||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let me state that this cable does exactly what I wanted, allowing me to connect my phone to thumb drives as well as using it to download files to a Nook. However, my journey to this satisfaction was almost derailed by the gentleman in the AT&T phone department. I asked him about connecting a thumb drive to my phone, and he insisted that I needed to buy a special thumbdrive with the proper mini-USB connector, I asked about adaptor cables and he insisted that none existed. Upon searching the accessories rack, lo and behold, a cable on a card specifically advertising the ability to connect a USB thumbdrive to an LG5 phone.

Adding this cable made it adaptable to the older USB devices. I have the dongle connected there for the wireless mouse. Its only about 6 inches long so doesn't pose a problem when we carry the laptop to another location in a case. Makes the Laptop more versatile if you use say an addon disc drive and a portable hard drive simultaneously as the cable lets you connect the mouse to that port . Nice accessory
