While my family did not share my enthusiasm, being the one who did the research and testing, I found this to be an amazing home security system and would highly recommend.

System was easy to set up. 901Mhz has great reach through old house with many walls and floors. Volume on siren is low though - got multiples due to floors.

    So so, false alarms.

    |

False alarms, going off and back online to many times. Sometimes multiple times in the same day. No I would not recommend it and I would not buy it again. I'm very disappointed with this product. If I can figure out a way to return it I will!

    Some downfalls to alarm

    |
    Posted .

This is a good alarm for very minimum monitoring. Siren is not very loud. Getting the alarm to work was a 2 week process with their customer service. The camera is probably the best feature in this. Motion detection picked up my cat so my alarm was always going off even though I had it installed 6 1/2 feet off the ground. Door censors are a nice feature though.

    Consider Samsung SmartThings instead

    |

While the iSmartAlarm system was functional, the biggest issue I had with it was that there are almost no devices that work with it other than the few that were in the Premier bundle. I ended up returning it and buying the Samsung SmartThings bundle instead. The iSmartAlarm is OK if all you want are door/window sensors and an alarm (not very loud). The Samsung SmartThings give you all that plus lets you control lights, various Wifi thermostats, a Wifi deadbolt and a growing list of IoT products made by several different manufacturers (ex. Nest, Honeywell, Cree, GE, etc.). I would sum up the iSmartAlarm as a "dead-end" product.

    No really impressed

Thought this would be a good option for a stand alone security system, its really just ok. Set up was easy although 2 of the sensors already had nearly dead batteries. The alarm isn't loud enough to even be heard outside of the house. The app functions well and if you are a control freak and want a message every time a door or window is opened, this will send you a notification for every event. I might end up loving the system, but after 2 days installed, I'm not that impressed.

    Mediocre at Best

    Posted .

I wanted to like this thing, I just couldn't. From the moment I opened the box and pulled out the base station and heard some unknown pieces parts jingling around inside it, I knew the build quality was going to be poor...and it was. The whole thing feels like it was made in someone's garage. When the spot cam turns on, some chinese characters show up, when ismart calls some smoker voiced bro speaks, the app feels like it was made and released in an hour, the door open/close chime sounds like a 7-eleven and it cannot be changed. It just isn't very polished or reliable. Often I'd set it to arm when I left for work only to find when I returned, the app would still show disarmed. I gave this thing a go but in the end couldn't wait to return it. I moved on to a smart device hub as they are more versatile and can perform security duties.

    Highly Disappointed

I purchased this device after researching multiple devices and found this one would work best. After installing the camera and the security system, I began to have issues with the security system. The main module (Cubeone) would not update firmware right out of the box. After multiple attempts of contacting customer service for iSmartAlarm, which most were very delayed responses, which did not help. The company eventually told me, after a week of emails trying to fix the device, that they had knowledge of issues with my service provider and their system and there was nothing they could do for me. The camera system worked fantastic however. I was very disappointed in this item and reluctantly returned it.

Poor software funcionalities and area restricted

    Posted .

I bought the system to use in Brazil. For my surprise, it does not work here just because you must have a US phone number to activate it. If you just use one time a US number, you can activate it and it keep working normally. So, what´s the point of that restriction ? Well, other thing that bothers me is the poor funcionalities on the software. It cant silence just one door sensor, for instance, or can set up the sensors actions differently.
