up, scheduling, etc... on the app. It would be easier for some people if we could do it on a computer using a mouse instead of a little touch screen on our phone.

I use this daily and have two dogs and a child so it’s a life saver! The only con I have is it’s really loud especially when it’s emptying itself. Otherwise this item works fantastic so long as you upkeep on maintenance every couple months or so and order replacements when needed

Absolutely love it! Our home has 2 adults, 3 kids , a dog and a cat along with hardwood floors. The j7 plus keeps up with no problem! The mapping and clean zones is a great feature. It avoids any debris on the floors from the kids and pets, empties itself and keeps going. The bag only lasts about a month at my home due to high traffic and daily cleaning runs. This saves us the daily task or floor cleaning and only have weekly manual cleaning.

The Good: It vacuums very well thus far. The app is very cool, mapping works well and schedules seem to work as intended. The Bad: The emptying process into the charging station is LOUD. It only lasts a few seconds, but it's a loud few seconds.

Love my IRobot RJ7 it has made my life a lot easier when cleaning. This vacuum cleans better than my shark upright vacuum. I love that I don’t have to vacuum with my upright but once in a month. I can’t get over how well this vacuum works. I have it scheduled to clean different times of the day for different parts of the house. We call it RJ7 and it works every day, this is a life saver for my back. The app is easy to use and tells you when to clean the filters and change out parts. I’m in Love ❤️❤️❤️

when it works right its great but the device appears to be quite finicky. It frequently fails to clean the entire room and often returns to the base with an error message. At times, it does not return to the base correctly, and even when it does, it occasionally fails to charge properly. As a result, it may run out of battery and remain inactive for an entire day.

Love this little guy. Cleans like a dream. Mapped my house very well, and learns when new items are added or taken away. It can run on a schedule, it can run randomly and it can run in just a certain area if you want. Highly recommend. Also to mention i have 4 cats and this gets all the hair!
