    Work From Home Essential

I've been using a Jabra wired headset when working from home and wanted something that allows me to leave my desk. I've been waiting for something that will work well and can be connected to multiple devices. Jabra is working some magic here and the quality of the audio from the microphones is amazing. These have six microphones which and have even worked well in louder environments. The active noise cancellation has also worked well. As expected, they also sound great. On calls, audio has always been clear. One of the best things about these headphones is that have bluetooth multipoint. I can have it connected to my phone and laptop at the same time - listening to music on the phone and then quickly answer a call on the laptop. Pairing on Android was simple. My phone recognized the earbuds when I removed them from the case. I'm getting right around the 7 hour battery life, wearing them mostly for a full work day but keeping them in the case when not wearing them. The case seems to charge up quickly (using a charger that I already have). It does come with a wireless charging pad, but I would rather charge wired if given the option. The only complaint I have is the buttons on the earbuds. There is a bit of inconsistency with the right earbud being harder to press than the left. This is important to get right when you have to press something that is in your ear. However I find I don't need to use the on earbud controls very often so it hasn't been that much of an issue.

    wireless noise canceling earbuds

These noise canceling earbuds don't do a very good job of keeping out the ambient noise. They do keep out a bit, but they do muffle it a bit. When using Hear through mode the outside sounds come through fairly well. The Connect 5t have been updated from the older Elite 3 model and now announce connected when you put them in your ear and the Bluetooth connects to your previously paired device. It is also nice to get the announcement "Hear through" for Hear through mode and "ANC" for ANC mode. I find them very comfortable to wear. I use the medium size rubber tips that come on the earbuds, but they come with a pair of small and a pair of large if the medium doesn't fit your ears. The microphones on these are very good. Making and receiving calls with them worked great. The person I was talking too had no idea I was using earbuds unless I was outside and it was very windy. My first pair of Connect 5t earbuds had a noise problem with the left earbud. Tech support was pretty helpful and suggested that I ensure they were fully charged and update the firmware. I did that and still had the noise, so they replaced them for me. The second set were fine. I am only giving them 4 stars due to the ANC not really doing very much to block out the noise and the fact that I did have a defective pair of earbuds.

Tl;dr Overall, these sound great, block out the outside world well and broadcast my voice clearly to those I talk to. Jabra has another solid outing with their Connect 5T earbuds. The company continues to improve their active noise cancelation, both for me and those I call. I use these during a concert and was able to significantly reduce the sound pressure reaching my ears. A stadium rock concert is normally louder than a jet airplane However, these earbuds were able to reduce the outside sounds to the point that I was even able to listen to a podcast if I'd wanted to. They were also able to pick up my voice so it could be heard clearly above all the din which surrounded me. The earbuds will cancel outside noise, even if you are not playing anything through them. Jabra has added microphones on this version, which seem to have made a difference. When you are playing music through them, it is full-bodied without over emphasizing any particular frequency. While Jabra increased the driver size to 6 MM, they still don't quite pack the bass punch that standard sized over the ear headphones have. Compared to other ear buds, they sound just fine with a good balanced tone. Like their predecessors, the Connect 5T can be tweaked using Jabra's app. The app also lets you customize which button pushes will activate certain functions. Added to these buds is an auto pause feature: when you take a bud from your ear, the program is automatically paused until the bud is put back or it’s manually re-started. These come in a very compact case which can be charged with a USB C plug or wirelessly. Well I did not test battery life, the company claims they will last for seven hours with four charges available from the case. I did wear them for a little more than five hours one day and they remained comfortable throughout. When the battery started to get low, I put the earbuds in the case and they seemed to charge up very quickly. To maximize battery life, the buds can be used separately. In this way, one bud can be chargivng while the other is in an ear. With this method, the pair will effectively last forever.

Working from home is here to stay for many people, and even those like me that have hybrid jobs, virtual meetings is now more common than in person. That’s when you need a quality audio system so you don’t miss anything, and people can hear you unmistakably clear. I’ve used several headsets and never really liked any for video or audio conferences. First, it’s hard to hear the other parties when there is noisy everywhere. The neighbor’s or your own dog barking, kids playing, wife working in the kitchen or her own home office and so on. But with these Jabra in-ear headphones, all those issues are handled at once. First, the noise canceling in these headphones handles background noises, and the audio quality is one of the best for this type of headphone. I’ve used it for about 17 meetings so far and the experience has been so much better than my previous headset. Either using MS Teams or WebEx, I’ve felt immersed, and people never complained about not being able to hear what I was saying. Second, because these are in-ear headphones, it feels more natural. That’s a big plus. I tend to be self-conscious on video calls, and regular headsets don’t let you forget that you have something over your ears. That’s something that I don’t need to worry about anymore. But what impressed me the most was how well Bluetooth performed in my iPhone, iPad and Laptop. Not only the stable connectivity, but also being able to switch back and forth without pairing/unpairing was something I didn’t expect. It is very convenient. I did try music and the Sound+ app. I was not expecting much, and it didn’t impress me in that regard. I’m an audiophile and I will not count this against it. My recommendation is to use it for what it is intended. It is hard not to like it.

    Multiple Connection - GREAT Earbuds

The Jabra Connect 5t true wireless earbuds are tailored for the home environment, using a 6-mic array for crystal clear video meetings, interacting with any of the major virtual assistants (Siri, Google Assistant and Alexa), mobile phone calls, and also offers ANC or pass-through audio for maximum noise isolation or situational awareness. The highly functional Bluetooth Multipoint lets you stay connected to two devices, I tried using a laptop and then a tablet in conjunction with a smartphone. This allowed me to work on one device like the laptop and seamlessly migrate to the cellphone allowing me fast and easy mobility. Android or Windows users can access Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair for super-fast connections. The battery life is up to 7 hours for just the buds and provides up to a total of 28 hours with the Qi-certified wireless charging case (included along with 2 earbuds, 3 sets of silicon EarGels, a USB-C cable, AND a Wireless charging pad). The IP55 rated earbuds should allow for use in any normal home or office environment. The Jabra Sound+ app available online is easy to configure and use. The earbuds are quite comfortable, light, stay in the ear and can be used all day. They are well made, look great and can function independently. A hint: Make sure you take off the electric current isolating tabs from the individual earbuds or you will not get a charge to the earbuds just to the case’s battery.

    Clear Calls/Great Mic

I’ve been a big fan of Jabra dating back to the days when I used their headsets with boom microphones. They’ve kept up well with technology, continuing to provide innovative products. I’ve been using some older corded earbuds (with the mic embedded on the cord) for all my virtual meetings. The mic is average, but sometimes people can’t hear me clearly, so I have to hold it up to my mouth which is annoying & distracting. These Jabra Connect 5t’s have made all the difference! The compact in-ear design is sleek & the microphone provides very clear speech so my hands can be free to type or write during calls/meetings. I was so happy to try them out on my first call. I tested them comparing the phone mic to the earbuds, and everyone agreed that you couldn’t tell the difference & that the Jabras were crystal clear. I have a pair of Jabra Elite 4’s which are slightly smaller, but designed for active use. These Connect 5t’s are larger & not quite as snug, so I wouldn’t use them for anything active like running. Although the 5t’s are best for calls, the App includes an equalizer, so I can enjoy some music while I tune out the world (using the Active Noise Cancelling) & get some deep work in. Big plus, Jabra included a wireless charging pad. Nice touch!!

The Jabra Connect 5t Earbuds packs quite a few features you would not expect in a set of ear buds. Download and setup of the app unlocks more features not included with other ear buds in this price range. The active noise cancellation was a surprising plus that was part of the features and works quite adequately. Flat audio is standard without the app, BUT if you download the app, you can choose preset equalization settings, or you can fine tune equalization to your taste. Also within the app, you can choose white noise, or soothing and relaxing noise, which I find nice to use when I just want to wind down. The comfort level the Jabra Connect 5t Earbuds is very nice, out of the box I found I could wear these for hours without feeling discomfort. I actually at times forget that I have the Jabra Connect 5t Earbuds in my ear. At times, in the office, I just have them in and turn on Active Noise Cancellation on to focus on work and tune out distractions. The Jabra Connect 5t Earbuds is a nice set of ear buds that comes packed with additional features the the Jabra Sound+ app. It can be charged two ways direct USB-C or the wireless Qi charging pad(included).

    Good Small size-sound quality-fit ok

Good sound quality Good small size Fit and Snug not great Controls work well and easy Charges well, pad is good. The earbuds were easy to sync up to my phone/iPad and connection worked well. I did not fully drain the battery and fully recharge for a true battery life test. But they have not run out on me after several days use (not non-stop though) In the box is: Headset (2 buds), charging case, usb c cable (only no plug), 3 sets of gels for size adjustment, wireless charging pad The sound quality is good but not great. They have active noise cancelling so you can hear ambient sounds or block them out. They work in mono or stereo so you can use a single earbud only if you want or as a pair like normal. I really like the single option for calls etc. when I in an office or anything and still need to hear others. I do not like to use the ambient sound for outside conversations (personal preference) The wireless charging pad is a cool feature; you don't have to worry about damaging the charging port plugging in. A wall block would be a nice feature but not included/required as I am usually looking for one. The negative; they do not fit well in my ears even w/ the other gels. Positive; the touch controls are easy to use and actually have a button vs just touch. The just touch controls usually cause incorrect functions by hitting the wrong part of the earbud or not touching long enough etc. All in all a very good earbud quality sound and functions just ok on the fit good on the charging options Wireless pad is a nice included feature.

Right out of the box, these earbuds, were very easy to pair to both a Samsung phone and an iPad. Multi point provides a start up message that there are 2 devices connected when you first put them in your ears, which I happen to like. The case is compact and opens easily. The magnets in the case are moderate, but not overly strong. The buds can be removed easily and quickly. The buds themselves have a good shape to them and I can place them in the ear without fumbling around. Music Presets are: Neutral, Speech, Bass Boost, Treble boost, Smooth Energize. Of course you can customize the equalizer and save your modifications. Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant are built in. The Jabra Sound+ app allows you to customize the controls . The app also have a Soundscapes feature and are divided into three groupings: “Masking the noise around you” ink noise, white noise, ventilation fan, waterfall, diving . Nature: Ocean waves, rainy day, songbirds, perfect storm, babbling brook. Comfort: cavern & crowd. You can use either ear bud while the other is charging. Most earbuds give me ear fatigue after awhile, but not these. Amazingly, I experienced no ear fatigue with wearing these for several hours at a time! 3 pairs of round silicon EarGels (S, M, L) come with it. Also included are a USB-A to USB-C cable and a discreet wireless charging pad. The round pad fits the earbud case perfectly. There’s up to 7 hours of battery in the buds, and the case itself gives you up to 28 hours total. The Spotify interface is a little wonky for me, so I need to play around with that more, but I'm sure it works well, as its been fine for me on other Jabra devices. Calls were loud and clear, so these buds have no real weaknesses, and are a good value and at a fair price. would recommend these for sure!

I was really excited when I received the Jabra Connect 5t earbuds. Setting them up out of the box was fairly easy. Especially because I already had the app installed from a previous set of Jabra earbuds. After getting everything dialed in how I like it, I was able to use these earbuds for a few hours. They sounded petty good in that short time, but one thing I noticed right away is that if you had a phone call and had noise canceling on, after the call, always one earbud, but sometimes both earbuds would no longer be in noise canceling mode. I would have to manually set it back after every call. Very annoying. The reason I mentioned a few hours is because that's how long they lasted. Just a few hours. The left earbud would start hissing if you had noise canceling on. It sounds like white noise playing through just the one earbud. I have gone back and forth with Jabra support over about a month with no resolve at this point. I received the generic email responses you expect about re-setting and re-pairing with my phone, which I had done previously to contacting them. At one point they flat out stopped responding. I'm not impressed with tech support at all. I was finally able to get in contact with someone that was able to send a replacement pair of earbuds, and they have the same issue with the noise canceling not returning after phone calls. Likes: 1.) Sounded good when they worked 2.) Comfortable and they stay in my ears 3.) Comes with a wireless charge base Dislikes: 1.) Noise canceling defective in one earbud 2.) Tech support is not helpful 3.) Noise canceling doesn't return after phone calls.

Hello kwilks3- Thank you for reviewing the Jabra Connect 5t. We are happy you found the Connect 5t comfortable and easy to set up. However, we regret that you started experiencing audio challenges with the Jabra Connect 5t earbuds a few hours into using the device, specifically ANC not returning to both earbuds after phone calls and the hissing noise you experienced in the device's left earbud. The challenges you describe are certainly not what we expect from the device. Furthermore, we are sorry you did not find our Support Team helpful when you contacted them about your challenge and that you experienced the same challenge with the replacement Jabra Connect 5t you received. This is the third Jabra product that I have, and I am impressed w/ the Jabra Connect 5t as I am w/ the other two. I love the feel of these earbuds and how lightweight they truly are. Jabra, to me, is on the cutting edge of headphones and if you have never tried their products you truly don’t know what you are missing. The packing was superb as always and setup was seamless and quick. I attached to all my devices within minutes. The sound quality is crystal clear and I love all of those things, but its the fit of these 5t’s that I’m most happy w/. They don’t cause ear fatigue as most other in ear listening devices do, they are even better than the other two Jabra products that I have. I am a Pastor and have to conduct a lot of virtual meetings due to Covid and since it was far easier to conduct meetings we just continue them virtually. I used the 5t’s on one of the meeting the other day and I was truly impressed. I could hear the other 7 Pastors crystal clear and I told them that I had new earbuds and I asked if anyone had a problem hearing me as we conducted the meeting and no one did. I was at home and my wife was watching a program on television and the “noise” didn’t cause any interference at all. I loved the fact that I was able to conduct the meeting and be able to hear everything so clearly. I have used these as I exercise, and love the fact that they don’t slip out, and the sound, again, is crystal clear. I used these the other day as I drove to a meeting and had to take several calls along the way, they truly make answering the call as well as hanging up “hands free”. If you are in the market for a great pair of in ear headphones, I highly recommend these Jabra Connect 5t.
