You can purchase it separate from the dock if you don’t need it. However this dual HDMI setup doesn’t work with Macs if you want extended screens. It only supports mirroring on macs, which can be pointless for some people. It’s not supported due to the hardware. And even on windows, the display resolution is significantly decreased when extending the monitors.

I wanted to return it, but BestBuy only gives you 14 days so it's too late. I'll have to try to convince my supervisor to let me purchase something else despite being unable to get a refund.
