Seriously I spent all day trying to get my apple MacBook Pro connected to three screens. Was told mutilple times that it could not happen. This made it happen. I used three different connections and it worked great!!!!

I am completely satisfied with this docking station. It has all the connections that I need and then some. They are all in line which makes for a neat routing of cables and wires. As a plus, my computer sits on the station providing a little lift from flatness.

This docking station is exactly what I needed. It has all the necessary ports and is perfectly designed—big enough to handle everything I need plugged in, but small enough to be tucked away when I want a clean workspace. Despite its compact size, all the ports are easily accessible. Plus, the sleek, professional design makes it look great on my desk. Overall, it's a high-quality product that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a dependable docking station.

Apple MacBooks with M1 processors don't natively support more than 1 external display. This docking station was able to bypass that limitation with some smart software. For context, I am running a MacBook Pro 13" with M1 processor, on MacOS Monterey. When setting up the dock, I highly recommend following the included manual because it will not work with multiple displays without installing a driver, which the manual guides you through. The technical way this is working is because it emulates a USB display, and the primary display goes straight through HDMI/DisplayPort. Some things to note: This dock has ports for 4 displays, however it will only do 3 maximum, one of the "ports" gives you the choice between DisplayPort or HDMI, but only one of those can be used at a time.

Dock works great. Currently have it hooked to a Legion Laptop running it off the thunderbolt port. Handles 2 monitors and multiple USB inputs easily. This works great to be able to take the laptop off the dock unplug just the USB C cable and power cable for the laptop and take it anywhere without hassle.

It does the job, when I need it to work it’s reliable. That being said is this the best product on the market? I don’t think so, sometimes it has connection issues when I first plug in my laptop and I have to un plug and re plug it once or twice to get both monitors to work. Also the charger sometimes doesn’t work for my laptop when the laptop is dead it does some strange start charging then stop charging and so on. Two things that are minor since the other 99% of the time I’m using it it’s working fine.

Great product, easy to install and works great! I used it to set up a 2 screen setup for my Desktop PC.

Bought this to allow me to hook up my laptop to my large screen monitor (TV) that I used with my desktop that finally said "BYE BYE". A lot of ports for connectivity which allows me to plug in my USB mouse, keyboard, and 1 TB external HD. Allows pass through of HDMI, but only at 30 frames, so a little lacking there. Also passes through power through the USB-C connector so you can charge your device, if the device is capable of charging through USB-C. (Not Thunderbolt compatible). Biggest drawback is this one did not come with a power supply, so I had to purchase a USB-C charger to plug this into. They have units that come with a power supply, however Best Buy near me didn't have one, so I bought this unit and a separate power brick (another j5 device) from another retailer locally and got it to do what I needed. For the money, I would to have liked to see higher video pass through for the HDMI outputs (at least one of the three). Other than that, it works like it should, and allows me to put the laptop into my main home setup by just connecting one USB-C cable and reduce the clutter of cables and devices going to my laptop.

I had purchased a new MacBook Air 15" with the M2 chip. I did all the research to make sure this laptop was going to work for me and once I determined this would do it... I pulled the trigger. Took it home and plugged it in to my dual external monitors only to find myself disappointed. Though my old laptop was capable of supporting dual external monitors, the new Apple M2 was only capable of supporting one external monitor. I missed that piece of information and was desperate to find a way to make it work with my old setup. I tried a couple of different display link adapters only to find that they would only support screen mirroring. I stumbled across this docking station that was mentioned in a couple of forums and the main complaint I read was that some people could not make it work, even after following all of the instructions. I decided to chance it and I went in to my local store to buy this item. Upon opening the package I found a sticker that stated I need to download the drivers prior to plugging in the unit to my laptop. Very clear instruction. I went to the website and downloaded the Mac driver and followed the instructions word for word. After a few simple steps, I plugged in my monitors to the unit and then connected it to one of the USB ports... and everything worked great. The key is to follow the instructions word for word. I now have two external monitors working independently as well as the native monitor that is part of the laptop, giving me three total monitors. I have had every port hooked up and everything works flawlessly. I would recommend this to anyone looking to add additional monitors to your MacBook setup.

I have used this docking station for several computers and it is very practical since it has all the different types of connections needed.

This docking station is amazing! I needed one to support dual monitors, my laptop, printer, keyboard and mouse. This one is fast and able to support all devices and it will even support 3rd monitor if needed. Please be cautious looking for docking station, many say they will support and will not. Not enough power when connecting charger to docking station

Made this purchase for a Surface Book 2. Wanted to be able to connect with ethernet, 2 HDMI monitors and a wireless mouse/keyboard combination. It is able to do that and more. I was actually able to connect 2 HDMI monitors and a VGA for a total of 3 additional monitors plus the Surface Book 2 monitor. The design is sleek and and blends with the Surface Book. You can hardly tell its there. The connecting USB-C cord is long enough to give you a little mobility, but has it's own hidden compartment so there is no mess; even while in use. The 5 additional USB ports (3 - 3.0 and 2 - USB-C) allows for several peripheral connections. It is plug-n-play; so easy to get up and going. It is well worth the buy. I have no buyers remorse.

Confusing at first but works out like a charm afterwards. I currently work from home and had adapters for DVI ports. I've tried several times and didn't work out after reaching out to j5 create it works fine. Here are some things you would need to know before buying this. 1. Prefers direct connections, so if you have an adapter ex: vga to DVI, it doesn't work. Direct connections work. 2. Install the driver for j5 Create 3. Restart your computer 4. Remember after you restart your computer, you MUST unplug the connecting device to your computer and re-plug it back in. 5. It should work like a charm afterwards. Tips from what I learned. 1.It does have an A/C port for power, you do not need this if you are connecting directly from your computer, it will provide the power source. 2. If you plug in the device, and it doesn't register try unplugging and plugging it back in. Sometimes the connections don't connect the first time. Good luck! Worked out well and good value for the price. You don't have to spend a lot of money to split your screens and it is portable. Great for those new computers who have very few connection ports but would still like to have access to older ports/hdmi.

If you have a laptop with a limited selection of ports -- some of Apple's recent MacBooks, for instance -- this may well be the answer you need. With some caveats. First, it's fairly big. It's much better as a docking station than as a dongle you carry around everywhere. As a docking station, it's pretty good. It has just about any port you can dream of, and some you probably never even considered. Note, however, that while it has multiple USB-A ports (USB 3.0), it has only one USB-C port (USB 3.1). And it occupies a USB-C port on the laptop. So you don't actually gain any USB-C ports. This is important -- if you look at the photos, there appear to be two USB-C ports, but one of them is the power port. And, yes, this needs to be powered for you to use all the ports. I think you can use one or two without it (depending on the power you can draw from the computer and the particular port), but to use it fully, you need a power supply. And -- THE POWER SUPPLY IS NOT INCLUDED. You'll have to pay another $40-odd dollars for a power supply. Keep that in mind when you decide whether the item is worth buying. The listed price is NOT the full price. Finally, it requires a driver to fully use, especially to use the various display ports. You can't just plug it in and use it for all its purposes; you will have to download and install the driver. These aren't real limitations. Mostly they mean that you should use it with a particular computer, and probably leave it at home when you take the computer on the road. If that is understood, you will probably find it very useful.

Works great for my ThinkPad, when transferring and plugging in my MacBook, only one of the monitors will work which is annoying I can’t transfer seamlessly. But love the design of being able to sit each laptop directly on top of the dock and acts as a cooler wedge.

This is a nice dock, but with my specific machine was not fully functional. It was a specific compatibility issue with my Dell Precision 5490 that prevented the dock from passing power to my laptop. As a result, I had to have BOTH the dock and my laptop power adapter plugged into the laptop ports (defeating the advantage of quick connect/disconnect), This isn't true with all laptops.
