Keep this in mind but this can be a pretty good docking station regardless. But I'm too concerned about this thing burning itself to death in about a year

I spent an entire night troubleshooting what might be wrong with my laptop setup, not once considering that the new mini dock I just bought was simply garbage. I bought this as an upgrade to another dock to be able to use displayport, which at first worked fine, along with the ethernet connection. However as soon as I connected my USB devices (razer gaming mouse, keyboard, speakers), all hell broke loose. All of my devices would randomly lock up and stop working intermittently with windows making it's chiming new device sound repeatedly. At first I thought it was a synapse issue so I did a reinstall of that, and everything else I could think of before realizing that the mini dock was sporadically showing an exclamation mark in device manager. It was also causing weird battery charge errors even though I had the charger connected directly to the laptop. At one point my monitor even started spazzing out and showing static, so it dawned on me that "hey, I there's nothing wrong with my PC. I simply bought a trash mini dock." I disconnected everything and reconnected through my old dock and haven't had a single issue.

Not worth the cost

When it is working correctly its great, but when its acting up its frustrating at best.
