Plugged ethernet into this adapter, then plugged the adapter into the usb on my desktop and got internet connection. Did not see a decrease in speed from when the connection was directly to the ethernet port. Very happy!

Best quality and performance on the market for the cost. This adaptor is a MUST-HAVE if you have no ethernet port on your computer or data device. This adaptor gives me 4 to 5 times the speed of wifi on my USB port. The device is rugged, reliable, and maintenance free.... It looks good too... No need to plug-in drivers if you have fairly new equipment; this is a real hassle saver.

Does its job when you don't have a Ethernet port

His laptop doesn't have a ethernet port I had bought this and tested it and worked great. I did a windows system restore point and fixed it and paused windows updates for 30 days and forgot to go back in and extend it close to the end of the 30 day pause. last night the same update reinstalled and corrupted the Wi-Fi drivers again and just plugged this adapter back in to get him back online and all worked great being I didn't have time to fix his computer at that moment.

It worked flawless, even managed to get the correct drivers loaded afterwards making this item no longer needed lol. Keeping anyways just in case, no regrets.

Nice for adding a wired NIC port to ultrabooks or Windows-based tablets with a USB port. You do need to have a USB 3.0 port to get full 1Gbps speeds. Will work with USB 1.1/2.0 ports, but you will be limited to about 480Mbps for USB 2.0 and 12Mbps for USB 1.1 FYI. Nice metal construction makes it durable. It also works with Mac computer as well.
