Jabra Quality, Great Usability

The Jabra Elite 65e is yet another neckband style headset. I haven't used a lot of Jabra products in the past few years, but I always remember their bluetooth headsets back in the day. The 65e is a solid headset in keeping with Jabra's reputation.
Setup is quite easy. They enter pairing mode immediately and are easy to pair. The voice prompts are straight forward and not as grating as some other cheaper headsets. There was significant attention to detail on user experience here, and it shows.
While the 65e boasts superior call quality, this feature has fallen far on my list of important features. I haven't had any complaints with the few calls I've taken. It's pretty cool that they can vibrate as well as make a pretty subdued tone to let you know you have an incoming call. The experience is quite nice w/ calls.
Where the 65e stands out to me is both audio quality and ANC. To get the best experience you need to ensure you've fitted the earbuds properly. The silicone inserts need to create a decent seal in your ears. The inserts that came out of the box installed were perfect to me, but there is a tray of other silicon pieces to ensure a great fit. This is essential to both sound quality and ANC working. The buds are held in place by the inner lobe area using the 'EarWings'. The manual goes through how to install and adjust for your needs.
If properly sealed, the 'passive' noise cancellation does a decent job of keeping things quiet. The ANC when enabled really cuts down on the background hums. Compared to my other ANC headphones (over the ear), the noise cancelling is pretty good. Things get quite quiet. I haven't used them on a flight yet, but my assumption is that they'd perform well in that situation (which is essentially what ANC was designed for).
Sound quality is top notch. The bass is quiet sublime without stretching to the absurd. The mids and highs are clear, and don't suffer from any over extension. The sound stage is narrow, but such is life when the sound drivers are literally in your ear canal. I found the treble could approach a bit of harshness and higher volumes (at least for me), but using the Sound+ app from Jabra, you can use a global 5-band equalizer to tune sound to your preferences.
The overall design of the headset is very premium. The materials are solid, and most of surface is a soft-touch plastic. The only downside for me is that the neckband can get a bit hot if it's sitting directly on skin. The right side has a multifunction button flanked by volume up and down. The left side has an 'assistant' button and ANC on/off button. One of the cooler features is the 'hearthrough' which mutes your music, and passes through microphone input to your ears. The idea is if you are listening to music, and someone needs to talk to you, you just hold the ANC button for 2 seconds and then you can carry on a conversation without ever removing your earbuds. In practice it's a bit odd for me, but it does function quite well.
Another great usability feature is the magnets for the earbuds. While it keeps them tidy when not in your ears, it's also smart enough to pause your music when you click them together. Also if you're receiving a call (and feel the vibration), separating the buds will answer the call. This is really nifty.
Overall, the Jabra 65e are a highly polished set of ANC earbuds with excellent sound quality. Its the sort of polish that you won't get from most $200 earbuds. If you're in the market for earbuds, and would like ANC to cut out some background noises/hums, try the 65e's - you won't be disappointed.

Worked great for 2 weeks. Great sound for watching movies and phone calls. Noise cancelling works pretty well. Then the left bud started to short out. Having to return. Hopefully can update this and was just a defect not often found in this product.

I like the idea. The power being supplied by the piece on the neck is nice. The audio quality is not great in the mid section, and the neck piece fit weird. The ear pieces fit well, though.

Hello MRMAN, Thank you for your review. The Jabra Elite 65e does include an Audio Equalizer in the Sound+ app. This may help with the mid range sound concern. The neck piece will have some shaping structure to it for the battery, it can take some adjusting to get the feel right. Thank you for your feedback.

I hate the hanging buds but didnt want the cordless either. They either get caught in my seat belt or something else. I dont like that theres no switch for on n off so you have to put it in your ear and listen for the tone. Battery life isn't as good as LG.

Overall the headset is just ok. If this were a $50 or so headset then it would be 4/5 stars, but for the $100+ price point, modest quality, problematic noise cancellation (ANC), and slow support from Jabra two stars is generous. I originally identified issues with really poor quality when synced to two devices. Now I have found that when ANC is enabled, turning my head creates static in the ear. Originally I thought it was a short in the cable, but once I disabled ANC the problem went away. Re-enable ANC and the problem returns. Jabra support is of little help, all they want to do is replace it, which I have already done once. And I am outside of the return window for Best Buy. I would suggest something else for this amount of money.

Hello Brett - We are sorry to read that you are experiencing an issue with Active Noise Cancellation with your Jabra Elite 65e! This is definitely not what you should expect from the headset, and we are glad that you have already reached out to support. We encourage you to continue with the second replacement if that is what support advises. Feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions. Thank you for your review.

The Jabra Elite 65e headphones are a solid overall choice, but those who are serious about their music will find the sound quality lacking.
The 65e is very comfortable to wear and easy to use. With built in controls for Siri and Google, it makes an excellent headset for calls. The comfortable neckband stays in place while you move around, with no rubbing sounds from contact with clothes. Outstanding battery life means you can use them all day, and the active noise cancellation works quite well. Sound quality on calls is extremely clear on both ends.
The only weakness is in the audio playback. The dynamic range of music is stilted, giving it a bit of a hollow/muted sound. If music is your primary usage, you might want to look elsewhere.
Overall, an excellent set of phones for calls and casual music listening.

I purchased this device to use during power walks and runs. I found out as soon as I started to sweat this device was not going to work. The cords are too stiff causing the band to move if only wearing one earbud. The band kept sliding backwards. It's shaped like a V instead of rounded to hug your neck. The buds did not stay in well. You have to download an app in order to connect with your device. I can't tell you about the sound quality because I was too busy trying to keep the band on my neck to notice. I returned after one use.

StephL, We apologize for your experience. Most users report much better comfort including. The three sets of ear gels and ear wings allow most users to customize the fit for their own best comfort. The rounded neck band design is intended for being used in both ears, and may explain some of the slipping if used in a different manner. With a wide variety of phone operating systems there can be an app needed to allow proper connection of our devices for the best experience. Thank you for your detailed review.

Best I've had for talking and listening on phone, plus great quality for music. Sync's well with convenient voice option. Not as good as Bose for noise cancellation. Would be 5, however after 4 mos. of use won't hold a charge.

Hi JakeVas, we are so glad that you enjoy the sound quality and Sound+ app features! It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy the design and battery life. The Elite 65e was designed to sit comfortably around your neck. The neckband can be shaped to fit, and the earbuds magnetically clip together so they are not moving around while you are. Your Elite 65e should get up to 8 hours battery life on a full charge with ANC, or up to 13 hours without ANC. If you are not getting enough battery life, we hope that you will contact us so we can look into it for you: https://www.jabra.com/contact/support/jabra-support-consumer. Thank you for your review!

I bought these in-ear headphones for use while I cycle indoors on a smart trainer, both for listening to classical music and for talking using the Discord app. The first use with Discord worked perfect, everyone else could hear me OK, however on subsequent uses the other people cannot hear me speaking. I didn't change any settings or how I wear the headphones, so totally stumped why the low mic levels. If this continues I'll have to get a refund.

Hello Daniel. We are sorry to hear that you have connection issues with the Discord app, an app not supported for Jabra devices, while using the Jabra Elite 65e. We would suggest resetting the Elite 65e by following these steps: Ensure the earbuds are powered on and you are not on a call. Then simultaneously hold the Volume up button and the Multi-function button for 5 seconds. You will then need to re-pair the earbuds. Daniel, please reach out to our support team if you have any further questions. https://www.jabra.com/ServiceMenu/contact/ContactJabraSupport/ContactJabraSupportConsumer. We are happy to assist you. Thank you for your review.

These had OK sound, which was disappointing based off of the marketing hype on the box. Buttons on the headset were not easy to use, or find for the purpose needed, while wearing on your neck. Noise reduction was poor. I have the Bose noise canceling set and it is far superior, Would not buy or reccomend.
