Only issue, which prevented the 5 star rating, is when laptop comes out of sleep mode, the external monitor requires the hdmi connection to be disconnected and reconnected, to be usable.

No disk, just a download from a website and you’re good to go. Your computer’s charger goes into this thing so it’s one less port your computer takes. I use a midi controller through this and the response is great. Zero latency. Very happy with my decision and this product.

Also allows for connection of other devices like CD/DVD player. Convenient but pricey item.

A dock is a good addition to any laptop. Laptops are not manufactured with all of the ports that you need now days. I understand the frustration of having to purchase an additional device to get all of your peripherals connected to your laptop. Thank you for providing your feedback.

Exactly what I needed for my new laptop

I traded the Lenovo in for an HP Spectre x360 and I'm able to use this adapter to charge the laptop, project/extend the display, and it adds two USB 3.0 ports. Exactly what I needed.

With one connection you get multiple USB3 (a style) ports, a Ethernet port, and a HDMI port for a second monitor. It also has a USB C power input so you can plug your Mac PSU right in and not lose a port. This makes for a very handy desktop dock or it can be thrown in the bag and taken on the go.

A microphone so I could do a pod cast. I bought a cheap 8 dollar jack that did not work at all, and after some research realized a microphone will require more power than the iPad Pro can produce. I picked this up at my Maplewood Best Buy and was pleasantly surprised to find that not only could I run my powered Blue Yeti Microphone but... could also add my keyboard or a camera at the same time. My only real complaint is that it could use more ports but that is not to detract from the quality. It is made of aluminum and it actually looks like it was made for my iPad. Have gotten some looks and questions from other iPad users and their comments are all very positive. I recommend this for anyone wishing to use USBC to power a hub to attach to any tablet or computer.

I will say that you will have to visit the j5create website to download the driver to utilize it for use. Other than that it works like a champ for the economic price that you pay! Grabbed this because it was in stock and cheaper than expected and it has worked perfectly. At any given time, I have ethernet and at least one external hard drive attached to my Surface through this hub and it hasn't faltered at all.

My daughter can just plug in the USB C port and the display is on the monitor. Adaptor also has ethernet, an automatic backup hard drive and a wireless logitech mouse and keyboard connected to it. All of them work fine. I have a 3 foot extension cord on it so it doesn't have to be next to the laptop and this works great also.
