But don't waste money buying new USB -c peripherals. Just get yourself this handy adaptor and all yoru plug and play options will work- flash drives, peripherals, whatever. Four stars! Check it out!

I knew what I was looking for but didn't find it in the areas of the store I was looking. Fortunately when I described what I needed to associate he was able to direct me to this product and several other options. I decided to not leave this new found toy at my parents home but take it with me just in case this same up again working remotely even from my home office.

This frees up the remaining USB-c port

Couldn't get good HDMI with this adaptor

Unfortunately, I did not realize the adaptor lacked an Ethernet Jack, so I had to use Wi-Fi. I purchased the laptop so that I could give lectures requiring Powerpoint where a laptop had to connect through HDMI to a projector. Although I tested the laptop and this adapter with my home TV before I was to give my first lecture and it worked fine, I found that the adapter did not work with the HDMI cable at the classroom, so I had to borrow someone's laptop that had a built-in HDMI port. I really don't know if the issue was the HP laptop or this adaptor. Its other ports work fine.

Posted .The HDMI port works off a feature called "DisplayPort Mode" for video out over USB-C via computer. Please make sure the input source on a TV/monitor or projector is correct.
