That "other" store sells similar products even this same one a little bit cheaper. In any case, this cable works as promised. It basically "mirrors" what is on your phone's screen. Once a movie is playing it switches it to match the TV size. But phone screen mirroring, then it keeps the screen in portrait with black bars on either side. I am assuming that this is how they do video screen captures on some of those YouTube videos. There is no way to turn off my phone's screen while it is mirroring on a TV monitor (so I had to turn my screen side down), If watching a movie, the phone screen stays on and therefore will make your phone (and cord) hot. So be careful on long movies. Cord does not charge your phone when screen mirroring. And in order to get really good HD quality for broadcasts on your TV monitor, your phone's image quality needs to be amped up to its highest HD setting (mine is WQHD+) then it will come across as 1080p. Otherwise, it'll be more like 720p even 480p. Overall this cord is awesome.

I don't have a smart tv and I'm too lazy to figure out chromecast or any of that. This cord was purchased to connect my Samsung Galaxy S8 to a 42" Phillips tv. Connection is good, not much lag, sound is good, only issues are that 1) it doesn't charge my phone when plugged into the tv (minus 1 star) and 2) it overheats my phone which drains the battery faster (minus another star)

I bought this because I've had a recurring issue with my Macbook where the screen blacks-out and is non-resolvable without sending it in to get fixed. After triple-tapping the power button to enable voiceover on my Mac--so that I can enter my username and password without seeing the screen--I needed to back my computer up and was desperate for a resolution, so I bought this and plugged it into the tv, which not only displayed on my television but fixed the continual screen issue, so that I can see and back up my documents, at least, and send in my computer without losing all of my data this time! This is also handy for watching movies that I can't transfer from one of my television's movie apps to the other; plug and play. Nice investment!

Works great. This allows me to watch NFL+ games that can't be cast on a TV. Picture is not full screen, but much larger than the tablet. Sharp, clear images. The cable is long enough to make connection easy.

A very useful wire. Since it's HDMI to Type-C, you can connect it to any phones and tablets. It also supports 4K, so the output from the wire to the TV is great. The wire is solid quality and has amazing performance. I would recommend anyone to buy!

I went in looking for an HDMI adapter and a separate cable but the BBG (Best Buy guy) showed me this instead. I'm really happy with this dedicated j5 cable. It's much better than separates. And the 6" length is perfect. No issue with lost transmission at that length. It's has worked perfectly so far. I'm checking out other j5 products now since I'm pretty impressed with the quality. I had never heard of them before. How excited can you get about cables!? Must be the coffee! ; )

No pixelation issues connectivity or anything that would make it difficult I watch movie on a 27" Monitor connected to my MacBook and have no issues with 4K quality either.
