Only one monitor would connect, no matter what I tried. I was using a new, high the gaming laptop from MSI that ran Windows 11. The heat this docking unit generated when connected to the thunderbolt port on my laptop was rediculous. I seriously thought it was going to melt and cause a fire it got so hot. I stuffed up returning it and got a powered thunderbolt docking station that actually does work and can display 4 external monitors.

Posted .This dock requires a DisplayPort v1.4 Alt Mode-enabled port that supports Multi-Stream Transport (MST) in order to output to dual or triple displays. Some laptops, even high-performance models, may have USB-C or Thunderbolt ports that don’t support MST for multiple external displays, which could explain why only one monitor was detected.
As for the heat you noticed, the dock can become warm during high data or display output due to its compact aluminum design, which naturally dissipates heat.

Does not work for Mac with more than one display

This is in the fine print on j5create's webpage: "When using extended mode on Mac, all connected displays will show the same content." Indeed, this was my experience. The most annoying part about this is that this is a pretty big dealbreaker--why not put that on the cover of the package instead of having the buyer struggle through and spend an hour troubleshooting? What is the value of having users buy a product that obviously won't work for their situation (use a Mac...)?

Posted .The 4K60 Elite USB-C Triple-Monitor 10Gbps Mini Dock requires Multi-Stream Transport (MST) to achieve triple-monitor configuration. The MST protocol is not currently supported by macOS. The display output is limited to mirrored mode when connected.

Tried to watch a HD 1080p movie I bought from iTunes but I think iTunes detected it as a pirate device and pixelated the movie - sound was okay. Had to disconnect and reconnect this adapter after every restart, not very ideal.
