I have been staying at a hotel due to business related reasons, and it has helped me both to maximize my screen from my laptop, and at times multi screen my laptop as well. During weekends I am able to connect my phone to watch YouTube videos on a bigger screen and enjoy my music with a louder speaker.

Almost 2 months later, works really well and is pretty much plug and play. For my application you will need to play around with your phone to get it dialed in.

It is good to hear that the cable is meeting your needs. As for the sound delay I would suggest checking if there are any apps that are running in the background taking up resources from your phone.
