A Thoroughly Excellent Stephen King Adaptation

As a fan of Stephen King's books for more than thirty years,I had high expectations for this,an adaptation of his 1986 best-seller,and I certainly wasn't disappointed. This is a top-class production,of the highest quality. The young cast who portray the members of the so-called 'Losers' Club',who are haunted by Pennywise The Clown,(a terrifyingly evil Bill Skarsgard),are all excellent in their roles,as is Skarsgard himself. The film even manages to surpass the 1990 TV miniseries.I very much look forward to the movie sequel, due in 2019.I very much hope that that will prove to be as good as this. Thoroughly excellent.

This was a great movie. It was a lot better than what I thought it was going to be. There were parts that had me jumping for sure. I still prefer the original, as I like Tim Curry as an Actor, but this was a good follow-up in a remake version. Bill Skarsgård absolutely NAILED Pennywise!! I was blown away. He really captured the character in a brand new and terrifying way. I am looking forward to the sequel and hope it is just as well done. Anyone who is a fan of the horror genre should see it, and anyone who is simply curious should see it, because not only is it good as an adaptation and good as horror, it is also just a genuinely good movie.

This was a fun film to enjoy. The acting is on par with most children led acting teams, some do great, some over act, some are just too inexperienced to hold the film themselves. Together, the kids in this film do well as a unit and make it a fun and entertaining film. Pennywise of course is the center of the suspense of this film and drives the story. Together, this film becomes a beautifully entertaining combination of adventure and horror. Tie in the 4k video and enhanced sound, this film is pure fun. For those interested, this is not kid friendly like the made for TV version of the 90s.

This steelbook has a great design. I got this in part because I already had Chapter 2 steelbook from a gift and I saw this one available, but honestly I'm happy to have this regardless because the art on it is very nice. This does not include a blu-ray disc! Only UHD and a digital copy paper slip. It feels unusual to not have a blu-ray included, but I shouldn't lament as long as they don't start leaving out digital slips as well. And I'll keep wrinkling my face in confusion when new blu-ray releases have DVDs included.

Nowadays, reboots of a classic movie or franchise are pretty common these days. Some manage to captivate a audience in the same manor as the original. While others fail to meet the expectations of its predecessor. However, in this reboot of a Stephen King classic. IT delivers on all aspects of what the original version brought to the forefront and then some. This modern day version will send chills down your spine, may cause you to jump out of your seat or even cause you to cover your face from the creepy detail and delivery of Pennywise.

I thought this was going to be a little kids movie if you watch it with little kids the are not going to sleep very well for a couple day's. its weird but watching it with good surround sound a little cranked really was part of what kept me on the edge of my seat lots of subwoofer affects in this one. as far as picture 4K blue ray is awesome- detail -color -dark scenes-great with a OLED . you kind of get used to it during the movie but when I go back to my Dish which looked great before watching the 4K show in comparison not so great.

I admit, I was a tad hesitant on wanting to see another horror remake... but, man I'm glad I took the chance. Wow, what a solid movie, and genuinely scary, too. Also, wasn't too sure about a relatively unknown actor taking on the role of Pennywise the Dancing Clown. Especially from such an amazing actor, like Tim Curry but, once again, I was wrong. Skarsgard nailed it! Can't recommend this movie enough for true fans of horror, and just plain well-made movies. Can't wait for Chapter 2!

Hardly ever is a movie better than the book, but It is an exception that to the rule. Loaded with a stellar cast of child actors, the film is truly amazing. Capturing the friendships of the characters with the ‘80s aesthetic and a truly terrifying performance for Pennywise. Seeing this film on 4K is absolutely the way to experience this film. The black levels are gorgeous and the Dolby Atmos soundmix really puts you into the danger and suspense of the characters. The special features are fairly in-depth and you get a free digital redemption code.

This is a great Steelbook. Awesome cover art and the inside picture is nice as well. The picture quality is amazing. I'd have to say it is one of the better looking UHD movies that I own. I was surprised with how awesome the picture is. The sound is great too. I picked this up on sale for Halloween, and it was worth every penny. The one gripe I have, is that it doesn't come with a blu ray copy with the special features like usual. Just the UHD disc and the digital code. Other than that, it's a great edition to my collection.

Very high quality DVD. I really like "It" so I figured this would be a good time to buy the Blu ray since it came with movie cash which I used to see "It Chapter 2." So basically I got to see the movie for free. I know nowadays you don't really need to buy DVD'S anymore since everything is digital but I like all the extras you get on DVD'S. I used to buy DVD'S all the time but now I like to pick only the ones that I really like and come with something extra like this.

It's about a group of misfit kids in Maine, and their encounter with bullies and a truly frightening monster that calls itself Pennywise the Dancing Clown. This creature (It) only comes out every 27 years! There are some truly shocking moments throughout the film that will definitely grab your attention. I watched the original miniseries that starred Tim Curry that came out years ago. I thought that version was creepy but this one is much creepier! A must see!

This film is just so well made. It keeps you hooked every second. This film simply put is a masterpiece. I love the way the story flows. I am a big fan of the original film, but they really improved on this one. The design of Pennywise was amazing. The costume designers and make-up artists outdid themselves here. If you are thinking twice about getting this film or even watching it. I have to tell you, watch it! It'll be worth it.

I'm a big Stephen King fan so I usually will buy his movies (in blu-ray) when they become available. I read his book some time ago, but somehow when this movie came out, it slipped right by me. Best Buy was offering a deal back in November, so I made several blu-ray purchases, including this one. Not everybody likes King's movies, but this is my review, not theirs. I have since bought It Chapter 2 as well.

Really enjoyed this movie. I loved how the town and the people in it are often just as dangerous as the monster. Even when the characters manage to dodge Pennywise, there are still other threats waiting for them (abuse, racism, bullies, apathy, anxiety, etc.). It makes the whole movie engaging and tense. Some scenes use CGI and it can be a little distracting, but the kid actors are great together and Bill Skarsgard is incredible.

I'm not particularly scared of clowns but I do enjoy a decent monster/horror movie occasionally and this one delivered. The pacing is fantastic and the child actors do a wonderful job, which is required for this movie to succeed with how it is written completely through the view of children. I haven't watched the sequel yet but I hope it lives up to this one.

The steelbook art could have been better for the front, even if they swapped the back (SS Georgie) and front (Pennywise). The interior displays the iconic storm drain scene. Both 4k and regular blu ray discs are included along with the "Anywhere" digital copy. This movie is an instant classic and I enjoy it much better than the made for TV classic. It has a "Stranger Things" kind of vibe, even one of the actors is the same! The picture and sound quality are top notch/reference material. I can't wait for Chapter 2!

This was a must buy if you are a Stephen King fan! Especially a fan of (the Straight to Video) IT from 1990 with Tim Curry as the first Actor to portray the horror classic character Pennywise. This new remake has a more in depth background story on each of the characters from "The Losers Club" but in the 80's time period. And Bill Skarsgard impression of Pennywise brings chills and terrors. Overall performance was great! I would relate it to Stranger Things and Super 8, with a splash of horror!

I read the book when it was first published many years ago, so my memory may be a bit rusty, but this version seems to be closer to the first half of King's horrific story than the TV movie. I hope the movie of the second half will be released sooner than later because the story is incomplete as depicted here. That said; I was very impressed with everybody and everything else involved with it! THE BLU-RAY DOES NOT DISAPPOINT in any way and I consider it to be of demo / reference quality.

I liked this one. I haven't read the book, but I have seen the made-for-TV "IT" with Tim Curry, and I think this version does it justice. While Tim Curry did a better job of being a more subtly disturbing demonic clown, the guy here does decent job. The most important thing you need to know is, by the time the credits roll, it's only half the story....leaving things wide-open for a sequel. But you know what, that's ok. Cutting it into two pieces will allow them to find quality actors to play the grown-up versions of the kids once they return to fight "IT" again. We shall see.

I have to say this is one of the few remakes I actually enjoyed! The original was interesting, cheesy, and honestly more comical rather than scary. What I loved about this remake was the fact that it was more intense, less comical, and more disturbing. This film focuses more on the kids rather than jumping back and forth in the timelines as the original does. A surprisingly decent horror film.
