I have owned this for a while, and it has spent most of it's life in the drawer. At first it seemed useful, but all ports are limited in some way. Mostly last-gen or older specs on all ports especially power pass-through. If you are ok with that, then this product is for you. Also does not work with android. But if you are like me, this thing will get relegated to the junk drawer. So I would suggest shopping for something full featured.

Posted .The JCD381 requires an installation of a driver and is only compatible with Windows and Mac computers. Will not with Android or IOS. USB-C power-in port allows pass-through charge. However, computers must support "Power Delivery" over USB-C. If you have any questions, please contact our Support Team by Live Chat or a Support Ticket. Allows for Two HD Screens

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had initially purchased the USB 3.0 Mini Docking Station from J5create but that docking station only had one HD input in an HDMI port which caused one screen to be HD and the other SD and really messed with my eyes. Found this USB Type-C Dual HDMI Mini Docking Station also from J5create and it solved the issue by allowing for two HD screens to be used. NOTE: Make sure your laptop has USB Type-C ports which can also be called USB Type-C Lightning Ports on a Mac. The Dual Screen function works on my Dell work laptop, but haven't quite figured out how to make it work on my Macbook just yet.

It is great to hear that you have found the right docking station for your needs. To get the full functionality out of this docking station you will need to plug it into a USB-C port that supports Display Port Alternate Mode. Your computer’s documentation can tell you if your USB-C ports support this feature.

Decent little HDMI hub, but not for Mac OS

Currently will not support most current Mac OS (Big Sur) Hopefully a patch is coming soon. It does work great for my PC though!

Because it uses DisplayLink, I just made sure the DisplayLink app was installed from the Microsoft app store and it all worked right away. Nice, slim design with plenty of ports (INCLUDING DUAL HDMI) for most user types.

This resolves that. However it does run very hot which leads me to believe it is likely a battery drainer, however I have not needed to use it for an extended enough period of time to verify that empirically. The heat is coming from somewhere though, and I'd be pretty certain it's causing excess drain on the battery because of it. I would seek other options.

Posted .In regards to the warm feel; this is normal as electricity is running through the hub. If it gets to the point where the dock is harming you, please contact the support team as it could be defective. The JCD383 is covered under a manufacturer's two year warranty and an agent will gladly exchange it for you.

I think those work better, but this solution is not bad and usually much less expensive.

Only issue is that for computers older than 2 years you need a mini-USB adapter which was not available in the store, or any store. Had to order on Amazon.
