Long story short: Ethernet connection on motherboard quit working. I needed an easy solution to problem. I could either get an Ethernet card or a USB Ethernet connector. I bought this. Really simple to install. Insert installation CD in optical drive, follow instructions, plug device into a free USB port, done! I do recommend going to the companies website for update after install. Works perfectly. Best $20 I ever spent.

I bought this to aid in data transfer from my old MacBook Pro to my new MacBook. The new MacBook only has a USB-C port and a headphones port so I had to connect this device to a USB 3.0 to USB-C device in order to connect the Ethernet port of the MacBook Pro and transfer over my profile and stored data since it's faster than over wifi. For this scenario especially this device is highly recommended.

It worked immediately on pluging in ethernet cable and connecting to a usb hub. No set up time and a very cost effective solution to getting the laptop to the nearly 500 mbps download/upload speed my internet service provides

Works splending with my Nintendo Switch. Easy instructions to bring up to date. After updating it is plug and play!!! Bought two for both Switch docks in my home!!! Even with low speeds you can really feel the difference! My speed is 10Mbps and hardly ever lags playing online.

Worked great on my travel MacBook Pro for IT support work. You do need to install the driver from their website. FYI It worked for a bit initially without any drivers (like most of these devices) but then stopped suddenly. Resolved by installing their updated drivers (likely due to a Mac OS update).

My new laptop doesn't have a network port so I was stuck using wifi. At times wifi is unpredictable and I prefer a hardline. This works perfectly! When I saw an install cd I was dreading dealing with it but I didn't need it. Plugged it into my USB on my computer and my Ethernet port on my router and I was good to go. I couldn't be more pleased with my puchase.

The previous Belkin adapter that I purchased did not work with macOS Sierra so I had to buy a new one. This adapter works perfectly with macOS 10.12. I just downloaded and installed the drivers, rebooted, and plugged it in; that was it. I can get wirespeed throughput and it even works great through a USB 3.0 hub. The adapter looks good with my rMBP too.

Works as intended as an alternative way to connect to the Ethernet connection.

I recently stayed at a small college for a conference. The college recommended using their Ethernet network in the dorm rooms rather than their wi-fi network for security. My Microsoft Surface laptop does not have a built-in RJ45 port, so I bought the J5Create Gigabit Ethernet adapter and a 14-ft Ethernet cable (CAT6). I followed the (easy) installation instructions that came with the adapter, and it worked like a charm. Provided gigabit Internet connectivity. No problems whatsoever, and I had the peace of mind that Ethernet gives me while at the conference.

Product is great and works exactly as advertised. There is no difference between using this and using the regular plug.

Well...it actually turned out to be the wrong item for what I was looking for... (needed ethernet to type c, that'll teach me to read the labels lol) But! The j5create customer service team is one of the finest I've encountered. Diana, the employee who helped me out that day, recommended the brand to me, saying it was generally better quality; though I never actually got to test that out, I'm gonna guess she was right on that one!

good product, I had my network out look not working for some reason, so I had to use that instead, and it worked like a charm... not lagging, nothing.
