Had to upgrade as my devices, Computer, Cell Phone, Projector, Ipad etc. were upgraded, so does my multi-port.

My wife uses it to connect a MIDI keyboard to Garageband on her iPad and it works very well. She really likes the power passthrough so she can charge and tinker.

So I used this hub on another port and now those two peripherals work. I am very pleased. It's also relatively small/nonbulky.

I was constantly turning my large computer around to place usb into the back slots. This lets me add usb to see my designs right in front of my computer
